If you opened the case carefully they won't realize that it was opened, as long as you don't tell them you opened it.
Flash it back to 100% stock (latest firmware available [4.2.2]) and lock your bootloader.
Like I said, if you opened the back carefully they won't know that you opened it.
About buying a new battery, I don't know since Ive never done such stuff

Sounds like a loose battery connector to me. Possibly a bad battery though.
Coincidences happen all the time. Doubtful it has anything to do with software.

I've put my X10i in for repair twice now because it kept rebooting until it couldn't even get to the SE splash screen.
I've been offered a new replacement but not of an X10i because they're "hard to get hold of". Instead I can get a Samsung Galaxy S or Desire.
I did a lot of research before getting the X10, but haven't the time to find out how these handsets compare to the same level of detail. Initially it looks like they're both a bit cheaper than the X10.
Does anyone have an opinion? Is there a better match to the X10i?
I like Android, and all the modding it allows. I was pretty happy with the X10 when it worked, but sometimes it felt chuggy and the battery life really sucked.
Swap.
My sister has an x10. Only gps is better on x10. No question.

Definitely Galaxy S.
Then flash the leaked JVQ firmware on it

galaxy s is definitely the better choice because it has better hardware and much better software support. the only thing you might miss is the. camera. if camera is not a concern then get it by all means.
gps working flawlessly since 2.3.3
definatelly galaxy s!
my first android was an X10i ! followed by a desire hd and a galaxy s which I still own and enjoy the most .
the X10i was the worst of them all , terrible actually and it got stuck at 2.1
Thanks guys, that was really useful. Galaxy S arriving soon

I also came from a x10a to the sgs, better in all aspects, except the gps, the gps for the sgs is very weak, this weekend went to a lake trip in the middle of the baja mountains, my friend has a x10a, i have a sgs, the two open up the gps test app, in the middle of nowhere, no phone signal, his phone got 8 or 9 sats, fix in 4 secs, mine only 3 sats and a 7 minutes fix (after two restarts). the two phones on the same spot. thats all i miss from my x10a.

yeah , that might be true when comparing out of the box standard phones ...
but did you use any available fixes on your SGS to help the GPS get a better lock ?

A normal gps first fix takes about 3mins.
This time can be improved with various augments.
If it is taking longer than 3 mins to get a fix, then you might have a problem.
Hi there,
Some users posted that they get 7 - 9 hours of screen on time with stock battery. I usually get 3.5 to max 5 hours of screen on time depending applications I use. So I'm little skeptical that the retailer where I purchased GNote might have given me fake battery.
How much screen on time do you 'really' get with full single charge ? If possible could anyone of you please attach a photo (from both sides) of your original SGNote battery ?
Best regards.
I too get 5 hours only when am reading e books
Thanks for replying. Could you please post photo of your battery, both sides ?
I have been refreshing this thread for last 30 mins, thinking to kick hell out of the retailer.
I usually get 3.5-4.5 hours of screen on time as well.. the least I've got till now is around 3hrs.I'm on stock rom unrooted...and I'm certain that my battery is original!!!
WTF I'm not able to upload pics!!!even after the picture loads 100% xda is stuck at waiting for response!! ?? :banghead:

Those who squeeze out 7-9 hrs don't use their phone at all. Your usage is quite normal.
Id say your 3.5 to 5 is about what I get too, so totally normal in my opinion.
im getting the same 3 to max (rarely) 4.5 hours screen on , normal usage with wifi and 3g on all the time....which is very good compared to my desire HD....
i am 100% convinced that this is the original battery ,i think those who get 7 hours time have everything else switched off (sync , 3g , wifi, lowest brightness , screenfilter app ...etc)...
so dont u worry about it
Hello
As the title suggests, I need advice on the best replacement battery for Samsung Galaxy S i9000. The original 1500mAh for the phone lasts 3-4 hours or a tad bit over at best with continued use on my phone that was rooted to Cyanogen mod along with ThinkingBridge installed just recently. I don't even play games on the phone so it's a bit annoying to see it give up so soon with browsing only.
I was wishing this phone could somehow last about as long as Samsung Galaxy Note does with its 2500mAh but perhaps I am being too wishful. Nevertheless, I would fancy maximum possible increase in its battery life as long as it is significant and actually worth my money.
Having said that, I would welcome advice on the matter preferably from people who actually own or have owned the phone and know of such reliable batteries and the kind of performances they have delivered. I'd also appreciate if somebody could tell exactly how many hours a new replacement battery would add. I doubt that any of the legit ones will be available here in Pakistan so I ll probably be ordering it from the US (Amazon or eBay).
Thanks in advance.

you can increase battery performance by management with greenify , and xprivacy as well as these
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
Have you looked in the Accesories part of the Galaxy S forums?
For most people, an extended battery (1800mAh in most cases) and kernel and performance tweaking gets them the best battery life possible...

Thanks for getting back to me on the matter but the thing is that there's a mention of so many different battery brands including anker and polar cell and mugen and oem that it gets confusing for me to pick the best. As a result, I was looking for advice on which one actually works best with this phone and gives maximum possible battery time with uninterrupted wifi activity. I'd also be interested in knowing how many hours it would actually add.

I'll check it out, thanks. Hoping for more advice on the best replacement battery that would add to the browsing hours significantly, still.
How about this one instead of battery extenders that would make the phone look ugly and bulky: http://www.amazon.co.uk/cellePhone-...152VU/dp/B004IJ9M6W/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top? Anyone had any experience with one of these?
Let me know if I am correct to assume that Polar Cell 1800mAh is better than Anker 1800mAh.

Like the title says, why is it so high? I've disabled a bunch of bloat and my phone is rooted but I don't have a ton of apps or much running. Even if I don't use my phone I always see Android OS at the top. I've installed BetterBatteryStats and it's almost always in deep sleep. I know it can't be an app because I have the same few apps from my Note 2 and Android System and Android OS were always all the way at the bottom for me.
I'm not sure what the problem is here. Can anyone help me? Suggestions to try?
Well it your OS. That and the screen will most likely always be the top 2. If it was any lower it would be dead.
Again... my note 2 was never that high using more than screen time. And it isn't all the time. Right now it is only using 9%.... obviously something is wrong then.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
Same issue here my unrooted will spend 3% for 6 hr but after root it will spend 20% I think it will be the root problem and my android os will be the top one or two most of the time
Same here. It's has a lot of "stay awake" time too. It shouldn't be this way, but it is a common problem that nobody knows the answer to
sEnt from thE noTe 3
You need to get Better Battery stats and see what's using your battery. It's definitely not supposed to be doing that. Two possible solutions without knowing exactly what's going on. Take it to att and get a new one, or do a factory reset and start over.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502239 I think the end of the thread has a fix

Exactly. Right now my Android OS is at 28% and I will still get over 20 hours.
Yep, Android OS is higher than my screen usage, but i'm still getting excellent battery life. I'm not concerned!
I'm sorry, this wake lock with a screen on time just over an hour is not normal. Not at all

Hello xda team !
I have this best phone about 21 dec 2011 . But in the winter 2013 , i replaced my display because he goes off. . After I replaced my display , my battery level goes down very fastly , like 10h ( in STAND-BY , with all data OFF ) . I stayed like that until yesterday , when I bought a new original battery for my phone .... but there was no change ( . My battery life goes of again in 10h.... Why ? ( Pls tell me why ?
What Can I do ? I need help because I dispear .. :| )
Sory for my bad english... I'm from Romania!
I tried all possible ROMs !
Hi there, just a guess, maybe you bought a cheap chinese (no offence) display which could be draining more current than the original one.
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I'm afraid the display it's the problem... Do you think if I replace the display , all will be ok ?
Have you had your display changed or did you do it yourself? No other problems with display occured other than drain? There is a possibility that the display could have been connected not correctly (tie power nors could be oxidised or similar). With the older display, how much battery time die you have with the same usage of phone?
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I went to a GSM service to replace my display. I didn't found any other problems.... , but with this (new) display I can touch in just 3 points and the old going 10. With the older display , I reached 3-4 days..
3 touch points are enough for daily use. Let us know, whether battery drain is fixed or not with the new screen.
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I have this problem when I changed the screen . I tried a lots of ROMs , and a new battery ... and nothing.. What can I do ? Replace the screen again ? :|
If the waranry is gone and you want to take an action, my advice would be using some tutorials on youtube take the screen off and clean pins with some cleaning product (acetone or pure gasoline), then make sure that pins are smooth, not broken or something then putting the same screen and testing for a few dalys. If the problem persist, then you should change the screen
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
Ok I'll try this ! And I will post as soon as possible the result. It would be better if I just clean the pins. Thanks a lot !
What do you think about my battery is it normal or no
I use cm7 i dont use any connections( in school) i switch to airplane mode my screen is minimal brightness 15s and it drains in like 2-3 hours of gaming if i come back i see some xda posts take some photos and its 15% left
Does if i buy a new battery 1850mAh it will give me more energy?
What do you think?

If You sau you game for about 2-3 hours then it's normal that battery drains fast. You get 2-3 hours of screen on time + processor and graphics are working at that time. Lėtas be realistic, the phone is old and it's not vert energy efficient nowadays, so i can't tell whether buying a new battery could get you a lot more usage. But you mat never now IF you won't try
