Note: I took the speed tests in a different area than the screenshots, I wish I had that kind of service in my living room . Hopefully they throw some new towers up soon, still; very pleased so far :good: .
Anyone else in Phoenix? What kind of speed are you getting and where?

I'm in Phoenix, I'm not getting LTE, Im still on 4.2.1- However, I can pick up LTE but no data connection. I noticed last night when I switch over to 'LTE only' i had a few bars, no label next to it tho (as yours reads 4G, mine was blank). Not sure what I need to do...

Did you change the APN to fast.t-mobile.com?

Do I need to edit my APN settings?

you need to change your apn settings manually

I went in matched all your settings, however I do not have the password or server field filled out... At home I was picking up LTE like I said just no data, seems here at work in N.PHX im not having luck pulling down signal.

i cannot make or receive calls after i switch to LTE, anyone with that problem.

I am having the same problem. I changed my APN to fast and everything, I am running PAC's new ROM, with .33 radio. Even though the ROM is 4.2.2 it's allowing me to access all the settings to change everything and all but I only get grey lte bars like the other users, no actual data. What am I doing wrong. Can someone give me a step by step link to get it working, I can change roms and factory reset if need be.

Are you receiving a 4g indicator next to your signal icon? What area of Phx are you in?

Not sure if it will work for you but if you hit the menu button (top right) and reset to defaults you should have exactly what I do for T-Mobile US, minus changing IPv4/IPv6 and APN to fast.t-mobile.com. That's all I did.

No the APN should stick, having LTE enabled will not though. If you're running CM10.1 see this post.

im on 4.2.1 factory image, .33 Radio... Getting full "gray" bars and nothing else... fast.t-mobile.com APN's v4/v6 no luck not sure what the dilly is... Wish I could be more helpful!

How can i fix it?
The problem is present before flash nexus one.
I only can use Edge and 3G.
Thx
I'm having the same problem. It's not too big of a deal for me (3g is ok) but I def miss the speed of HSDPA.
How do you know it isn't using HSDPA? The stock rom never shows an H, it always stays at 3G even when it switches over when there is a data transfer.
I just looked around, but I can't remember where in the settings you can go to see if it is connecting at HSDPS. Maybe someone else can point you in the right direction.
I didn't know the stock rom didn't show it. So is the "H" icon like a cyan feature or what? I noticed a slight speed decrease too but people were saying in the dev section that going back to an older radio may solve the problem.
If you want to check the network type: *#*#4636#*#*
There should appear HSDPA.
i've tested with speedtest.net app. it's very slow!
the firmware 2.1 show 'H'... 2.2 must show too, if it's enabled

Not that. There is a lot of info there. Check what says 'Network type:'
What if we edit the build.prop with the HSPA settings ? On froyo

The new radio that comes with froyo has caused this for a few people and you can see your old speeds again if you flash an older radio (don't know if this is the only way) but an older radio will cause the camcorder to quit working on froyo.
That certainly is strange. I would advise to wait, maybe it is a temporary network problem. Try rebooting too if you hadn't. You don't have the ATT Nexus one version do you?
The stock ROM has never shown H, its always shown 3g only even when you have hsdpa. I've never rooted so trust me. But I still get fast speeds like 3 Mbps.

[Q] No data roaming?

Good day!
I currently work in the "hollers" of WV, where, on my HTC EVO 4G LTE I had data roaming and could even tether at times when needed for my laptop. However, since getting my HTC One M8, I have never seen or had data roaming. Within network settings, I have:
Network mode = LTE/CDMA
Roaming = automatic
Domestic voice = checked
Domestic data = checked
I have roaming voice, but no data at all.
I called Sprint and the particular individual I spoke with was like, "That sucks, your old phone works because its a different version of Android and there is nothing you can do".
They were not helpful.
Am I missing a setting? For what reason would my EVO LTE work on data roaming but the M8 won't?
EDIT:
Solved.

I had all sorts of issues with Roaming on my first phone.
I think that's where my problems started.
Extremely frustrating issue.
New phone roams normally.
Are your roaming guard options greyed out.
You could try ##786# if all else fails (which wipes evetything and triggers reactivation)
Then immediately turn off roaming guards and enable roaming.
I'd be curious if your phone runs in CDMA only.
mine would run fine on LTE but no roaming. And would not run on most CDMA only towers
My gut feeling is that there is an Antenna issue in the phone that causes some bands to malfunction.
I have no LTE in my area.
I am not sure what the problem is, but I am going to have to bite the bullet that I don't have data roaming in the area I am in for work.
Perhaps in others areas I will. I have not yet seen it in data roaming, but i Haven't traveled much since getting the phone.
Sounds like you might have got one of the bad first batch phones. I would return it. My phone roams just fine.

You can hide it fairly easy without removing it. I feel your pain.
Flash the HBOOT that that masks everything out.
NAND Backup. Install a Stockish ROM and Factory Reset it.
And put on a Stock Recovery.
They will likely want to factory reset it.
To be extra cautious I changed my CID to SPC_004 (Harman). I have had technicians run an RUU to fully reset the phone.
If they do have an RUU it will fail and technician will just scratch his head. Their RUU will surely be for SPC_001 (if they have one).
These days I think in store service has really been dumbed down. All they do is reset your phone. They don't "diagnose" anything.
When you get back home all have to do is reinstall recovery and NAND restore.
Oh, you might want to remove your SD Card with TWRP backups and Custom ROMs when you bring it in

I noticed that you can also change Network Mode from LTE/CDMA to Automatic. When on Automatic you can then select the Allow GSM data option. Could you try that and let me know if Automatic and those options allow your phone to roam with data while in WV? WV is my home state, which I get back to every once in a while.
Yes, that is the whole point of the article. It does exactly that. Allows you to have data roaming on GSM, whereas it is not turned on by default. Those tricksters.

That's sad to know, there should be a solution here, did you try anything after that? installing custom roms, upgrading or anything?
Service at my home location was horrible (virtually no data nor voice) so I didn't want to do too much to the phone. It did do a ROM update immediately after I obtained the phone prior to going home. Sprints towers in my area just aren't ready for the technology.

LTE / GSM auto (PRL)
I would like the phone to fix this setting WCMA preferred maintained in subsequent reboots ]WCMA preferred
WCMA preferred
Can you try to download app from playstore, search for:
LTE OnOff
there in settingss u can put GSM only or (w)cdma only
Use an app like Radio Switcher
I had a similar situation with 3G being dropped and phone switching to 2G seemingly at the slightest hint of a weak 3G signal. The code mentioned above does not seem to work on Moto X (at least for me) but there are apps that will let you access the Phone Info menu regardless (no root). There you can set it to WCDMA ONLY.
I use Radio Switcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snclabs.radioswitcher

You're right, you did say that. In my reply when I said "you" I meant and should have said "I" or "in my case", because for me it does stick. So the question is why does it stick in my case and not in yours. I have the T-Mobile xt1053 variant, and while the network might be the culprit I doubt it because it's the phone that requests the network type it wants to use, and the network should just respond yes or no, not force the phone to switch its settings. So my guess is a quirk in the phone.
I attempted to replicate your situation by doing multiple trials. First I set the phone setting to 2G only then used Radio Switcher (RS) to get into phone info and set it to "WCDMA only". With data on I rebooted the phone. And yes the data reverted to 2G! I did this three more times just to be sure and it reverted every time. Then I set the phone setting to "Automatic" (my phone setting only shows Automatic and 2G only) and pressing back the "Phone network type" showed "4G preferred (recommended)". I used RS to see the phone info and it was set at "LTE/GSM auto (PRL)", which I switched to " WCDMA only". Did the reboot test twice and both times phone info reverted to "LTE/GSM auto (PRL)".
But I already knew my phone could stick to WCDMA only so I didn't give up. I thought maybe the phone was not really registering my selection since I had been leaving data connected throughout these trials, meaning it was remembering the last thing which was set when data was turned on. So this time after setting to "WCDMA only" I turned data off then on again. Went back to RS and phone info to make sure it was still at "WCDMA only" then rebooted. And voila it stuck this time, phone info was "WCDMA only" and in the phone settings neither "Automatic" nor "2G only" were selected, both were empty.
So try that. And if that doesn't work... well good luck.
i'll try soon as possible

Anyone else notice LTE not staying selected when choosing network type?
If I choose LTE, the little green radio button shows as selected. All good. Back out to the main settings, then go back into cellular networks and see if it's still selected and nope! Radio button is blank again. Still says LTE, but the button is not selected.
If I go to select 3g or 2g options, button shows as selected, back out, then back in....radio button remains selected.

[Q] flash LYZ28E on Verizon N6?

I am using Verizon N6 on Tmobile and was wondering if I can flash the TMo ( LYZ28E ) on my phone to get wifi calling on Tmo.
Can somebody please confirm?
Update: I was able to flash LYZ288 TMo build on my Verizon N6 using nexus tool kit without any errors.
I can see Wifi calling option in the settings options now and I need to figure out how to test wifi calling actually works on the phone. Any suggestions?
the WiFi calling will only work if your provider provides support for WiFi calling, and Verizon does not. only tmobile will provide support for WiFi calling, and the fi network.
Provider of the phone or provider of the Sim? I'm using T-Mobile sim

you can put it into airplane mode, then turn on WiFi and try to make a call.

Just tries this but didn't work. It gives me a message that I must turn airplane mode off or connect to wireless network even though I was connected to wifi

ok, on your lockscreen, does it say WiFi calling? and which radio are you using?
It should say T-Mobile wifi calling at the top of your lockscreen like this

I see T-Mobile WiFi calling in under WiFi icon when I pull down my notification menu. Also I see 14R radio in settings. Does this mean WiFi calling won't actually work because it is a Verizon phone?

I'm on tmobile, but aren't using all that's required for WiFi calling, so haven't tried myself. I know a few were having issues with it, so its not just you. but eventually they got it working, so I think you will too.

If its saying wifi calling in your notification menu then it should be working. All nexus 6 no matter where you got it are the same. As long as your on T-Mobile then thats all that matters

Funny T-Mobile tech support won't even answer any of my questions because I brought the Nexus 6 over from Verizon. I can't get Wifi Calling working even though I am on the latest TMobile OTA. They claim they cannot provide support to devices not bought from T-Mobile. I'm currently stuck digging through XDA for a solution to my problem.
