i am new here in the forum of galaxy ace s5830, hoping for someone to guide me:
i am confused of what i shud do first.
1. Shud i have an extension partition first before flashing a ROM?
2. or shud i flash first the ROM and then create ext using Link2SD..?
which shud be the 1st step?
Flash the rom first, then use cwm to create an ext3 partition. After the ext3 partition is created then link2sd can be set up.

Are you sure? My phone can only boot when I flash a custom rom. It only happens when I restore my nandroid of the stock rom.

if you can't enter to the cwm recovery, you should use odin

nandroid backup of stock rom wont work as it is in rfs format..
cwm dont support formating partion to rfs..
it would work only if u convert partion to ext4 before backup..
but custom roms will work as they wud b in ext4 format

Hell no! Flash stock rom with odin, root, install cwm recovery and you can recover any stock rom nandroid backup. This is the way to go if you try a custom rom, don't like it, and want to restore the nandroid backup of your previous stock rom.

Hi, I have a 32gb sd, and to make it run, i had to make 2 partition of 15/16 gb, and what i want to know is if there is a way to automount the 2nd partition at phone start... plus if there is a way to use only 1 big partition instead of 2 little ones, but i don't really care about it... I hope you can understand what i'm saying xD
Thanks
Try to use an app from playstore called link to sd..
Hit thanks button if i helped

If you would read stuff around you would know that partitioning is only posible on custom kernel.

And you should know that SD card can be partitioned on PC.
If it is usefull for you, i changed to nAa ICS 4 and MiniCM9 (whatever the lastest version is), and now for some reason, my sd-ext partition is the 2nd FAT32, my EXT4 is useless, and the phone doesn't automount my swap partition... i think i broke something xD
Can any one explain me how to install it I read the original thread.
But I couldn't figure out how to get it

Hi everyone, I've just read about slim ROM's for the mini ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956127
[05/01/2013] ). I would really like to try this but I have one question: I have increased my internal memory by partitioning my SD (Guide also in one of this forums here). When I flash such a ROM, will my internal memory still be increased or, if it isn't, will I be able to flash that “memory-hack“ again so it does work again, but without losing the rom?
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
The partition will be there even if u flash new rom..but u will have to create mount script again and link that partition to internal memory again..

Ah, one more question:
After having linked the SD again, will my apps, sms etc be recognized again or do I have to for example delete the cache-folder on the ext partition first?
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
U have to delete the partition data..n link again
