Android auto and galaxy note 7? - Android Auto General

Has anybody gotten Android auto to function with the galaxy note 7? I just picked one up due to getting too many faulty HTC 10'S and I was wondering if there's any way I can get this to work on my pioneer sph-da120. This radio has been a nightmare for me because I haven't been able to get any Android phones to work on it

That radio is an AppRadio. It's not compatible with Android Auto. It is compatible with Pioneer's AppRadio app.
I doubt the Note 7 is MHL compatible, so you'd need to use mirrorlink or a Chromecast to work with that phone. I used a Chromecast for my AppRadio 2.

If you have no media audio option that's the typical problem many note 7s have. I could not get it to connect to my 2013 optima either same as any others w/ kia/hyundai as well as other cars.

[Q] Nexus 6 miracast

It seems the nexus 6 with lollipop is only compatible with chromecast. I thought miracast would work with any devixe running android 4.2 or higher. However, my new nexus 6 does not work with the microsoft wireless display adapter. This dongle did work with a galaxy s4.
So any chance somekne can clarify and/or help get miracast working with android 5.0 on a nexus 6?
Thanks

There are already threads that address this... Search function?
Miracast is not supported.
I have working Miracast with my GS3 running CM12 (pretty much pure Lollipop at the moment).
You have to enable the Wireless Display option in the Cast menu in order to see Miracast devices.
Is this option absent from the Nexus 6?
Nope. It has the cast screen option, but nithing else. And it does not recognize miracast devices. I'm hoping a developer can help enable this feature. Kind of crappy for google to force chromecast use only.
It seems Nexus 6 does not support miracast.

S5 with Android Auto

Does anyone else having issue with the Galaxy S5 not working with Android Auto? I have the new Pioneer 8100NEX but AA does not start up when I plug in the S5 to the head unit.
Could you read other threads and find by yourself ? it would take not longer than 3 minutes, even writing this thread took longer than finding it.
I am able to use my Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android Auto MINUS the voice/microphone capability with my AVIC-8100nex Pioneer HU.
Check the link below to see if your phone falls into the list of phones with known issues.

Also make sure your Pioneer stereo is updated to the latest update, ver 1.03.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are also confirmed as not working for Android Auto.
Google has not updated their support page to reflect this yet.
Hello,
thanks for the information.
Do you have a list which devices are supported? Is the HTC One M8 supported?
Thanks!

Try enabling USB Debugging under the Developer Options in your phone Settings.

I don't have a list of supported devices. I can only confirm devices which I have personally tested or have seend as confirmed through Android online sites.
HTC One M8 on AT&T works fine with Android Auto.
If you are having problems, please make sure you are on the latest Google Play Services, 7.3.29 (1866531-xxx) (7329448) for Android 5.0+ (Lollipop, API 21).
Support added for Samsung.

With the new Google play services patch, support for many of Samsung devices has been added. Don't know about S5 since it's an older phone but I know the S6 and s6 edge are now fully supported.

I have moved on from the Verizon S5 to the Verizon s6. However even with the up date to Google Play Service 7.3.29 (1866531-440) still did not solve my problem with AA working. Has anyone else had the same issue with the Verizon S6?
Also only the Samsung MHL/HDMI 2.0 adapter will work on S5. NOT the pioneer one.

Samsung S6 would work now, but "not available in your country" (Germany). With the Nexus 5 it works fine in the same country
Any idea?

Gamepad compatible with Fortnite Android?

Hi to all. Just upgraded to Mi Note 10 from old Mi4.
I downloaded Fortnite but it's real hard to use with touch. I'm searching about a compatible controller but i''m a bit confused.
I have a Nintendo Switch too.. so i'm searching a solution that work in both scenario.
After too many test these are results:
- i connected Nintendo Joy-Con using Mi note 10 Bluetooth. Both devices pair without any problem. However.. no response in the game. Randomly something happen clicking all button. Unusable.
- i bought a Maegoo Controller on Amazon. It work OK with Nintendo Switch but with Mi Note 10 i can only pair but ...again ... no response. Downloaded some Gamepad test app on playstore... nothing to do.
- Found on the web some info about Nintendo PRO Controller. It seems that supported from Android 10. I want to know if anyone have tested it with Mi note 10. However i read that Android10 just now released so... if really support Controller PRO... would be a perfect solution for me.
At the end... Epic FAQ says:
Yes. On Android, we support most Bluetooth controller adapters, such as:
Steelseries Stratus XL
Gamevice
Sony DualShock 4 Wireless Controller (Android OS 10 or newer)
Xbox Wireless Controller
Razer Raiju Mobile
Razer Junglecat
Moto Gamepad
These are expensive gamepad... and not seems to work with my Nintendo switch

Any roms with Miracast reenabled?

Hey guys,
I got a new car and of course it has apple car play but not Android auto. It allows screen mirroring for Android but of course It uses Miracast. Pixel 4 xl doesn't come with that built into Android anymore as Google wants everyone to use Chromecast.
Are there any ROMs that have Miracast built into it or am I out of luck?

Question on how I can mirror my cell phone to 2020 Toyota LE display

I have a couple of cell phones not rooted. Nexus 5 and a Galaxy S7 Edge.
Currently using the S7 with Android Auto. For what it allows to stream to my Camry
display it works well. However I would like to stream more apps to the Toyota Display.
I have not found a work around unless I root the phone.
If I root the older Nexus 5 (firmware 6.0.1) Could I tether from my S7 to the Nexus 5,
have the Nexus 5 connected to the Toyota via the USB? The Nexux 5 doesn't have
cell service but works fine in WiFi.
This would give the Nexux WiF and internet to pass on to the Camry display.
I am a little uncomfortable trying to root the S7 since that is my main phone.
I am also interested in what are the best methods to mirror from a cell
phone to my 2020 Toyota Camry LE
Thanks
Ken
