I got little scratch, so I think it is not Gorilla screen. I do not use protection, it is up to you if you want to use it.

You don't need to use, it is suggested you use it.
Everything looks great, till that moment when time slows down drastically and you see the device doing a free-fall to the floor
in my opinion: Better spend a few pennies for a screen guard, rather then live with a scratch

Screen protector.. to use or not?

Since my diamond will be ariving today i wanted to ask peoples opinion on the (included) screen protector.
- Is it necesarry you think?
- Does it make the screen better (i read somewhere the screen is staticy and with the protector its better
- Did anyone not use it, then apply it and decide it was better/worse? Or use it, then remove it? I'm looking for someone who might be able to compare directly the difference with/without it.
- Does it look odd?
- Can you tell the screen protector is applied?
- Does it have any negative impact on the screen - make it less clear, or make the touch less sensative?
I'm sure everyone will have their own opinion, but i would like to make a decision right away while the screen is clean, and not after a few days when it gets really greasy
I put mine on right after I unpacked and I do not regret ... It`s almost invisible. Screen is clear ... readable. Putting on was easy. I do not want to risk scratching my screen

Diamond just arived.. i havnt peeled the front plastic off yet - dont worry i'm not one of those people who lets it stay there till it looks like ****!
I'll just wait to see if there are any more comments. But right now i'm leaning towards using screen protector.
and btw.. this phone is amazing - pictures and videos dont do it justice!

Lucky so and so...congrats mate...now i just have to wait for mine...as for the screen protector??, id definitely use one. I have one on my ipod touch even though its supposedly scratch resistant. I was under the impression that the Diamond screen was also scratch resistant
yes but you never know and better to use "protection" that to be sorry later ...

Would not say the screen looks better with it but it is certainly better than scratching your screen.

I have not noticed any negative impact so far after 1 week of use.
well i sutck it on.. i was slightly bent but bubble free.. i removed it.. got read to realign it.. got dust underneath.. stuck it on and bubbles..
Massive failure! i never have any luck with screen protectors.. my tryng to make it perfect always screws me up!
remove it - wash it ... use dust remover ... ... since Diamond has no bevels at rear of the screen applying is even easier that with my previous devices ... how to do it ? simply take Credit Card ... put first third of the protector onto screen. From other side put Credit Card and start pushing it while rolling protector onto screen. there should be no bubbles then.

I have aerosol air and a glass cloth to clean the diamond.

Hehe i usually get my brother to do these sort of things for me...hes much better than i am.
Was the screen protector sticky under the side you put on the phone??. If it isnt then one thing i noticed when my brother put my screen protector on my old SE P990i was he dropped a few drops of water on the side of the protector that goes on the phone...so you can easily slide it about till you have it perfect etc.

dont dry it, just let the water excess drop off it naturally then stick it on the phone...like i said in my earlier post, it will make the protector easier to slide about to get the perfect fit. Once you have then seal it down with a credit card pushing the air and excess water off the side. You probably will still have a few air bubbles but over time they will disappear.
great advice thanks!!
I got a couple of tiny bubles i'm working towards the side of the screen and out. That should keep me entertained for the next 10 mins lol.
Almost 100% bubble free now

Hmm i think i can see water marks underneath..
I got to run out now.. not even any time to install anything on it
I think i'll give it one more shot when i get back. At least for now i can take it with me and it wont get trashed!
I hate screen protectors - have always taken them off after 24 hours on every HTC device I have ever had. They usually tint the screen, make it too reflective and reduce the sensitivity and accuracy of the device.
However, I read the above comments and thought I'd give it a go anyway (same as I do with each device).
Blow me - it turns out that for once the HTC screen protector is excellent. You do not notice it there at all.
Very impressed!

Damn you!
I read the first bit and though great i wont have to bother redoing it, but now i do
I ordered a Brando UltraClear screenprotector because I heard great things about these things. It turned out to be true for me.
I always hated screenprotectors because they dimmed my screen and were ugly. This one you can't see and the screen is as bright as without! Excellent!
i fiddled and fiddled with it, but its a mess. I'll order a new one i think.
Biggest complaint so far for me is with touch flow u keep accidentally clicking stuff. Its a big pain in the ass. And its not because i'm clumsy, its just a combination of poor responsivness and bad timeout to calculate what you want to do.

If you mean the responsivness of the touschscreen, this can be adjusted in the registry. The responsivness of the touchflo3d itself on the other hand we have to live with
I've tried several of the tweaks from here on the forum, but it doesn't change it significantly... Not that I'm not happy with te phone... because I am

deep scratch on screen, any scratch remover that you could recommend

hi,
i accidentally scratched my screen, anybody knows what can be done to remedy this?
thanks
actually scratch removers peel down a little bit of your surface and for a touchscreen I can´t recommend any scratch removers at all! Think you have to live with it although even on a normal screen you can´t remove deep scratches only light ones.
though, i think it's there forever mate, a screen change may be?
that's why i always insist on a screen protector since day 1, didn't the package come with a screenguard?
http://www.displex.com/
You can also try and put a screen protector to sort of cover up for it.
yeah, thats what i thought....
thanks for the replies

which one did you use? the protector or the polish? if polist, it actually took the scratch away without harming the touch sensitivity of the screen?
thanks
HTC Diamond Replacement Screen
HTC quoted a friend £75 for labour and brand new replacement screen.
I used the scratch remover.
And it works pretty nice.
i can only see some leftover superficial scratches when the sun shines on it.
i am happy with it.
75 is not bad for a new screen!
Where did he do that?
in the diamond accesory forum, you will find the same topic.

Screen Protection

Does anyone use the screen covers or anything like it? Or does anyone think its pointless? Need some guidance on what to do. Thanks!

i didn't think i did when i got my first g1 but then my jeans put a few small scratches in the screen so when i got second phone a week ago i ordered the ZAGG invisibleshield for it, i haven't gotten it yet but should tomorrow or the next day, but i would definitely recommend getting one.
The absolute best protector I've ever used is the one made by Seidio. It's a dry install and the film is as smooth as the screen itself. I've also used the Zagg Invisible Shield..it's nearly inpenetrable, but it takes away much of the smoothness of the original screen, so your finger won't glide as smoothly. It's texture is also very much like orange peel. Also, you have to use a wet method to install this...it's not really a big deal, but some are weary of taking the risk.
Right now, I'm using the Clear Protector, which is a lot like Zagg, but smoother in texture. Kind of in between the two. Definitely closer to the Zagg though, and the install is done the same way.
For what it's worth, I've thought about it a lot recently. I'm so anal, that if any part of my phone got beat up i'd be irritated and looking to replace it. So if it falls hard enough to scratch the screen either way, it'll probably be getting replaced shortly thereafter... but I also have a dedicated pocket where I don't put anything in with my phone, so I don't have to worry about things like key scratches.
Cliff's notes: You probably don't need one if you're like me...but if you're not, look at the Seidio or Clear Protector.
@uansari1 completely off topic, but i noticed that i can't get the stock cupcake download off of google's code page, so thank you for uploading it somewhere else
i use the screen protectors from tmobile for the mt3g on my g1. they fit perfect and work really well. 10 bucks for 2 was a little steep i thought, but i got to cover both my g1's so it was worth it!

I have the ZAGG full body cover. It's not bad. The protection is great, it ever saved me from cracking my screen a few times butcause of the way it's bonded. The only things I don't care for is the fact that it kinda looks like an orange peel, (you understand when you put it on), and your fingers stick to, rather than glide across the screen.

Make sure you read the directions... Seidio puts a nice tab on their protectors to make installation a breeze. Just make sure your screen is totally dust-free first.

Xperia T - Out of stock

To the proud owners of Xperia T, does the phone come with a factory installed screen protector...
Your reply will help me to save the cost of ordering an additional screen protector...
yes it does
Yes, and the first thing I do is rip it off and don't bother with any, I find screen protectors attract dust and get to easily scratched whilst the main screen is very robust and doesn't get scratched at all....I have done this with all my xperia devices.
Sent from the future on my Star Trek communicator.
Sent from my LT30p using XDA premium.

LOL...i do exactly the opposite....I use a screen protector but I dont like to put any case on it, as it spoils the aethetics. And to why I use screen protector is, because a scratch on the screen will keep bothering me, even though it wouldnt affect the usage...
BTW, factory installed screen protector from sony are quite good imo.
Thanks Greg and Asterix...
Going to order my Xperia T

No, just get your fingernail under it near the top centre and pull it off, its a bit more sticky than non-factory fitted screen proteceters, but it does just pull off
Have just ordered mine, and it was the last piece in stock at Clove Technologies....

Does anybody have some opinion on the camera app and picture quality difference between Stock and AOSP camera apps...

Anyone use a Privacy Screen

I really don't want to put a screen protector on the Note 8 but I really like the idea of a privacy screen. Has anyone been doing any testing and have some recommendations?
Every time I've had one I took it off a few days after. Too hard to see screen.

Thanks
Have seen them around for android devices. However I have seen them all over the place for iPhones...
These privacy protectors are pure crap, will look horrible,, normally, the fingerprints are less visible when screen off, but, with these "privacy" things, the screen look ultra smudged and dirty all the time
