Hi guys,
I just bought a Galaxy Ace M240S Korean version and want to get rid of all the korean stuff on it. I've tried different solution I found on the Internet, but neither of them solved my problem so far. The main problems is that it constantly thinks it's in roaming mode and pops a lot of messages about it (since I'm not at Korea) and the dial application has two green buttons "to global" and "to korea". It's unblocked and works properly though.
Is there a way to reinstall the stock version on it or get rid of all the korean stuff?
Thanks!

Do you know where I can find these ROMs? I've googled it, but didn't find anything so far...
1) To flash stock rom
Try google "How To Flash Original Stock Rom on S5830".
Try to learn how to use Odin to flash stock rom. You can get the firmware for you device from sammobile.
PS : Please check whether your phone is S5830 or S5830i . You doesn't want to brick your phone permanently right.
2) Alternatively
Root your phone. try google "How to root s5830".
After rooted, check the root permission with Root Checker.
If successful, search for Root Uninstaller.
Open the app, an CAREFULLY uninstall the Korean app.
Hope this help..

Hi everyone,i got some questions about rooting a samsung galaxy tab gtp1000 running in 2.2 froyo android.
Does rooting a galaxy tab without flashing anything to it has risk of bricking it ?
Well I just want to uninstall old apps and install some apps required root access such as sixaxis controller support, droidwall, adblocker for browsers, new sywpe (mine has preinstalled sywpe and unable to upgrade to latest version).
Well iam not really sure what does rooting means.does rooting means example creating a adminstrator account and has access to everything ? without any risk except upgrading android version like 2.2 to 2.3 ?
Hope someone can answer my question
Thank you very much

You should be able to use SuperOneClickRoot if you're going to stay with froyo (2.2) and shouldn't have to worry too much about bricking anything (these devices are hard to brick in general worst you do is soft brick and have to go back to stock) Rooting is exactly like having adminstrator access. If you're thinking about going to 2.3.x you'll want to find a pre-rooted rom.
Hi again, thank you for your reply.i just rooted my galaxy tab today using superoneclick,at first the app crash for unknown reason.second it went not responding.but i tried it third time and waited awhile to finish installing files to my galaxy tab and i finally got the successfully rooted message.
By the way, my Galaxy Tab GT P1000 is now still running in Android 2.2 Froyo Rooted.can i just update the firmware to 2.3 gingerbread through official samsung kies program on pc ? Or i have to unroot my galaxy tab to update to official ginger bread 2.3 update ?
And just to let you know that i just deleted mine preinstalled swype and installed new swype beta.not sure if it's safe to install an official update.
Before i rooted my tab the samsung kies program found a new firmware update for my tab which has some long code and jpi something i can't remember it correctly, not really sure if it is gingerbread update
I just notice that when i open more than 2 apps some apps automatically closes itself.does anyone know what is causing it ?
Samsung kies kinda sucks since the usb connection kept disconnecting it's kinda hard to backup stuff.not to mention backup some small files takes ages too.
That's how I got started. First I rooted my tab, after seeing how easy that was I tried a new ROM. After seeing how easy that was, the next thing I know I've been through 3 different ROMs now.
Then I hear about the newest version 2.3.5, which is suppose to rock. So I decide to go back to stock, so I can have a clean flash of the newest version. That is where I made my mistake. I grabbed the wrong version (GSM instead of CDMA) and soft bricked my tab. After following some advice I got, I eventually hard bricked my tab.
RESEARCH! If you decide to try new ROMs research and read the thread fully and if you still not sure ask questions.
Well that is what i am doing now.trying to confirm if it's safe to do it and that.anyway i hope someone will answers my questions soon
Hi can someone help answer my questions at post 3
Dears,
I require help from you. My galaxy note has stock ROM and is very laggy.
PDA:KL3/PHONE:KL1/CSC:KL1(INU).
I read in some threads that with KL7 firmware, lag disappears completely.
i have few questions.
1. I want stock ROM and when i try to connect with kies, it says 'this is the latest firmware'. i bought this from India and Im currently in saudi arabia.
2.where will i get the STOCK ROM for KL7 and how to put in my note?
3. Will this 'unofficial' way clean up my data?or will my apps and setting remain as it is after update.
appreciate your replies.

1.This is latest ROM for India, thats why kies says.(you have purchased from india)
2. Read My signature
3.It has no relation with way you are updating, Dont select 'Re-partition' option while you flashing with Odin, so you will not lose data, but it is always advisable to backup first.
Now another thing, if you install KL7 by odin, you will not able to Root it later. If you want Rooted KL7, you need this
- Get ROOT + CWM in present ROM (read My signature)
- Install Mobile Odin Pro from market
- Now download Stock firmware, as i advised you earlier, n Flash your device with Mobile Odin Pro, with ' ever Root' option enable
thanku buddy
im sorry. but i downloaded a file N7000XXKL7_N7000OXAKL7_N7000XXKL7_HOME.tar.md5. now i see 4 options in ODIN: bootloader/phone/csc/pda. now where i should i associate this field.???
also since my csc is INU and this seems DBT is there anything should i b doing??? . pls gime detailed steps
just to select PDA, as you seen in guide.
got it right.upgraded to kl7. thank you dr.
I am confused. This is the latest firmware, but it is still carrier specific, correct?
Is there a firmware that is 'pure samsung galaxy note' which hasn't been manipulated by the carriers?
I guess KL8 is the latest firmware.

Hey,
I've got an unlocked i9305 with Optus Australia, and I'd like to share my way to root the phone.
I rooted my i9305 weeks ago, just a simple software with one click, nothing to do with Odin.
I don't know why there's hardly such tool in the xda and many english-based forum, so try this link:
sj.qq.com/root
[Probably you don't understand Chinese language, google-translate the webpage]
Things you need to do:
1.A Windows-based PC
2.Download the tool from the link (Hit the green button not the blue one)
3.Have kies installed (Or you can install the phone driver alone)
4.Enable usb-debug in development option on your i9305
5.BACK UP!
6.Connect your phone with a cable to your PC
7.Use the tool, ONE Click, root your phone successfully
8.After rooting you'll probably find a superuser app in Chinese, don't worry
9.Go downloading the Superuser app in play-store, it can help you to switch to the new SU app.
10.Done!
EDIT:
IF THE FIRMWARE ON YOUR PHONE IS 4.1.2, THIS METHOD WILL NOT WORK.
But you can still root your i9305 running 4.1.2 by flashing a auto-root file through Odin. The name of the file is CF Auto root.
Check this link:
http://m.ibtimes.co.uk/root-galaxys3-lte-i9305-android412-xxbma1-jellybean-426559.html
PS: the 4.1.2 firmware I used is the Nordic one downloaded from sammobile, as this is the only one I found not bundled with a carrier. My phone was originally branded with Optus Australia but uncloked. I'm now glad to see the original Samsung logo instead of the ugly optus logo, when turning on the phone.
======================================================================
HERE COMES MY QUESTION: (SOLVED)
ALREADY SOLVED, EVERYTHING GOES FINE.
My phone is an unlocked one but with an Optus logo when turning it on.
The latest firmware released in Australia for my Optus i9305 is 4.1.1.
So I'm considering manually flashing the German Firmware 4.1.2 downloaded from SamMobile to the phone, through Odin 3.
I want to use the German 4.1.2 firmware because people say it is the unbranded firmware.
But my concern is the CSC, as I hear that CSC is about the location, carrier, and APN settings, etc.
Will it be problematic if I manually upgrade my i9305 to the German 4.1.2 Firmware? I mean problems with carriers, or even brick:silly:
Or any other suggestions if I want to do so?
Any help will be appreciated
everything should be just fine, man, the CSC provided in the German firmware should work ok with u'r phone, but if u notice any issues, you can use this app to change your CSC
if you don't know what to choose, take a look here or here

I have been working on a video to help users root their i9305, I have been busy but the video should be out sometime in early february.
easy root
I just tried to do the method... felt a bit risky as the tool itself was also written in Chinese so but it came up with a large exclamation mark.. so don't think my 9305 4g lte was succesfully rooted.. ...
I got mine through DWI... so Hong Kong.. android 4.1.1 baseband.. I9305ZHALI2, Buid nr.. JRO03C.I9305ZHBLL3
I had hoped to root my phone so I could play around with it and install a new rom..
Any idea why it didnt work?
cheers
Peter
Re: [I9305 Simplest Root Guide] & [SOLVED] My Question of Updating to Official 4.1.2
Hi Peter
That's unusual, I thought it should work for the hongkong version. Make sure you have kies installed, debug mode enabled and ticked the box and had at least 20 per cent battery.
If you are sure that everything was right, first have a look at your app list see if there is big R icon in blue. If not, probably it doesn't work for you.
Then try the other method with odin I posted above It meant to be the root method for 4.1.2, I just updated my i9305 yesterday with the Nordic Firmware 4.1.2 from sammobile, and both the firmware and the root method with Cf auto root worked perfectly.
See the edited part above. Good luck

do you know if that Nordic firmware would work with my I9305T
Re: [I9305 Simplest Root Guide] & [SOLVED] My Question of Updating to Official 4.1.2
I cannot assure you that as I do not have an i9305T to test.
But I have seen people's discussion, and many of them in this forum said that the firmwares are transferable between the i9305 and the one with T.
So I would expect it works, but double check on that, don't risk your phone

Hi,
I'm pretty new to the whole custom ROM scene and have come across a problem when installing CynogenMod version 10.1.3-RC2-galaxysmtd. I've been able to get everything else working but can't seem to get any network service or GPS.
I've read numerous articles on flashing a correct radio or installing a new modem (not sure if this is the same thing or not?) if you can't get any service but haven't done this yet. I've also read articles on moving the files from sdcard\backup\efs into the efs folder in the phone memory which I've tried but doesn't seem to work either.
My baseband version is I9000XXJVT and the rom is running on android 4.2.2. Before the ROM I'm currently on I came from a stock Gingerbread ROM. Was there something I needed to do when coming from a stock ROM that I missed?
Any help on this would be appreciated as I've hit a bit of brick wall
Thanks
Hey there,
So long story short, you've probably lost your IMEI. You can check this by going into Settings -> About Phone -> Status then scrolling down to IMEI. If it begins with 044 or something similar then you know you've lost it.
So to solve this:
1. Flash back to the stock Gingerbread you were on by means of Odin, there are many guides for this but the one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444308 is quite comprehensive (and leave the OP a thanks as well)
2. Download CM9 from the Cyanogenmod website.
3 Root your S again (this will depend on which Gingerbread rom you flash).
4. Boot into CWM recovery. Do the usual data/cache/Dalvik wipes.
5. Install CM9. Let it boot. You don't need to download ICS gapps for CM9 as all you need it to do is boot.
The reason why you install CM9 is to make sure that the IMEI sticks when you then flash a JB rom. Flashing straight to JB from GB tends to lose the IMEI as said before.
6. Once you've let it boot, reboot into recovery again. You don't really need to do the same three wipes again. Install CM10.1.3 RC2. You'll need to flash the zip a few times- three times at least. Flash Gapps as well, of course.
That should hopefully make your signal reception and GPS work
(I covered this quite briefly so if you do need clarification on any of the steps don't hesitate to ask)

Hi
I checked and I do have an IMEI number which begins with 3 not 0. I also checked the IMEI number and it brought back the correct phone details.
Should I still follow the guid you have linked to or do I not need to do that?
Thanks.
Odd... If the IMEI is intact then you should be geting reception. What you could do is make a backup of your rom and then try the steps I suggested to see if you get the same problem.
Most likely however its due to your modem. In the development thread there's a list of modems compatible with the I9000. Try flash XXJW4 or one for your country through recovery and see if that fixes anything- if not, try the steps.

Hello there, I'm just new to the forum and i'm here because I need your help!
Okey, let's start from the beginning.
I want to root my SIII mini ( GT I8190 ) because I saw a site that enumerates the benefits or good things that you can
access if you root your phone. So I searched and searched and found a guide. I followed all the instructions and ended bricking my phone or having a problem with the
firmware thingy thing that I cant explain because I am not smart as you guys are. So I almost messed up the whole thing but
luckily, I fixed it by, I dunno.. So let's continue, I tried and tried searching for how to root my phone and I found the one! But when
I went to recovery mode, I can see the logo, the whole logo but I think its stuck and I think it is because of the files that I flashed
from Odin ( which is 6 by the way, 6 files ), So I want them to be removed!!!
PPPPPPPLEASE HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP!!

download stock firmware and flash it with odin and to root your device download VRoot for me it is the easy way to root my device I'm new with s3 mini so I see that it is the easy way to root it
When you flash with odin you fully overwrite one or more partition on your phone, that means that you lost what was there, so "delete some files" wont change a thing...
It would be useful to know what you've flashed, but probably you just need to flash a stock firmware.
You can find a stock firmware at sammobile.com, just search for your model (exact model, fw is different for N/L/T variants) and region (if you live in europe any fw starting with I8190XX is ok. You may follow this guide for instructions and troubleshoting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159660
Anyways there's a very easy way to root an s3 mini, just follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147852
