Hi,
I am looking for a case that adds minimal bulk to the device. I would prefer something with a soft-touch finish, but not necessarily silicone.
So far, I have looked at the Seidio Surface, the SGP Ultra Silke, and the Rearth Ringke.
Does anyone know from experience which of these cases is thinnest?
Also, has anyone found other cases that will retain the slimness of the phone?
Thanks.
I dont know from experience but from reading these forums the incipio feather case maybe be the slimmest. Its hard case that snaps on but doesnt cover the top or bottom of the phone. I do got the Rearth Ringke which is awesome. The fit is great.

Thanks for the reply. Is the Rearth Ringke relatively slim as well?
Also interested in a slim case.
Its really not that bad. The fit is great and the texture it has is a nice touch. It has enough grip to keep it from slipping but slippery enough to keep lent and fingerprints off.

^That's good to know.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for slim cases?
you could get these if you would consider a skin http://www.adreama.com/products/mobile-phone-skins/samsung/nexus-s
they're pretty damn thin, give good grip, protects the outside of your phone from scratches, and you get two so you can pick which color you prefer
I wish case mate would make a barely there case. There seems to be a huge demand for it.
incipio case quite slim, soft, and sexy.. the only drawback is it's quite fragile. my friend bought it awhile ago, he had SOD (sleep of death) many times using netarchy kernel and he had to remove the case to remove the battery. after a few remove, the case start to get loose and finally the case gave up and broke..

This seems interesting. I have found several cases identical to this on eBay for as little as $3 (like this andthis).
The material seems different than other TPU cases, and is just what I am looking for. Anyone else have a case similar to this (TPU, but with matte-finish rubberized rear)?

that second one looks just like the black one that you get in the two pack I posted. I actually think that the black one looks really bad with a black phone, but that's just my opinion.
I have the incipio feather case (black) and love it. Soft touch, great grip, and best of all no fingerprints. Not a tacky rubberized feel that sticks to everything (lint, hair). There is a little space at the top and bottom that isn't covered (bottom for port access) but it looks great. very slim. I bought the standard black case that best but had available on launch day and the crappy rubbery screen protector. Couldn't stand either one and dug out my g1 sleeve cover.
Bought the incipio because I hate the slick back of the phone. Been using it ever since.
I would disagree that it is fragile. I take it off and put it back on at least once a week and haven't had any loosening or breakage (after several months of use). Thing is still rock solid and fits perfectly snug.
hopefully this is helpful.
edit: although it is very thin and adds very little bulk, it is noticeable. With the case on, my phone no longer fits in my g1 sleeve and this makes me kind-of a sad panda.

How is your overall experience with the two-pack case that you posted? Does it add too much bulk to the device, or attract dust/lint?

Thanks so much for the detailed review. I appreciate the input.
The Feather seems to be a promising alternative to the other cases, mainly because I love the soft touch finish.

I actually think that the phone fits better in my hand with the case on. i'm not worried that i'm going to snap it in half on accident and it's only the tiniest bit bulkier than it normally would be.
I seem to notice little hairs and stuff accumulating right where the case stops, but it's easy enough to either wipe them off without removing the case or to just pull the case off and clean around the edges. overall, I think it's a great case. I added some before and after pictures so you could see how little bulk there is.
I also have the Incipio Feather Case and agree with discussion above. Actually have 2 for 2 phones.
Black is matte finish. Teal is not, but its not a hard, shiny plastic feel. I really like it, questioned buying but so tired of black (their other colors are
very bright, way too much for a mother of 3).
I was looking for the thinnest case possible and feel this is it.
The top and bottom is open so won't protect there, but has the corners.
The thing I love the most is the grip, felt the phone was too slick and just
waiting to drop. This solved that. I do not feel it is fragile, don't take off
that much, but have no problems using fingernail. It is tight, but that is good.
Would highly recommend. And if shopping on Ebay, there are some for $20
shipped. It states Nexus S (not specific for 4g, even on the box when you
receive it), but if it is Incipio, not knock off, it works.
sgp case is very good
So just got the nexus s 4g, wanna get a really really slim minimalist case almost a bumper type case, so I narrowed between two choices the Nexus S Ringke Case or the Incipio feather Ultralight Hard Shell Case. And i ddint seem to find any other good alternatives between those, any suggestions? I posted the link to both below.

Incipio Feather is less bulky and more slim than any silicon/TPU cases.
If your picky and takes care of your phone go with the feather by incipio. Tpu case if your more caresless and drops phones constantly

a review on the incipio site said the case needed to be trimmed to fit the 4g? I am also trying to decide on the incipio because its made for the nexus s and the NS4g is a bit thicker.

Incipio fits well on my NS4G, and since every case isn't exactly the same u might have to trim only little bit on top of power button cut out, more like scraping off some plastic, sharp knife will help. I strongly recommend that case, I love it.

ditto. my wife and i both have incipio feather case, i'm a phone in the pocket guy so need something light and thin that doesnt add bulk. only thing i wish it it covered top and bottom better, but no biggie. and my power button works fine, the cutout is not centered to it, i thought about trimming the top of the cutout like 1mm MAYBE, but not necessary. great case for the $, check deals on amazon.
i would go for the rearth ringke. Nice case and good deal on the bundle (w/2 audio plugs and screen protectors, even if they are a little small).
Man, im way to hard on my phones to use a sleek case. i tape two 4" pieces of foam top either side of mine

This is the nilikin slim case. I have it in black and white and love it. Doesn't add too much bulk at all and is still protective.
Doin' big thangs from my Note Deuce
bear motion has a very nice case. i got a grey one off amazon. it has some type of micro fiber texture so it doesnt slip from my hand when reaching across the big screen with my thumb.
i have a sf matte as well. bear motion is a lot nicer imo

I really like my case from cuzerliteits not to think at all. I actually didn't want a case but after having the phone slip out of my pocket and slide down carpeted steps... from the top everyone... yeah not good. Doesn't pick up grease either

Question about those with slim cases. I have noticed that most of the slim cases are not snug at all four corners. I have two right now, the ringke slim and the elago slim, and both have issues that prevent me from using them.
The elago case doesn't fit snugly at the bottom right or left corner. It is very easy to press it off of the phone. The ringke doesn't fit well at all and when I pick the phone up the sides flex in and creak. That drives me nuts.
I'm looking for a slim hard case that actually fits well. It doesn't have to be paper thin, but I want it to actually fit snugly and almost be a challenge to remove. I am sort of anal about my cases and these kind of fitment issues drive me nuts.

Case-mate Tough (REVIEW) and Case-mate Pop! (REVIEW) will fit that category. Tough is ridiculously slim yet made of two layers, while Pop! is a molded two layers and to hard to remove that you need to push on the camera. Based on your description - those are definitely two cases!

I have the Speck Candyshell and I'm mostly satisfied with it (still searching for the right case). It's 1 piece, hard plastic along all edges, covers all 4 corners, and fits snug. It is slim given the 2 layer protection (plastic and silicone). Two things make me unhappy with it: 1) it has no grip and very slippery; 2) the black plastic shows every scratch (its also available in pink, which probably hides scratches better).
I may try the case below since it's similar to the Candyshell.

Thanks for the suggestions. So far I haven't been able to find one I really like. It seems like most companies are trying to go so thin that they aren't making a case that fits well.

Spigen SGP slim case. It fits very tightly (no moving or creaking), covers most of corner areas and comes with a great Spigen screen protector. Only $20.
Thanks, I just ordered the Spigen. I will see how it feels. I couldn't stand the elago, the corners would almost slide off with no effort. I'm used to a very strong click when a case pops into place, and that case not moving unless I basically pry it off.

I use a Mercury pink case I got from Amazon, which is slim and snug. The right corner is exposed, but it doesn't interfere with the phone staying in place at all. There's different colors sold separately or two sold together.

Get this case! Fits slim and great, great feel and decent protection. Very slim and pretty good grip. I have gotten 4 cases and this one easily wins hands down. $20 may seem a bit steep, but it is well built and you won't regret it!
I do not have 10 posts yet, so may not post an outside link... But it is the samsung protective bumper cover case plus for note 2... Look it up on amazon

I own several cases now, but sometimes cheap and simple ends up beating the rest. The one I use more often is still the X-Line TPU. It is ridiculously cheap but a very tight fit and with a very good texture that really gives extra grip. It also looks pretty good, which is surprising for cheap TPUs. I strongly recommend it.
4.4/5 at nearly 60 amazon reviews.

This is a good, snug, and fairly slim TPU case that I got after trying and returning the Ringke and others: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009WDWBH6/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It comes in several colors also.

I picked up that case last week, and have been using it ever since. It's very snug on the phone, but still easy to get on or off as needed. The holes line up perfectly, it's very comfortable to hold, plenty grippy, and looks much nicer than the $3 price tag. Back is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but not a terrible lint collector. Doesn't add much bulk to the phone at all.

I have one of those ultra thin 0.5mm cases that's almost not like having a case at all. I don't ever drop my phone, but prefer to run one of these cases to prevent scratches on the phone. Best of all, it's under $2 shipped, and doesn't have any open edges, which makes it stay on the phone very well.
I can't post links due to post count, but just search on ebay for, "Black Ultra Thin Semi Clear Plastic Cover Case Samsung Galaxy Note 2"
I use the elago G6 slim case and I absolutely love it.
I've never had a problem with it popping off and I'm not overly gentle with it. Everyone uses their phone differently and it obviously didn't work for the OP, but I just wanted to stick up for it a little bit.
its been 24 hours since i bought the Speck CandyShell grip case for the ONE M8, and its already scratched up in the back. it does not add bulk to the phone but the back looks bad now. if you are considering this case i would recommend to look for another one. Specially for the price. here is a mini video i did about it.. just saying:

We hand Speck CandyShells out with all our Corp owned iPhones and the black shells look like hell after maybe a week. The white ones will hold up better but only because it's harder to see the scratches.

I just don't get why Speck does not change the materials ...
you might want to change the title from CandyShell Grip to just CandyShell. I thought you were referring to the other ones. But yeah the Speck cases hold up good, but the back looks like hell. I have one on my LG G2 and was going to try one for the M8.
Just don't like how slippery they are if your hands are wet/sweaty, hard to get a good grip on the phone. I'm interested in looking at the Speck Grip Candyshell case but don't think there is any yet for this device? I have the incipio duo case which is great but again slick on the back so not a good gripe when hands are a bit wet/sweaty. Only grip on this "flashy" looking cases.

The richest part is I saw an Incipio case yesterday with the same semi gloss plastic back and it came with a screen protector for the back of the Incipio case. When your case needs a screen protector wrap to remain in good condition I think it's time to move to another material.
But on the flip side, those particular cases to take a beating. All our users that keep their phones in them never seem to come back with broken phones.
