I don't know what I did
One day, my Nexus One can't flash anything . I finally realize the problem is that it can't mount system
I can't flash anything , ROMs, partitions, etc

Does your recovery work or does it boot into recovery safe mode?
If yes then, your system partition may be corrupted. If you can use fastboot then flash the recovery.
Try it. Recently I had a similar issue.

ok then try to reflash the recovery
I've tried that aswell looks like I will have to go back to stock and root again

Had a brain fart earlier and started to install a backup over the stock rom. Pulled the battery as soon as I figured out what I did, and now it won't go past the red M. When I try to flash via RSD, it gets stuck on #5, and reads
"Failed Flashing Process. 5/24 oem fb_mode_set -> Phone returned FAIL."
Any ideas? I can't find the files for the one-click recovery, and trying the other threads' suggestions didn't work.

Are you on stock kernel? I would do a nandroid backup, wipe everything except SD and then restore
I would also try to reinstall recovery image as well. Sounds like something with the read/write got corrupt

After unlocking my bootloader, I am trying to flash CWM recovery. However after flashing CWM recovery, while in fastboot mode, when I select the recovery option in fastboot mode it just restarts the device.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Could there be something I am doing wrong that is causing this to occur?
Are you using vol up to select or pwr? I think when selecting recovery the select button Is vol up instead of pwr.

I clearly can't read, thank you for pointing this out. It is now working properly.
Bootloaders are clearly confusing and scary places to spend time on your phone...they demand your full attention and the more you read and understand before you get in there the better.
Glad you figured it out!
What method was used for unlocking the bootloader?

Flash a custom recovery through fastboot, then you can easily install SU through one of the many flashable packages.
I think the CWM installer even has the option to root the first time you boot to it. I had the SuperSU.zip lying around, so I just threw that on my internal card in case it's ever needed again. Originally my unlock code wasn't in Motorolas database, so it took a bit of talking with CS to finally get my unlock code. It sounds like they've uploaded all of the device_ids since then though, so you should be good to go.

I like TWRP myself, couldn't I flash TWRP through Goo Manager. But CWM has ability to root, wow that's interesting. Btw, where do you get the SuperSU.zip from?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
To root after. Just flash cwm, boot into recovery and then select reboot. This then gives you the option to delete recovery file and also root

I have an old nexus one, which I'm trying to set up for my kids to play games on.
It's currently running cyanogenmod 7 and I tried to just to a factory reset, but it's now stuck in a boot loop.
I'm hoping to just download and flash a stock rom in the hopes of getting it working again. But the only way I've ever flashed it and the only instructions I can find all flash a zip from the sd card, but this phone no longer has an sd in it.
Does anyone have any advice on flashing without an sd?

Adb sideload through a compatible recovery
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks, I'll look into that.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
The only compatible recovery I can find is twrp, which constantly fails to do things because it's trying to mount an sd card that isn't there...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
There's amonra clockwork and 4ext also, of hand not sure what has sideload functionality
Can you not borrow a sdcard for a bit and then return it?
