I have had this error on my phone for a few weeks now and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it...

I have rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled the app in question and I just can't seem to get rid of it. Any help would be great. Thanks
bump
Seen that before. Not sure why it happened. Have you tried clearing cache and data for the app in system / apps?

Yeah. I read about that in another thread or forum. Didn't do anything but clear my log in details.

Hi this is my first post on xda so hope I'm doing everything right.
I tried to open the news app to view my subscriptions, but it just flashes and closes again, I've deleted the data and force closed it in app manager and restarted my phone but still does it, any ideas anyone thanks.

I had the same issue - after deleting the data, both the application and the widget won't open. Did a factory reset and now everything works .
I've been messing with my Captivate a lot for the past few weeks, rooted and flashed once I got sick of waiting for an update. I've tried most of the major roms out there and am having a great time learning about it all.
I have a problem and would appreciate some advice on the simplest way to solve it. Whenever I try to enter the image gallery, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then it vibrates a few times and kicks back to the home screen and gives me a failure notification. It does this regardless of what rom I'm running so I'm assuming it has something to do with the file structure on the card? If I data reset, will this fix it?
I looked around but didn't see an apparent answer for this specific issue. Thanks
Try this, download sgs tools from market. Goto uodate stock apps select gallery

Hmmm, I downloaded it and it doesn't seem to do that much. I don't see any options like that for sure. What is that program supposed to do?
After I posted I realized the app I referenced is not on the market.
Have you tried deleting app data
settings, applications, manage, all, gallery, delete data

This is the app I was talking about

wow, thanks! That did it. I just upgraded the stock app and it's fine now. This app looks really useful, what are some of its other uses?
Secret codes gets you into a bunch of useful things
like lbs test mode for gps
the updated gallery you installed is also supposed to help battery somehow.
I do not use it all too much though, but I keep it around

I backed up my ROM and rebooted. It gave me a System UID error (screenshot attached). What's the right way to go about fixing this? I have not felt Amy kind of instability so far.
Thanks.

It's probably one of the benchmark programs, you can clear its data. Not Antutu, can't remember which one.
Ok so its quadrant that is misbehaving. I tried to find it in apps to clear data but its not there yet the icon still exists in my app drawer. I can't launch it either. I went to play store and it says quadrant not installed. Tried installing and I get an error.

What the heck, I am so sick of this disrupting me 4 times a day!
Do I have this because I used moborobo to transfer my stuff?
No one else but me is dealing with this, 4-5 times per day? No one else?

Apparently so!
I'm not sure how to help but let me try.
What's the phone doing when you get these errors?
Have you changed the dpi to the app or your phone?
Do you have a logcat file of when this event occurs?
Some things you can try are wiping data and cache of the app. Try removing your account off your device, and re adding your account again. This cleared up some errors for me before.

What IS mobomarket?
Did it come stock on my phone or was it synched from my pc after I downloaded moborobo to transfer my data?
It didn't come with the phone. It's a third party app. Feel free to remove it.

Thanks,
That takes care of auto updating, what about auto synching? (I didn't "update" any of the mobo stuff, it was synched)
Goto system settings then accounts and sync

heya....app data sync is the phones information that is transmitting itself to google. people details, app congigs, pics contacts...all of that. under your accounts setting, under google, you should see a tick box for app data. thats what is failing in your words. i think you should start by going into settings/apps/running/ find the sync service, force stop, clear cache and go from there. or you could just clear all your dalvik/cache in recovery if you havnt in awhile. would do some good for your processing since more mem would be avail afterward. hope this helps some.
I ended up doing a factory reset via recovery. Thanks for your help though. I now know what App Data sync is.
