I am attempting to demonstrate the NFC capabilities of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 devices.
If you are interested in purchasing the same NFC tags that I used, go to:
http://www.tagsfordroid.com
Remember, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 devices MUST uses NTAG203 compatible tags, whereas the Nexus 7 and many other devices can use the MIFARE tags.

This accessory works for the Nexus 4. Does this work with the Nexus 7?
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6499/...ix-slimport-microusb-to-hdmi-and-vga-adapters
No.
No Video out on n7
The Tegra 3 processor on the Nexus 7 has support for HDMI and other video out, and several other Tegra tablets support this, but not the Nexus 7.
Interestingly the Nexus 7 and Nexus Q were launched at the same time, and shown in scenarios where the (UI-less) Q would connect to a TV and be controlled by the (video-out-less) 7. Coincidence?
It seems the nexus 6 with lollipop is only compatible with chromecast. I thought miracast would work with any devixe running android 4.2 or higher. However, my new nexus 6 does not work with the microsoft wireless display adapter. This dongle did work with a galaxy s4.
So any chance somekne can clarify and/or help get miracast working with android 5.0 on a nexus 6?
Thanks

Miracast is not supported.
I have working Miracast with my GS3 running CM12 (pretty much pure Lollipop at the moment).
You have to enable the Wireless Display option in the Cast menu in order to see Miracast devices.
Is this option absent from the Nexus 6?
Nope. It has the cast screen option, but nithing else. And it does not recognize miracast devices. I'm hoping a developer can help enable this feature. Kind of crappy for google to force chromecast use only.
It seems Nexus 6 does not support miracast.
Has anybody gotten Android auto to function with the galaxy note 7? I just picked one up due to getting too many faulty HTC 10'S and I was wondering if there's any way I can get this to work on my pioneer sph-da120. This radio has been a nightmare for me because I haven't been able to get any Android phones to work on it
That radio is an AppRadio. It's not compatible with Android Auto. It is compatible with Pioneer's AppRadio app.
I doubt the Note 7 is MHL compatible, so you'd need to use mirrorlink or a Chromecast to work with that phone. I used a Chromecast for my AppRadio 2.

If you have no media audio option that's the typical problem many note 7s have. I could not get it to connect to my 2013 optima either same as any others w/ kia/hyundai as well as other cars.
Will you go with other (newer) nexus, pixel or maybe some Chinese replacement ?
my two cents:
what i learn about android is that you can own a really piece of sh*t "smarthphone" but with a custom rom it becomes a useful device...
i'm not comparing flagships with entry level (it's ridiculous) but i had own an LG optimus ONE p500 with cyanogenmod and it run great and now nexus 4 with lineage os.
my next device is gonna be a entry level devices with a custom rom... xiaomi redmi 4x seems to be the right one to me.

I suggest you to buy an android one supported device, 2 major updates and 3 years of security patches... The xiaomi mi a1 is relatively known atm, also the BQ aquaris x2 (pro) will launch on 9th of May and Nokia (6 in example) has a whole set of android one devices in various price ranges...
Android One is definitely the way to go for me, guaranteed software support is important, especially after owning a Oneplus2 and 3t as my last devices with dropped support to nearly zero after just 14 months...

Actially i changed 4 nexus 4s. I also have nexus 5 which needs repair. I bought from ebay damaged nexus 5 to repair mine. After nexus 4 i'll stick to nexus 5 for couple years. I do not like nexus 6 and 6p. 5x is a disaster with it's bootloop problem. maybe in 2020 i'll buy pixel 2 5"model. I do not like spending more then 100$-110$ on a phone. I bought this exact nexus 4 which i am writing this post feom exactly for 21 $. It's almost free hardware and it runs android 8.1 oreo and sailfiah os thanks to xda. That is why i like this device. Every alternative os runs on it. Firefox os, ubuntu touch, sailfish...
