Hello guys, a question on preview lines in the received email - I am on LSZ, Philz and usually, when there was only 1 email received, I could see couple of lines of it, like header, and part of text, which I found quite cool. In the course of the days I noticed that feature is gone and I am not sure whether it happened by upgrade to Gmail 4.3 or if I just by an accident switched some setting off. Thanks for advise.

OK, figured that out - you need to swipe out the message in the notification with 2 fingers to enlarge it and then there are 2 more buttons revealed with options to replay or archive ... You may also change buttons preference in gmail settings. It was probably stated in update info, but who is reading that stuff anyway ...

Has any one experienced a problem with Touch Flow 3D when the number of new messages displayed by the green number on the messages tab is stuck and won't clear even when all messages have been read in the mail application?
Any ideas of how to clear/reset the Touch Flow 3D so it no longer shows new messages indicator?
To date I have tried several hard reboots, deleted out all recent messages from when this problem began, however it still wont clear.

At your email click on inbox, so your in the Microsoft list view then click on the top left inbox drop down. You will now see the tree of all the email boxes. If you expand the Outlook email you should find that the unread email is the one automatically created in that inbox.

The problem is with the Messages tab, not the Email tab which links to outlook. The Messages tab loads up to ArcSoft Messages application to handle SMS messages. When I go into the inbox of this application there are 0 (zero) new messages.
Go through every msg and wait 5 seconds
Hey did you ever fix this? I have the same issue and it's driving me nuts!
Same here. Nothing above worked. Any other suggestions????
+1 same problem here except on a touch pro, any solutions?
its not removable unless you flash the ROM again
flashing the rom again fixed this issue for me
Inbox clearer
Hey guys I just ran across this thread and have a program to solve your problem. Ive had it around for a while and I do not recall who wrote it but just run the .exe and it should solve your problems. If anyone knows who wrote it feel free to mention.
Thank you for sharing.
I had the same problem. now, it not just 1 sms, but 2 sms.
I try all the solution, except flushing the ROM. can someone teach me how to do that? and what is the risk?
thank you
Guys, can anybody help me with this one?
I'm running Touch-IT 12 on my Xperia but have always had the following issue.
Basically, whenever I receive a new Email message, my phone will not come out of standby to tell me. I have to bring it out of standby myself and then touch the screen in order to see the message number go up.
I have the notifications turned on and have an alert and vibration set for new Email message.
I reads somewhere to change the "AC resuming from suspend time" and "Battery resuming from suspend time" from 1 second to 60 seconds. Done this and after a soft reset, still no joy.
Can someone help with this VERY annoying problem? All I want is to be told when I get an Email! Any help would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Sonny

install xperia tweak and on the front page of it untick disable wakeup on new message
Still no joy
Nope, still no joy.
Also, I've now noticed that if I get a new message on the phone, but don't go into my inbox, when I receive another new message, I will get the notification.
Very strange. I thought it may be down to doing a send/receive in Outlook rather than Live, but still no difference.
Very weird and so so annoying.

Sonny
Dont know how i can help you then mate because i had the exact same problem and it was because i had that box ticked under xperia tweak - hope someone else knows a fix

Are you talking about push/auto update?

I don't have push email. I'm talking about Windows Live sync being set to update whenever a new message is received.
Works fine in pulling the message, just won't sound the message tone or vibrate.
Work Around
Okay, after a lot of testing I've found a work around for my problem, not really a fix.
If I go into one of my other inboxes before going into standby, the notifications work fine.
If the last inbox I went into was Hotmail, then the notification won't work. If I move over to the Outlook inbox or SMS/MMS inbox, and then do whatever I like (except go back into the Hotmail inbox), the notifications work fine.
Not sure if anyone else has this problem. If so, I hope this helps for you too.
Again, this is when setting Windows Live to sync whenever a new message is received. The results seem as good as push email to me.

Sonny
One question: Do you close your inbox properly or do you just press the OK Button?

I close it properly, ie press the X in the corner.
That being said, just tested the other possibility... not closing it properly and just pressing okay. With this leaving Hotmail running in the bakground, it works!
So we've come to the conclusion that minimizing Hotmail by pressing OK works and going into another inbox and properly closing messaging works also!
We're getting somewhere..!
Now only if there was a way to close Hotmail properly and not have to go into another inbox to have the notifications work!

Sonny
That's strange, I had expected the opposite... Perhaps there is a problem with the "wakeup" of tmail.exe... But I really have no idea how to fix this. Isuppose you have tried Softreset?
Ha ha! Tried very many soft resets!
I've had this issue with all of the custom roms I've used (all Itje's). Not sure if it's the roms, or the phone.
Oh well, at least I have a work around for it now. Better than nothing.
hey, i consatntly receive error page of ocurring with my tmail.exe.
what is tat and why is it appearing? what is happening?
i still cannot get mail notification at all..........
Now I have an issue with the notifications engine, but the reverse!
I use Manila which reflects perfectly new emails on the email icon in the slider tab, so I don't want the envelope to appear on the bar at the top. I've disabled all notifications for email (activesync), and of course the little envelope still appears.
It also remains there with a logic I haven't been able to define, even after opening the email, so I find myself going into the notifications screen to "dismiss all".
Would anybody know how to definitively stop the notification appearing at the top of the screen in the first place?
oh. wat i wan is opposite of urs.
any1 care to help?
Hi I just bought my x2 and it is a nice phone what can I say more but I was quite surprised that my sms notification doesn't include a vibration or is there any program that can help me change my sms signal and to put a vibration.
Thanks
you have to go into the sounds and notifications settings to turn on vibration and illumination for each individual item.
click on start, then settings, then personal then you will see "sounds and notifications" theres a selection of tabs along the bottom, the fourth should be "notifications" from there u can individually select missed call, sms, email etc and change its settings.
although theres definately a bug where it will vibrate for some sms messages and then not for others! also the LEDs dont always work. i believe this is one of the bugs theyre intending to fix on one of the upcoming updates. the next is due in march and another in may..
thanks for the answer I've did what you said and I hope it will work but I've just discovered that I receive my massages with a delay and probably some of them I don't receive at all GRRRRRR new phone new problems
do you know which firmware you have? i know some have the R1AA93 firmware but theres a newer R1AA97 try using the sony update software and checking if you can update your phone.
ive not noticed any delay in recieving messages. just that i dont get notification when they arrive. especially if the phone screen is off then sometimes theres no LED or vibration or sound. i hope this is one of the bugs they fix first next month since its quite an important feature of a phone to know when you get a message!
I apologize if this has been asked/resolved before, but I searched the forums and google quite a bit to no avail. I have found other instances of people with this issue but have not found a resolution yet.
Every time I receive a single text message, I get a notification on the unlock screen that says I have 2 texts. When I unlock the phone and pull down the notification area, it lists the 2 texts. One of the texts is the actual text i just received and I can access it just fine. The other text listed is a text from weeks ago that has long been deleted, including the entire thread it was in. This ghost text will not go away.
I can clear the notifications and it goes away, but as soon as I receive another text from anyone, it pops up there again. I have tried some other solutions that popped up on google. These were to download the SMS Cleaner app and search by keyword. Upon doing this, the app does not find any texts with the keywords from the ghost text.
I have also tried replying to the text to create a new thread and maybe try to delete it again, but even when the new thread is created/deleted the ghost text comes back.
I also turned off/on text notifications several times also combined with power cycling the phone, which did not solve this either.
Note: This text was from a room alert system in our server room at work. It sends email alerts that we then have converted to text message and sent to our phones.
Not sure if it being an email has anything to do with it, but I have received these alerts several times before without any of them getting stuck.
My phone is still on 2.1 and was rooted using Unleash the Beast.
Anyone have the same problem, or any ideas? Is there a folder that holds texts somewhere in the root file system that I can clean out?
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give as much detail about the problem as possible, this has been annoying me for weeks.
Try deleting the email alert? Just spitballing...
This happened to me last night!
I keep getting the same Ghost Txt message
The only way i can think to get rid of it would be a Data Reset.
But i dont wanna erase my whole phone cuz of a software issue that may happen again!
Have u fixed it?
No, still no luck on this. Anyone have any ideas?
I had a problem similar to this with the dumb phone that i had before my Captivate. I called AT&T customer support because I didn't want to reset my phone and they got it resolved. Apparently there was a message stuck in their server marked as unread, but since it had been read on my phone it said 0 new messages. This might work for you, too?
Solved
Open the spot where notifications are read the phone number and send a text to it, it will open the message thread and you can delete it there

Looks great. Does it support the lock screen?
Good thing? ?
Is it possible to have smaller pictures, or choice to select picture size in the future Or have 4x4, 4x2, etc. ?
I like to see more favorite contacts at once on home screen.

Good widget:good:
Awesome widget! The only thing I wish it had is an option to force a confirmation pop-up window when clicking on a contact. or something like that. I find myself calling people by accident when I put the phone back in my pocket.
Cheers!
I don't know if this is possible with future updates but I figured I'd throw it out there:
It would be cool if this app could somehow pull data from Calendars or Facebook and let you know "its so-and-so's birthday today" as a reminder for you to call them.
