[Resolved] Rom manager has downgraded my CWM recovery !

Hi there,
I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 to root and install CWM recovery on my Note XXLRK.
After reboot, I had CWM 6.0.1.4.
Then I installed app I had in my old phone : rom manager. It told me to flash recovery to be able to use it, so I did it.
It flashed to version 6.0.1.2 !
I tried to flash again with root method below but recovery still to 6.0.1.2 now.
I've heard about brick risk when flashing a rom with this version.
How can I upgrade recovery back to 6.0.1.4 ?
Is it dangerous to flash a rom (cyanogen 9.1) with cwm 6.0.1.2 ?
Thanks
Seems I have no answer yet, I'm sorry I have forgotten to say it was a question !
So here new informations :
I updated with new 2.7 pack (posted by PhilZ today).
Now I have :
- CWM touch 6.0.1.4 when I start with vol up + home + power
- CWM 6.0.1.2 when i select "reboot in recovery mode" in rom manager...
This doesn't really disturb me, I just hope it will not cause problem when I'll flash to cyanogen mod 10 (I'm on stock ICS 4.0.4 right now)
If someone could confirm it will not blow up...
Thanks in advance
As far as I know, rom manager is not compatible for now, so better not use it.
Thanks for your answer.
Should I uninstall it, or can I keep it but just don't use it ?

[PARTIALLY-SOLVED] Galaxy Ace S5830 - Can't boot into cwm recovery

Dear Community, greetings.
I have a problem as wrote in the title: I can't boot into cwm recovery. I am gonna try to summarize the main points that lead me here.
Assumption
I used to install custom ROMS flawlessy, following always the instruction etc...
Last rom I've installed was CM7.2 Apocalypse, Project Silk and Link2SD
I needed to restore stock rom
I searched with Google and came across the following solutions
I searched on XDA and came across the following solutions
What I have done...
I flashed using odin 4.38 -> GB 2.3.6 2012 October 2.3.6 S5830XWKTS S5830ITVKT2 downloaded from sammobile.com
I rooted the phone with upd_1.zip (that is attached to this thread)
I tried to install recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip
...and trying to boot into recovery pushing POWER BT + HOME BT the phone stucks on the screen with "Galaxy GT-S5830" and the top-left corner was green
What I have done #2
I tried to use S5830XXKA6 but I dind't neither managed to boot properly (wiped data/factory and cache)
Tried to flash CWM directly with Odin using "One Package"
Could you kindly help me out?:fingers-crossed: I am also willing to give you further information as you ask.
Thanks everyone for your time.:good:
F.
---- PARTIAL FIX by myself ----
1. Format the sdcard in linux with GParted (you need to install android-tools-adb, android-tools-fastboot)
2. Flashed stock firmware S5830XWKTS S5830ITVKT2 with ODIN Multidownloader 4.38 (downloadeble from www.sammobile.com under ITALY)
3. Rooted with upd_1.apk and updated with Superuser 3.0 (attached)
4. Installed CWM 6.0.1.4
5. Restore an old backup of mine.
6. Rejoice
But your Phone is still working right ?

First of all, thank you very much for the reply. Then, the answer is yes and no. I flashed several firmwares. Some of them did work, others don't. Right now I managed to use the one I've mentioned before and
S5830XWKT7_S5830ITVKT1_ITV
S5830XWKP6_XWKPN
but trying S5830_XXKA6 it goes in bootloop also wiping data and cache.
Further information:
I noticed a problem with CSC. While booting in standard recovery an error message appeared saying something like "can't open /system/csc/XEU/system", so I've created the whole directory path and put the files that were in /system/csc inside. This issue is fixed. I am going to investigate and let you know if with other firmware I listed above I get the same behaviour.

He flashed with Odin, so his recovery must have been flashed back to stock. :/
@OP, flash a "Full-package" file with Odin and see what happens
Re: [TS] Galaxy Ace S5830 - Can't boot into cwm recovery
You could alwayd manually move recovery.img with dd commands to your partitions
But atleast you should have recovery 3e if you reflashe odin rom

Try flashing this:
CWM 5.0.2.6. FIX
When your system reboot, wait until Android boot again, install TERMINAL EMULATOR's app and type this commands:
Code:
su
reboot recovery
After you've done it, your device'll reboot into recovery mode automatically

[Q] How do I install something via DD / Terminal

Hey guys, a noob reporting here. I recently rooted my phone using @Shaaan 's method, thanks a lot bro.
Now I want to install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873119
I want to do it without increasing the binary counter. What the hell is DD? or Terminal?
Is this a software or an app, or would I have to install Linux to use Terminal

search google play for 'terminal' and pick one you like
I am using 'Terminal IDE' but there are many others to chose from ;]
dd is command to type inside that terminal - you can use this:
Code:
$ su
# dd if=/sdcard/kernel.bin.md5 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p15
# reboot
that is mentioned in that thread from within terminal on your cell - not necessarily from adb shell on your pc (reboot might not work - in that case just reboot using power button as usual ;p)
I did it exactly same procedure installing ThunderZap on JB from inside cell using terminal app.
Other option you might want to try is to use Universal Kernel Flasher by frapeti (here on xda or on google play)
Oh god I flashed that using PC, and after it rebooted, it is stuck on the Galaxy S Advance splash screen. how long am I supposed to wait.

go into recovery mode (vol up + home + power) and clear cache / dalvik.
if no go try download mode and re-flash whole firmware with odin.

One more problem, when I type adb shell and then type adb devices, it shows list of devices attached but the list is empyt even though my phone is connected and usb debugging is enabled? What do I need to do?
Do I need to go to stock recovery and select install from adb?
See this screenshot please.

about pic nope its form abhi922 thread thx 2 him
nope its not working , the phone bricked again
set everything like the pic .... even i format the system after wiping still no hope....
Okay follow this.
- First flash stock Rom and kernel in odin.
- Go to stock recovery and flash cwm.
- In cwm flash biel's kernel.
- Still in cwm, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dilvik cache, format data, format system.
- go to mounts and storage and mount everything. So it looks like "unmount/system unmount/data etc"
- after mounting it all flash the Rom.
- after flash don't exit recovery. Mount everything again and flash the Rom again. (you should still be in the temporary cwm. Not biel's kernels cwm.)
- now reboot and wait 5 minutes.
- if it doesn't boot, then hold power button for 5 seconds so it reboots.
- Again wait 5 minutes.
- if it still won't boot then i have no idea.

And do you root your phone? If don't root, you can't install any rom or custom kernel.

Ohh ok! I never heard that before. Now, I know.
I do it so
Flash stock rom via odin and "wipe data/factory reset" on STOCK recorvery
Then follow steps
0. And of course remember, you need 50% or more battery!!!!!
1. Go to ClockWorkRecorveryMode
2. Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache
3. Mount system
4. Flash bieltv.3 lastest kernel
5. Go to advanced--> reboot recorvery
6. Flash CM 7.2 RC 4
7.Mount system
8. Flash Gapps
9. Reboot
10. Wait untill phone boots
That alway work on me
