Hi, I'm trying to find solutions for unbricking Motorola phones. Yesterday, I un-bricked a Sony phone without fastboot responding/available, without any hardware key, or software response. I did this using flashmode on the phone. Is this possible, has it been tried?

This has probably been asked many times before but ive rooted my xperia t and want to unlock the bootloader so I can install pacman rom, however when i hold the volume up and plug in the usb cable, the blue light stays on for around 5 seconds and then goes into charging mode, many people say to wait for it to show up in the device manager and install it manually which i keep trying to do but so far no luck so is there anyone who would gladly show me a noobs way of doing it as im following this guide at the moment.

Are you on windows 8?

you have to boot into safe mode and install the drivers that way.
It may not be called safe mode in win 8, but its something like that
RE: Xperia T wont stay in fastboot mode?
I have the same problem has anyone figured it out yet i cant do it in safe mode
had the same issue, but with me the problem was w8, if you are on window 8 you need to disable driver verification or something like that, i recomend, doing it on a windows 7 pc
I have windows 7 but did not work, can using a laptop affect the driver installation?
No, I use a win 7 laptop
Sent whilst sat on the toilet.
Ok that's good because my desktop is quite slow. Could you tell me what you did exactly, I think I might be doing it wrong?
prob not, try on a other pc?

Hi I've been looking through the forums and haven't been able to find anything to help with this. Recently I rooted my phone and tried installing CM10.1. As I was doing the process trough CWM it all seemed to work fine until I went to reboot the phone and it was supposed to restart instead it never booted up again. When I hold down the power button it vibrates but nothing happens. When I put it to charge the red LED lights up and when I connect it to the computer it recognizes that something is connected in the USB but doesn't recognize what it is. Sony is giving me trouble for repair because I bought it internationally (UK variant). Any help would be very much obliged, thanks in advance.

Did anyone mention emma? Just use flashtool, like 2 people have already said. There's a tutorial in the general section.

Dont download from sony site.. thats emma its different
This is the flashtool you need https://github.com/Androxyde/Flashtool
Like everyone else has said get Flashtool, get firmware, flash firmware and you should be okay. Also make sure you actually went through the whole bootloader process.
6.You should now receive your unique unlock key via EMAIL, SAVE THIS KEY SAFELY
7. Extract fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.rar and open fastboot folder
8. Hold SHIFT and right click on the background of the folder
9. Select 'Open command window here'
10. Connect your phone in fastboot mode (turn phone off, hold Volume UP button and plug in USB Cable) [make sure drivers are installed as explained above)
11. In the cmd windows type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
12. If a value is returned (it will return 0.5), it means the phone is correctly connected
13. Type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY and replace KEY with the key which u received earlier.
You're device should now be bootloader unlocked
I didnt follow numbers 6-13 and for a good 2 weeks i was having a really bad time. I would try and flash boot.img and what not and nothing would happen or i would soft brick.
I accidentally bricked my phone, and now connected to the computer will display QSHUSB_DLOAD mode.
I have also tried to hold the power button for 10 seconds after the restart, but without any help.
I also try to repair the phone via QPST, but i don't have the hex and mbn files.
Could someone help me to dump these files?
or tell me how to dump it from a normal phone?
Thank you for your help.
Search for hard brick in these forums. See if there's a recovery tutorial. I doubt you'll have a lot of luck though, sorry!

I have heard of Ones in QHUSB_DLOAD mode spontaneously rising from the dead, but I'm not sure anyone has actually repaired one.
It was possible on the One XL via jtag, but this phone is a lot harder to take apart. There are repair shops that can do it.
Afaik we don't have the required program to flash in download mode

jtag works by flashing firmware directly onto the motherboard, but that's a lot harder with this phone, which is sealed.
Some of you may have seen my first post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473736
Since I got no response, and I really don't know what's wrong with the phone, then I was thinking on giving it to Sony Service and wait for they to fix it.
Anyway I was also wondering on the possibility of a hardbrick, but I'm really not sure, how can I tell if the motherboard is really damaged? let's say for example that I can still flash the phone (which I actually can do), and when I put the phone in flashmode, flashtool recognizes it and give me the number version of the last image I flashed. If this is posible it means the phone isn't hardbricked? if it were, then I couldn't even put it in flshmode? Or I'm I missing something.
Hardbricked means: no flashmode, no fastboot, no booting, not anything? Or can a phone be hardbricked and still entering those modes?
Of course all of this is focused on xperia phones.
Thanks for the help!
Repair via SEUS maybe

Thanks all for the suggestions, but I already have tried all of this with no results. That's why I'm wondering if it's hardbricked, but I'm not sure because I still can flash the phone.
If you can get into flashmode it is not a hardbrick

hey guys, i wasnt trying to root my phone or anything it was working fine and i locked it and it just wont turn back on
ive tried using SUS but then it says QHSUSB_DLOAD driver not found whenever i try to connect it to my laptop!
HELP PLEASE :crying:
Flash your phone using FlashTool method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658952
Be sure to install fastboot and flashmode drivers first.
1. Be sure you have 50% battery life.
2. Turn off phone.
3. Download Sony Ericson Update Service program.
4. Install it.
5.Start Program and search for reinstall phone.
6. Choose your device from list.
7. Follow instructions.
Your phone will again work perfect with Stock rom! (Without root!)
Good Luck

"any ideas what to do?"
Say: Bye Bye SP...and put it on Trash.....If Update Service program dont see your phone when connect it to pc than phone is broken forever.

Did you install Xperia SP specific driver? I assumed you already did, coz you wrote about rooting procedure, but if you didn't, install it the same way you did flashmode and fastboot drivers. Look for "Viskan" in drivers list. After that, try Flashtool again and flash the whole firmware, not just kernel.
we have the same problem may be we should make a UNBRICK thread for xperia sp.
you can use zeus driver to replace qhsusb dload driver
download s1tool from the_laser setool
can someone give us link for a flashfile for xperia sp in semc package? not ftf file
the_laser said that
this is msm8960-based phone and s1tool only support apq8064- and msm8974-based phones.

Yes, I wiped the bootloader, but it was fixed in the service and they gave me a new one saying that they can't fix it. It was free of charge of course
What's the status? Does the green or blue LED show up? Or no LEDs at all?

Crap, it looks like it's dead. If you haven't mess up with screws they should fix it. In the worst scenario they have to inform you about costs and ask whether you want them to fix it.
JTAG can be used as well, but it's not cheap.

Not really. If it's dead the first guess will be motherboard. And they will replace it with an internal memory. So FXP or not, they should fix it.
