Got my Xperia TX today!

After being very happy with my Xperia S and Xperia Ion, I was eagerly waiting to get my hands on the TX, so was very happy when it arrived this morning!
It's a beautiful phone - photographs don't really do it justice, and it has a nicer feel in the hands than either the GSIII or the One X. Came with 2 NFC tags, a decent pair of earphones, and the usual factory-installed screen protector.
The screen is beautiful, without the super over-saturated colours that are on the SIII. Camera is also excellent, but have only taken a couple of shots on it so far.
Can't really comment on the battery life yet, although it does drain quickly at the moment - possibly because I haven't yet given it a full charge.
Only problem so far is that Gapps aren't installed on it - unsure as how to work around this so will have to research!

I would miss LTE

I'm not sure to be honest, but it doesn't really matter anyway as LTE isn't available over here anyway.
Forgot to mention - the TX also comes preinstalled with all the Bond wallpapers, themes and ringtones as the T does, so both models have them!

All I remember is difference from TX and T was the LTE lol

Er...I'd love to help but I wouldn't have the first clue on how to make a video review, and I'm sure listening to me drone on about the phone would impact Sony's sales so greatly they'd be forced to shutter in a month!
I bought it in China, and paid RMB 3050 - which is about 300 GBP. Unlocked handset.
Been playing with it all day, it has the fastest Internet Browser of any phone I have used yet, and is super, super smooth - I can't wait to see what it will be like when Jelly Bean comes out!

I thought it was a need to bring from China. Now, I saw more Chinese online shops but I don't understand their language so makes it hard to buy it. The best solution would be to ebay in English but do not have that. Maybe you can help for me?

Just a quick update - the Ion Bootloader unlock method works perfectly. All I need to figure out now is how to root it....
I'm going to post some sample shots taken with the camera tomorrow!

Where, when and how much for boot loader unlock? Last I heard it was around 40 but the server was offline indefinitely.

It's not a carrier branded phone so he probably means the official Sony method works.

Can you confirm that the gpu is an adreno 225?

2 questions
When will this be available, is it after the next upgraded rom from Sony? As I'm not sure how it works with android. Is it per android version or is it device specific?
Also will it not work based on rooting or will it work with the new locked bootloader exploit, as with that you get to keep your drm keys?
Apologies for probably stupid questions, just coming back from a 3 year break from the the dark side.... iPhone 4 & 4S

It will be when Sky Make it work, if the past is anything to go by when Sony Update to 4.2 it will stop working again!

the JB 4.2 for sony gonna come in late march. maybe 10 days later
it will change kernel and OS so firmware. it will be major update

Last time Sky added a bunch of Devices together when they updated the App so it might be they wait and Add the HTC One and the Galaxy S4. As long as we are 4.2 by then there will be no interruptions.

Just skygo didn't work on jail broken devices, was a right pain to get it working in the end! As apple insisted on preventative measures against jail token phones Are sky just as bad on a android?

Yes... Worse the detect rooted unlocked devices in several ways... There was no way to get it working on my note 2 without having stock firmware and kernal
As we do on the z we my be able to use one of the temporary unroot methods
But won't know until sky works in the first place

Nuts, I feared as much

So has anyone got this working on their devices now its been released?
Also does it work rooted or not?
Just picking my XZ up tomorrow so wouldnt mind knowing before i do things that stop the bloody thing working

Well if it wasn't for you posting it here I would have never known it had been released!
It's working for me (non rooted) although I have to adjust the brightness each time I go into a program that is showing as it's very dark to start with...

Im glad ive been of some use once
Aslong as it works, i guess the brightness is a pain but atleast its working.
Now the most important question of all.... does it work on a rooted device

Nope- cant get it to work with my rooted z
Was waiting patiently for it to be upgraded to work, finally gave up and decided to root and Sky released the update the next day!!!

Thats very dissapointing.... but not unexpected

Not getting any update on PC companion or ota

Sorry for opening a new thread but I'm curious why I didn't get any update from sony.
The first update for all sim unlocked was the .350 then the new .434
I didn't get both of them.
I asked this in the thread new C6603 update and no one answered
Can someone explain me why is this happening and will I get any update in the future?

Guys, don't worry. Update will come, sooner or later, we can't affect on it . If this is not your first Android phone, then you know that there is no update for all phones at once. Even Nexus phones don't get update all at once .

WHY would something like this in such a short time span "Really worry" you? Could be some sort of conspiracy I guess.......
Relax, enjoy the phone. So many more important things in life that an update to ones mobile. Rest assured your phone will receive its update but just stay up nights worrying about it. Be thankful you have such a wonderful device and enjoy it. Many millions in this world would enjoy being in your shoes with this phone situation.

Not really. If you're someone who's affected by a number of bugs, you can't really enjoy the phone so would like to have the update as soon as really.

You're absolutely right. But when I have such a wonderful device and 'pricy' , I want to have equal rights like all other users(thinking for the updates)
I'm worried because I think that I will not get any update.Only this.

Hi!
Flashed my Xperia TX with Sony Update Service a couple of weeks ago.
However, my friend wanted to flash his Xperia TX with Sony Update Service yesterday, but he can no longer find this phone on the list.
So I launched Sony Update Service just now, and found out that T, TX, V all disappeared from the list.
Could someone confirm this?

I am 100% sure the TX still does not exist even if I clicked on show all devices.
I clicked on the touch screen device filter on purpose so that I can capture the whole list in only 2 screenshots, otherwise I would have to scroll through the entire list and take numerous screenshots if I selected show all devices.
Also, I think Leo should be able to have TX displayed even if he selected the touchscreen filter.
Maybe the problem only occurs in some regions, or maybe Sony is preparing their upcoming Android 4.3 update for TX, just guessing.

Click on all devices. Even the t doesn't show up in touch screen options but comes up in all devices. And it is not because of region as update service shows phone which I cannot get in uk on there such as xperia gx which is only available in japan (i think)

Then it is quite weird.
TX is not on the list even if I clicked "show all devices" at this time.
However, I am pretty sure the TX was on the list a couple of weeks ago.
Also, the Japanese GX does not appear on the list, too.

I agree with this guy who posted a thread.It's depending on country which you picked.I confirm that Xperia T doesn't exist in "Serbia" list of devices..Because i checked it.I changed country to "United States" and now i have all devices in that list.
So this guy is right,it's possible,not impossible.

Noob question. How does one go about changing region on SUS.

man i just solved this problem after hours of fiddling
i just thought of installing it in windows 7....i was trying in windows 8 and for sum reason the list of phones in win 8 sus was so less....i installed in win 7 cuz i had dual boot .....and then i got the whole list... i also had two setup of sus...one old version and one new one....i installed old one in win7 and then it updated to latest version and then i checked the mobile list and all mobiles were there so i was confused abt whether it was the version problem or sumething so i tried installing the same old version in windows 8 and then updating it....but still window8 sus was not showing all mobiles.....damn this windows 8!....if any1 knows how to get the whole list in win8 plz let me know...i was trying to update my xperia p but only the new phones are there in this win 8 sus

Right-click on icon on desktop(Windows 8)
Select Troubleshoot Compatibility.
Click Troubleshoot Program.
Tick "the program worked in earlier versions of windows....." and click Next.
Select Windows 7.
Click on Test the Program.
Accept Licence Agreement and proceed to next screen. Xperia T, TL,TX, and others not listed before should be displayed now.
If its there now, go back to the Compatibility screen and click on "Yes Save these settings for this program.
Ignore Error messages.
You now have every device I think, showing on your device.
Hope it works for anyone looking for a solution to this problem. Works for me.
I'm no responsible for anything that happens should you use this procedure.

Also, read your own quote, Week Commencing means it can start to be rolled out any time in that week, AND rollouts are never simultaneous, they take up to 2 months depending on your region and carrier....

w/c means week commencing. They have until Friday before you guys should pull out the pitchforks

i don't think sony will release sound bug fix in april because sony release every thing late when it comes to phone business.

Did anyone see a YEAR after the date? I didn't. Hold your horses and chill, as 2015 is almost a year away

No disrespect intended but Sony, as well as other manufacturers, has missed plenty of deadlines. I'm probably much older and have seen Sony (Ericsson) from the start of their foray into the mobile market.
