Is there an adapter that will allow me to plug an SD card into the micro slot? I see a ton of usb --> micro short cables but I can't seem to find one that will fit my needs. I have an SD --> usb, I suppose i'll just have to use it if I can't find SD ---> Micro.
Thanks
Try it and tell...
You should try this out. Use a USB to OTG cable, and then run a USB to SD Card adapter.
If it works, then hell yes.
Try it out, then post another thread for if it works or not.

Sorry dude, it has to be a micro SD card + reader. 1GB or less is preferred, but 2GB also might work.
I believe u can do it in yr laptop
Use a microsd to sd card adaptor ( those small things that sometimes come with it when u purchase a new microsd card
Use any device that can act as usb mass storage and read capabilities like an old phone that has its own power source but u need the usb to micro usb tip connector
Question
i have sd card + reader .. but dont have android phone or wm5.. is it possible to create goldcard without this stuff ?
yes,you need a Y cable

A standard SD card works as well. doesn't have to be a MicroSD
A USB drive is possible if u have a female to female coupler
but u still need the y cable

GoldCard and Homemade Y cable
I made my own y cable and used my Laptops sd card reader to make my goldcard.Used a 1gb sandisk card. There is tons of tutorials on Xda to help you along.Good luck.btw,my y cable has two female and one male ends.
I got both of them for 99 cents each, now I can plug my micro sd card in, and mount it with StickMount by Chainfire in the Market.
Im sure most of you have the OTG cable, here is the MicroSD USB Adapter for 99 cents.

fat32 format ntfs not supported
Hi,
I have the HTC One and I am trying to get it to read several sd cards/thumb drives at the same time. I have the HTC One connected via USB OTG to a powered hub. The powered hub has a thumb drive and sd card reader plugged into it. Both the thumb drive and sd card reader light up... but I can only see one device on my phone. Is there any way I can set it up so I can see all devices connected to the hub? I want to be able to transfer photos from an sd card to the thumb drive, on the go without a computer. All drives/cards are formatted to FAT32, I am not rooted and do not want to be.
Thanks.

Why would it suck its voltage if its a powered hub...
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
For anyone else looking for a solution try Nexus Media Importer... it seems to work pretty well.
Just got a s2 9.7 and really like it. But I'm trying to get the otg to work with a microsd card that I will use in my camera. I realize I can just put the card in the microsd slot but I will have another card in there and I read that otg cable works.
I tried the otg cable with a card reader inserted in it and that doesn't work. Neither did a microsd reader with microusb connector that I got. I then tried a pen drive I had laying around and that works fine in the otg cable.
So does anyone know if I can get the s2 to recognize a microsd card via otg?
thanks, Dave
Card readers contain multiple "devices" (for the different card types). But OTG can only handle one device with one partition (so, hard disks with more than one partition won't work, too, for example).
Dunno, but perhaps there's a card reader which takes just a micro sd card and nothing else; you could try if that one works.
thanks, but yes, one of the card readers I tried is a microsd reader alone, with microusb connector, so it plugs in directly.
If this won't work I can deal with it, my camera even has wireless. I'll have to try a few things this week-end
Dave
I have 2 otg cables, both work with USB Hard drives and flash drives, but the otg+charge cable doesn't charge the s2 - but it will charge and OTG my samsung j5 phone. Is there some limitation in the s2 that stops it charging? I tried 2 different 2A USB chargers.

OK, sorry I was wrong, it doesn't charge my j5, I could have sworn it did the first time I connected it to the j5 but it doesn't now.
Maybe I'm dumb but this seems like such a fundamental requirement of otg, charge, provide USB connectivity, and if possible power the USB accessory too!
Is there anything that will do that?
Thanks
