I've just moved over to Orange UK with my new HTC One, from O2.
I am unable to send or receive MMS on it.
I have managed to send from my O2 phone, but they don't arrive on my One, and I cant even get them to send the other way.
Anybody else having this problem ?....Advice how to sort ?...Orange had told me to add additional "orange" MMS vpn stuff, (the phone has EE settings) still no joy

Try going to settings, mobile data, access point names, press menu then reset to default.

Welcome to Orange Uk......I have NEVER been able to send MMS on my GS2 despite many calls to Orange , I have 50MMS allowance on my contract too! I've tried all the various APN settings from Orange various Web sites, forums etc, nothing works. I gave up wasting my life trying to resolve it and use Whatsapp Dropbox etc now. It seems a common, non device specific problem with Orange .
You can check your HTC One is correctly set up for MMS by sending a MMS to yourself, I.e. mms a photo to your own mobile number from your own mobile, does that make sense? If the phone is set up correctly then you should get the photo back to yourself . That proves the phone is okay and the problem is with orange.
Oh and orange have put my monthly payments up twice on my 2 year contract.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using XDA Premium HD app
Well my mms came through 8hrs after sending them
One of the reasons I left O2 was them putting the price up within contract, the other was poor data reception in my home, orange has a brilliant signal in my house, don't have to keep turning on wifi now anymore!

Could be carrier issue. Stock ROM? If non-stock, try another ROM or flash to the stock and see if persists. If so, call carrier.
I also get this - I get the message to say that MMS download is beginning and then it goes away for a couple of hours until the message finally appears. This is a T-mobile UK vario III on the stock ROM and in a good 3G/HSDPA area.
Not seen many other people with the problem though.
Jon
I'm on T-Mobile in the UK and get the same problem, I have noticed it seems to be even worse if activesync is working.
It can take up to a couple of hours to receive or send an MMS. I'm running the phone unmodified straight out of the box.
I am also on Tmobile UK network but have not noticed any significant delay sending or receiving MMS or SMS. I think the problems are more likely to be network or server related.
Just tested sending a VGA sized photo from my Kaiser to my wifes SE K610 by MMS and replying and in both cases the message was sent and received in under 2 minutes.
I have had SMS go missing for hours at a time in the past. The record for me is an SMS sent at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve which did not arrive until 4pm New Years Day. I put this down to network/server congestion. On the rare occasions I am unable to send an SMS or MMS straight away I have found cycling the Radio off and on sorts the problem out.
It can be dificult to pinpoint reasons for delays but the message may be delayed at any point between Senders Phone, Cell Tower, Carrier Network, Message server, Gateway, Receivers Message Server, Carrier Network, Cell Tower and Phone.
Hi there, I searched around and couldnt really find anything that would help me. I Am using an HTC Tytn 2 and my Service Provider is Rogers. I have a data and phone plan with them so i know i get to send MMS messages, as I have already sent them before. All of a sudden I cannot. They sit trying to send and then just sit in my outbox. Any Ideas?
Adrian
Same problem here
I have the At&t tilt but unlocked it to work with Tmobile...Can't send or recieve mms. Dont have a data plan but have wifi in my home and it still says i can't download. Help please...Thanks
you guys need to read plain and simple...
so instead of just making a remark, could you not possibly point in the right direction. I bet it would be more useful
Hey everyone,
I face a SMS sending problem. I'm texting to Australia quite often and I'm (different to my t-mobile button above) with E-Plus. A long time me and my partner down under had no trouble sending/receiving text messages. But lately only half my texts get through.
We had a problem earlier this year when she was with Optus. All of a sudden my messages did not get through anymore. All of them. Then she changed to Vodafone and it seemed to work. But E-Plus (I'm actually with MedionMobile, just using E-Plus network) made their messages cheaper and now I face this problem!
It's really anoying. Now -
when I have such a problem - does it have anything to do with my Radio / Rom installed on the phone? Or is this just a network fault?
Would changing to Vodafone solve this problem since Vodafone Germany and Vodafone Australia are partner networks?
It's just that E-Plus is so much cheaper (1/3 of the price for a SMS!)
Please try to help me!
Is your operator billing you for the txts? If so, you can be sure they're transferred to your operators server correctly and your phone's alright. But you probably won't be able to get a deeper insight into what happens after that- if and where your txts are lost....
Changing networks MIGHT help, but don't count on it.
You might wanna try sending your txts using an internet-based service?! just to check... and, btw, that might be cheaper, too. I remember seeing a tool that allows you to send txts via internet-based services from your xperia using your data connection. i just can't seem to find it right now.
first: thanks for your help!
My operator is billing me for the text messages, yes. So they send it correctly. I even tried out to get a confirmation for sent items, you know? I always get the message that it has been delivered. But then she does not get the message...
I tried out to send messages from two of my class mates and from my mums phone as well as from my dads phone. Their messages all get through...
I think I know what you mean with internet based SMS sending. Innosend is such a service, huh?
But items sent throught that service do not get stored in my SMS store...But I will try it out, I guess. As well as I try a Vodafone SimCard.
I hope there is nothin wrong with my phone...
Out of interest, what phone does your partner have?
Oh, I think you got me there. Long time it was a Sony Ericsson...older one. But she got a new one two weeks ago or so. But I don't think it's her phone because the fault occured on both, her old and her new phone. I'll write it in here as soon as I know...
Ah ok cool. The reason I was asking: When I got my Xperia I soon realised that my gf was only getting around half the texts I was sending. It drove me crazy as nothing seemed to fix it - I got my phone replaced, she got hers replaced, we both got new SIMs. Just like you, the texts were showing up on bills, and O2 could see them going through their message centre, so they could not identify the problem.
Eventually I figured it out, my gf did not receive my messages when they were longer than a single message. Anything more and it simply did not show up on her phone (LG Renoir), but still seemed to send successfully and show up on my bill. I then realised that the same thing happened when sending long texts to my friend (also an LG, but a Viewty). They can both get long messages from other people, just not me, so I think there must be some sort of incompatibility between the Brands/softwares.
Probably of no help to you really, but maybe you send long messages too?
No, it's fine since I experience such a thing on my own now. Thanks for sharing! I'm gonna ask her what kind of phone she uses now. Today I removed the SIM Card from my phone and replaced it. The Xperia did a new setup on my network and afterwards my 2 sent messages came through. Maybe I just had to do that because I flashed a new Rom and later a new Radio without renewing my network options...
As you, I do not have a clue where the problem is...But also takin my mums T-Mobile Sim Card in my phone she got all messages. I believe it's the operator...I keep you guys updated when I have my Vodafone card or if it should work normally now...
Thanks for your help. Always appreciated!
edit:yes, I experienced that longer messages have less chance to get through. Sometimes they are messed up or just the first part (first 160 characters) get through...hmm
I got a HTC HD7 unbranded since today.
Everything is fine except MMS. I cannot send or recieve MMS.
The one I recieve are stored to Swisscom and not the phone. The one I try to send are not sent with an error message like "impossible to send message"
3G is on, I have tried to install HTC Config Connexion and launch it, but withtout success.
Does anyone had the same issue with Swisscom or other carrier ?
Thanks for your answer,
Mav
are you using the phone with the same carrier it was setup for?
Have you tried to add apn settings?

Every carrier has a specific number for its mms to transmit, when in your mms settings there is a SMS center number, check and make sure it is correct for the carrier you are using.
I guess the first question to ask is, do you regular SMS work? or both giving you errors?

I have seen this APN setting, but I don't know where to put all these settings, I have found one place about APN, but I can enter only 3 settings...so this will not work.
SMS are working fine and data connection is on.
I will continue searching.....but if you have other ideas, don't hesitate to contact me.
Had the same issue and called Swisscom.
Result: You don't need to configure anything on the phone, BUT Swisscom needs to activate the MMS service for your device. Don't ask why, but it worked, I just had to restart my HTC HD7
i have had nothing but bad luck with my brand new s6 on tmobile.
the main issue:
outgoing sms messages take at least 45 seconds to either get marked as send, or fail. when the fail, they are actually being sent. when they send, they send twice. 30% of the texts i send from my phone and to my phone do not make it to their destination at all.
fixes i have tried:
disabling volte, disabling wifi calling, switching back to stock messaging, factory resetting
tmobile support swore that a new sim card would fix the issue. it did not.
then support guaranteed me that a factory reset would fix the issue. against my better judgment, i reset the device. naturally, this made it worse; when i turn my phone on now i have zero bars of service for at least 5 minutes. literally no service. i am in nyc and normally have 5 bars of LTE.
nobody will recognize that this is actually a problem with tmobile, yet when i google "tmobile can't text over wifi" i get pages and pages of people with the exact same issue over years. reading through those threads there is no solution because tmobile support closes every one of them after 36 hours of inactivity, assuming the problem has been solved. what the **** kind of customer support is this?
texting is my primary form of communication and i am unable to use it. this is unacceptable behavior for any phone, let alone a brand new $700 super-hyped phone. i was on verizon for ten years and it never lost a single text. it's worth noting that there were similar issues with my last phone, an s4.
is nobody else having these issues?

I have the S6 on T-Mobile. I can text just fine using the stock app. Both SMS and MMS. Play with your APN settings, OR, use textra SMS. There is an option under MMS specifically for sending MMS while using wifi on T-Mobile.

When i left Verizon a few years ago for t-mobile, i had had plenty of texts not making it to their destination, so trust me, verizon is not perfect. (they should be though with the amount that they charge)
Try using IP v6 in your settings...
Then try IP v4 in your settings
Then try IP v4 / v6 in your settings and see if that helps with
Native texting App text to yourself to test.
Restart each change of APN.

Use to happen to me at least once a month on Verizon. T-Mobile hasn't lost one text for me yet. I keep asking myself why I stayed with big red for so long.
Reflash the original firmware - wipe everything start over. My GS6 works fine for me

IPv6 is what newer phones are coming preset with as opposed to IPv4 since that is what is correct going forward, per T-Mobile.

still waiting on my replacement device, but here's an interesting thing i realized today: this problem only occurs in my apartment. BUT i am not connected to wifi (it's turned off and i told android to forget my home network), and i'm on a 9th floor apartment with no other buildings around me. i've never had reception issues in the past here...this doesn't make sense to me at all
I'm using a T-mobile S6 since April 10th. I use Textra also over WiFi with 0 issues. All sms and mms come and go without issue.

Same, guess we're fortunate lol. I haven't seen or heard any text related issue specific to the S6, I know MMS is sometimes wonky with T-Mobile while connected to WiFi
