[Q] Google Play Store: missing shared library - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to install The Weather Channel app through the Google Play Store, and while the file downloads, it tries to install and pops up with an error saying "missing shared library." It's happened with other apps, I don't remember which ones, but this is the most recent.
What causes that error to happen and is there any way to fix it?

Hi,
If the problem concern apps using google maps (I do not know weather channel), It can be you are missing this libraries that you should copy to the system (permissions et framework); restart after copying them:
com.google.android.maps.xml
com.google.android.maps.jar
you can find them in any gapps package (better chose one for your rom/device)

Google Play Music won't install

I can't get google play music to install. At first I was getting an error that the previous package was not signed. Please uninstall previous version. But I could never find it in my apps to uninstall. I manually deleted music.apk from system/app folder. Now I get an error that says the application is already installed but I can't find it anywhere. How can I manually remove this app without have to wipe my Xoom?

You uninstalled the basic music app. Not qoogle play music.
If you don't use the basic android music app, I'd just leave it out. With a file explorer like Root Explorer, go to data/app and find the Google music app. That is the one you need to remove. Delete the apk file and then go to Google play and install Google music. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the response. I went there, but I don't have a apk for music or google play music
Any other thoughts?

So I have google play music on my phone also, and I cannot find an apk for that either in data/app. Could there be another location for the file?
Do you have a tibu for your tablet?
I cannot think of any other location
Are you running ICS?
If so you might have Google music disabled.
You can find it in all apps in settings on the bottom of the list.
If that's not the case, verify that it is deleted from system/app and data/app. The file name is com.google.android.music-1.apk

I know this thread is over 3 months old, but I ran into this same issue on my Galaxy Nexus after updating the custom rom I am running. To fix it I downloaded the Google Play Music app from here, renamed it to com.google.android.music-1.apk, then used my file manager app (File Expert) to copy it from my Download folder to the /data/app directory. After changing the permissions on the APK to match the others in the same directory, I rebooted my phone to a working Play Music application. Hopefully this helps someone who also experiences this problem.

[Q] Unable to log into 1Mobile

So I've just installed 1Mobile by downloading the APK file to my Win7 machine, and transferring the file to my Kindle. I open ES Explorer and run the install, all of which goes smoothly. The application launches and then I attempt to log into my (Google) account.
At the page which reads "You need to create an account on 1Mobile to use following features:
* Rate Apps
* Review Apps
* More coming soon
[Sign in with Google]
I click the Sign in with Google and the screen disappears and goes to an all white screen. This is all the further I get.
I've uninstalled & reinstalled 1Mobile and tried rebooting the tablet neither of which had any effect. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried downloading and installing the apk from another source?

Google play store

So I rooted a Kindle fire. Added Google framework. Put vending. Apk in system/app folder. I changed permissions. And installed it (I can now download apps and it goes nicely in the app manager for kindle). I tried to install gplay as the final step I get the error application not installed. I do not have a shortcut to get to Google play store. For me to run Google play store. I need to go in system/app directory reinstall vending. Apk and then I can go in app store immediately. Can someone tell me how to get a shortcut for this.

[Q] Google Play store on rooted KFHD Crash

I have just rooted my kindle fire, and i was looking in to getting the Play Store...
I followed Stopxwatch's instructionls, but I've had a few issues:
1. I cant move the files to the /system/app folder, and I cant edit them (THEY DID INSTALL SUCCESSFULLYTHOUGH)
2. The Market without the updated play store(The older market, not the play store) works, but crashes when ever I try to download an app.. (I DID reboot my kindle after installing the vending.apk file, and before opening the the app)
3. When I updated the market to the latest play store, the store crashes.. I've tried rebooting multiple times, but it doesnt seem to work.
Can someone please upload the latest Vending.apk file and Gplay file for me
It will not work without moving to system...
Explain why you can't move them?
If you just can't access system you need to give your file manager root access...
I like es file explorer the root options are in settings to root settings and check all

[Q] Play Store (Download Manager) Crashing

Hey all,
I started futzing with Play Services and the Store and Search in an attempt to fix the nlpWakelock battery usage issue I'd been having on my Moto X, and I can't seem to get it all working again. I can launch the Play Store, but when I attempt to download an app (or update), it crashes (Unfortunately, Play Store has stopped)
I did some noodling around on various forums here and have tried:
wiping data/cache on Store, Download Manager, and Services
uninstalling Store, uninstalling Play Services, and sideloading them both (Store and Services).
removing and re-adding my google account, even trying to download an app with a different acct crashed it.
converting Play Store to a system app in TiBu, no dice.
Moto X
4.4 Rooted
Play Store v: 4.5.10
Play Services v:4.2.43
edit: Download Manager v: 4.4-5
I was going to uninstall the store and look for the apk for the previous version and attempt to install that to see if it'll work..
any ideas?
worst case scenario I can do a TiBu backup and factory reset, but my question there is... will I need to re-root 4.4? (probably, right?)
thanks all!
josh
Alright so I used TiBU to removed Download Manager and Downloads... and now the Play Store doesn't crash, if I try to Download something it just hangs on "downloading" and never starts... I grabbed two APKs from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/request-download-service-apk-to-fix-t2421314
and used root explorer to move them into sys/app and install.. DownloadProvider.apk and DownloadProviderUI.apk ... but I can't seem to get them to install.
any ideas?
thanks!
josh
