Got my Xperia TX today!

After being very happy with my Xperia S and Xperia Ion, I was eagerly waiting to get my hands on the TX, so was very happy when it arrived this morning!
It's a beautiful phone - photographs don't really do it justice, and it has a nicer feel in the hands than either the GSIII or the One X. Came with 2 NFC tags, a decent pair of earphones, and the usual factory-installed screen protector.
The screen is beautiful, without the super over-saturated colours that are on the SIII. Camera is also excellent, but have only taken a couple of shots on it so far.
Can't really comment on the battery life yet, although it does drain quickly at the moment - possibly because I haven't yet given it a full charge.
Only problem so far is that Gapps aren't installed on it - unsure as how to work around this so will have to research!

I would miss LTE

I'm not sure to be honest, but it doesn't really matter anyway as LTE isn't available over here anyway.
Forgot to mention - the TX also comes preinstalled with all the Bond wallpapers, themes and ringtones as the T does, so both models have them!

All I remember is difference from TX and T was the LTE lol

Er...I'd love to help but I wouldn't have the first clue on how to make a video review, and I'm sure listening to me drone on about the phone would impact Sony's sales so greatly they'd be forced to shutter in a month!
I bought it in China, and paid RMB 3050 - which is about 300 GBP. Unlocked handset.
Been playing with it all day, it has the fastest Internet Browser of any phone I have used yet, and is super, super smooth - I can't wait to see what it will be like when Jelly Bean comes out!

I thought it was a need to bring from China. Now, I saw more Chinese online shops but I don't understand their language so makes it hard to buy it. The best solution would be to ebay in English but do not have that. Maybe you can help for me?

Just a quick update - the Ion Bootloader unlock method works perfectly. All I need to figure out now is how to root it....
I'm going to post some sample shots taken with the camera tomorrow!

Where, when and how much for boot loader unlock? Last I heard it was around 40 but the server was offline indefinitely.
Current Phone: LT28 - Sony Xperia Ion | Rooted ICS
Retired Phone: HTC Inspire 4G | IceCold 8.2 / dual pane - 160DPI

It's not a carrier branded phone so he probably means the official Sony method works.

hehe i know you from the xperia s forums ... im not sure yet if im going to switch from xperia s to xperia t ... could get it for less than 400€ ... but thinking about it i am really happy with my xperia s ...
codeworkx did switch from samsung to sony now ... same happened to me at the beginning of this year ... maybe the xperia s can also profit

I could get it for free with my current contract, but somethings holding me back i dont know ..

After years of being an early adopter, I have decided to wait a bit before getting ANY new phone (a lot less headache). Will be getting Xperia T for sure, but first I want to hear from Sony when will JB update come out.

Did you read the instructions that came with your phone...hard reset it. Press volume up and power button together for 5 seconds

[Q] Returning my Xperia TL, Suggestions on what to get? (AT&T)

I have the Xperia TL lt30at, I LOVE it . Sadly though, it cannot be rooted because bootloader unlock allowed is set to no:crying:. I was given 2 weeks to try this phone out which will be up this friday and I would like to get a phone that can be rooted and is on par or better than the TL. I also have this thing called "trade up" which allows me to trade in my phone for 75% (300$) of its value (400$) credit towards a new phone at any time. So I can trade in for the Z if/when it comes out for AT&T if/when it comes out in the US. What on AT&T market right now for 400$-500$ should I grab? I'm new to Android from iOS and jailbreaking and the TL is my first android and I have loved it. So XDA, please help me out a bit and toss your opinions around. I will give thanks to all who give informative :good: and helpful replies and none to those just being dicks .

Samsung SIII? Similar feature-wise, but slightly bigger. Has LTE and is available through At&t, and also apparently has a big dev community for AOSP, but if you purchase from at&t, it may be a special version in which the bootloader has been locked down. I guess you'd have to do some sleuthing in regards to that. You could always just return your TL to at&t and get an unlocked SIII from a third party; that way you'd know that you'd be able to unlock it...

I considered the SIII but the colors are a bit too saturated and the price tag was just a bit too high for me. Thanks for the response though.

LT30at can be rooted just not bootloader unlocked. Z will not be available on at&t.

Just goes to show how dumb I am.. I thought you had to unlock the bootloader to root... I have read every guide on rooting for it and I must have messed up some place idk wtf

That's the root method to use but you have to install the backup and restore app manually before you do it since at&t removed it from their firmware.

If you really want to switch, I'd say go for an HTC One VX/X possibly the white X. The sounds are much better and the phone feels just sexy in your hand! But you will have a mainstream 8MP camera (if you are concerned about it). I will not recommend Pantech as they are relatively new in the high end smartphone business AFAIK. Buying an Ion will actually be kind of a downgrade from the T. LG is not too durable and the Samsung devices that you have mentioned here seem to be a little outdated. AFAIK.

Thanks for the input man. I like the HTC but the screens seem a bit off colored in pictures compared to the bravia screens. What do you think?

Download the apk for backup and restore. (it's in the link I posted above) Enable unknown sources in your android settings and when you open the apk it will offset you the option to install.

I figured it out with a little more help from a buddy. Thanks so much for all the help and patience. Any suggestions on what to do with a rooted phone? I have lucky patcher for my pandora. What other cool/fun stuff do you suggest? I may just hang in to my TL and trade up when the Z hits at&t. Not sure though

I mainly rooted to remove the bloatware AT&T apps ( but now I use the LT30p firmware so no bloatware from AT&T). Z will not be available through AT&T, would have to get it unlocked instead.

Didn't get 4.3 JB update

hello guys,
i saw that few days ago, 4.3 update started rolling
but i tried through pc companion and it always show that my phone is up to date.
i tried uninstall the application and reinstall it again and still it doesn't show any update also i installed pc companion on another laptop and still it shows that my phone is up to date or maybe its still didn't reach Oman ?!
how many days does it takes to reach all the countries ?!
my z1 is the global version C6903 and im in Oman which is a country in MEA

Now that i know, but im very suprised with how fast the rollouts have been for the latest sony devices
Its only been a few days and most Z1 and Z ultra variants are updated
For the Sgs4 the 4.3 update took 1 month and a half to reach my region and even by them not even half of the variants had it
And that was just one device

That's, I hope, history...
Manufacturers are finally realized that we are reaching top hardware specifications and limits (really needed limits) and the war is starting in software field.
Sony said something like that and that was the reason I stayed in Xperia family (not the only reason, of course but important one).
Devices are very similar if you look specifications and I'm sure the "winner" will be manufacturer who will keep their promises and release upgrades faster than before..

Also, read your own quote, Week Commencing means it can start to be rolled out any time in that week, AND rollouts are never simultaneous, they take up to 2 months depending on your region and carrier....

w/c means week commencing. They have until Friday before you guys should pull out the pitchforks

i don't think sony will release sound bug fix in april because sony release every thing late when it comes to phone business.

Did anyone see a YEAR after the date? I didn't. Hold your horses and chill, as 2015 is almost a year away

No disrespect intended but Sony, as well as other manufacturers, has missed plenty of deadlines. I'm probably much older and have seen Sony (Ericsson) from the start of their foray into the mobile market.
