It will not increase counter - even if it will use triangle away to reset it back to 0.
if it is not listed as ready to flash download your firmware from sammobile: direct download link from sammobile and follow 2nd post from that thread.
If you would rather not do it yourself upload your kernel file somewhere and I can repack it for you.
As far as I know triangle away doesn't work on GB?

Odp: [Q] Root I9070 XXLK2 without increasing binary counter
It was not working in i9070 at all. After last update it is working . If still not we got manual way of reseting it and afaik tat manual method is implemented in TA to be done in background after single click.

You need to check your firmware. If your note using India Firmware. You should change your CSC to INU. INU is India CSC. Warning if you change your CSC it will wipe all your data from your note.

Your ROM is non indian, you can't update from kies in india
Use PC odin to update manually.

If i update manually from odin will it void my warranty. If not then how to do it manually.

Recently i got a software update request [OTA] for 36MB. I just downloaded the update[3 times in a row]. but every-time after the phone boots, i get copy media files failed ?? and every ten minutes I'm getting the pop-up "firmware update failed please use pc-kies or contact nearest samsung service center".
@mmohideen90
download the Indian GB ROM in dr. ketan's thread and flash via PC Odin. All instructions are also in the same thread.
Galaxy Note - Kuwait
Hello Guys,
This forum is amazing.
I need advice on updating my firmware. I bought the phone in Kuwait. Now presently in Australia. I want to update the firmware. Please advice.
Phone details :
PDA:N7000JPKK2
Phone: N7000XXKK5(Base Band version)
CSC: N7000OJPKK2
Could u please advice on what i need to do about updating my firmware. Plz advice/help.
@ nischithkashyap
you can download a stock GB from from dr. ketan's thread and flash it.
Or if you prefer ICS you can download it and flash but do not perform a wipe/factory reset once you are on ICS as the dangers of bricking is there.
Can anyone help me out which indian firmware should i install as i see there there are multiple India Firmware.
I dont want to void my warranty

I've run into a similar problem with my International Galaxy Note. I am unable to update via Kies, I get the message that my device does not suport updating via Kies. the phone info is;
Model Number; GT-N7000
Android Version; 2.3.5
Baseband; N7000XXKJ4
Kernel; 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ4-CL641703 [email protected] #2
Build number; GINGERBREAD.XXKJ4
I dont know if this is of any help, but Kies lists the firmware version as: PDA:KJ4 / PHONE:KJ4 / CSC:KJ4 (KOR)
I just want to upgrade to ICS, should I follow the advice from above? Or is there something else I should try?
Hi watchdog-prime
You should install your country firmware from dr.ketans thread with the help of odin and then update the firmware with the help of kies.
I think it should work.I too ask the same question as u did.i was advised by the same and its working fine.........

If you do not want to root and keep your warrenty too, you may not take full benefits of this forum. But that is not the point. As long as you are not rooted, you can approach samsung service center, they provide complete assistence of software and hardware problems. whether the help is direct or indirect, you shall get it here, in this forum. In my opinion, the day is not far, when you will be asking 'how to root' etc.(ofcourse if are adventurous)

Hi there! I apologise for the question as you probably get this a lot.
I can't find a clear and concise tutorial (that i can understand) on how to root my Galaxy S and its specific version.
Can anyone help me and point me in the right direction?
I am not entirely new to rooting as i've rooted my GS3 fairly easily, this however seems more difficult.
Here are my phones information:
Firmware Version 2.1-update1
Baseband Version I9000XXJM1
Kernel Version 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build number ECLAIR.I9000XXJM1
I understand I have to download a kernel of some kind so I can root in within ODIN...however there are so many CF versions I am really stuck
Thankyou in advance and a quick reply would truly be appreciated. Thankyou!
Ok...You are still in froyo so you have to update to gingerbread 2.3.3 then you have to install the "JW4_JW4_JW4" value pack that will update your i9000 to 2.3.6, only now you can flash a rooted kernel..

Rooting Eclair is easy as hell. Just use the one click root tool.

Hey Guys,
I am new to rooting so please take that into account.
Basically what I am trying to do is to root my Samsung Galaxy Note in order to remove the limit of the amount of text messages that can be sent per hour.
I am following this tutorial on how to root it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
Method 1, where you easily just download an app that roots it, does not work for me - this error comes up: FAILURE: Could not root device
Method 2, which is where you download the kernel based on your ROM is what I am now trying to do.
However the link it provides to download the roms from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Does not appear to have my ROM/Kernel. Please help me out.
This is some information about my device:
Model Number: GT-N7000
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: N7000XXLT3
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-1103517
Build Number: JZO54K.N7000XXLT9
Not really sure how to do this. Please advise. Nothing for XXLT3 or XXLT9.
