I can't find the link now, but there was a recent thread about these 32GB sandisk class 10's and someone posted a warning that the Galaxy Note 2 and S3 have been known to "eat" them. As in render them useless. I'd avoid them for now.

google Piriform Recuva, nifty free program that's pulled at least some stuff off of dead SD cards and USB drives for me.. and as for the class 10s failing I've heard of this problem but there's an easy solution, don't use a class 10 card.. I've been rocking a 32gb class 4 for idk how long now, sure it might be slower but I have yet to see one fail

Yes but i have a question. I have a 16GB kingston class 2 sd card. Where do you actually see the difference in speed?
I opted for two class 10 16gb cards off Ebay, Write:14MB/s, Read:17MB/s

Well the difference is the speed of the read/write, with class 2 its possible of speeds around 2mbps i think where as a higher class card is capable of much higher which is good when transfering files (especially custom ROM's) to the phone. Also browsing through music tahts on the SD is faster.

Are you sure that they are real? At that price they kind of seem too good to be true :/
get 16GB .. it's enough, and if not get another 16GB , buying 32GB is just waste of money :/

I ordered Lexar 32gb class 10 microSD card from Lambdatek in the UK.
Took a while to get here, but they had the best prices, and the SD card is really worth all the money. Getting read / write spead at 18 / 10 mb/s
A big improvement over my former class 2 SD card and works great for full HD video recording, which was what I was going for.

Recommend me an SD card.

I'm on a budget here, and I'm looking for an external SD to place all my media.
Thing is, I don't need to have amazing transfer speeds from PC to card.
I just play media on phone, and I don't frequently take videos on my phone.
So what's the best card for me? I suppose class 10 cards aren't a necessity for me right?
I bought a SanDisk 64GB Micro SDXC from Amazon for $45. Don't know what your budget is so it is hard to recommend something.

I totally agree.
Whatever your budget and size-need is; make sure you buy a card that is class 10. Class 4 are too slow for files transfers; they're good for the normal reading of audio and video files but the transfers (in and out) are just a pain-slow...

WOAH! Anyone have any experience with any of these Sony SD cards? Looks like they're priced to move...
I heard eg class 6 performs better than class 10 in some scenarios.
Is class 10 always the way to go?
I've had a class 4 kingstone micro sd card and it worked extremely fine with media files .. I think class 10 just for media is a little bit far
Sandisk 32 gig class 10 is $22 on amazon. The class 6 is a couple dollars more. You won't need the higher class for what you are doing. Just for basic pics and music a class 6 is fine. Also I advise against the 64 gig if you are using CWM recovery and/or a aosp ROM. They aren't friends.

Recommendations for micro sd

My 16 gig kingston filled up quite rapidly after 2 weeks so I'm looking in getting a 32 or 64 micro sd but not sure what I shall get.
I see theres sdhc sdxc but not sure whats the differences.
I read theres issues with sandisk so I was thinking of either samsung lexar or kingston.
Also does the note 2 use the class 10 cards to its fullest as in its max read/write speeds?
I've read its pointless paying extra for the class 10 cards since the note2 dont use it to the fullest
Thanks in advance for any replies

either buy 32gb or 64gb any company OTHER THAN SCANDISK ............................it Sucks big time. i have scandisk 32gb and it keeps on unmounting mounting every now and than .
sandisk 64gb class 10
The Note II can use a 64 gb sdcard. I would only use a class 10. Its way quicker tranferring files, or taking videos. Also you can use SD-Booster. Download from the Play Store. Its free. You can tell the sdcard at what speed to be ruiing at. 2048, 4096, etc, etc. Phone must be rooted to use.

I have and currently use the ScanDisk Extreme 64GB SDXC class 10 card. I haven't had, or at least noticed, any issues while using it. I just formatted the card right away when I installed in the phone.
You may want to install directorybind. I believe you need root. A lot of app install on the phone's storage, not on the SDcard. So you may want to check if your card or phone storage filled up. Other than that, I would suggest moving pictures and videos off your phone if you have a lot.

I've been using a Lexar 32GB Class 10 Micro SDHC card for many months. Both in the Note 2 and previously to that in an S3 -- no issues ever. No crashes, no unmounts, no corruption, etc.
I got mine when amazon had them for $40. I got two. One is in a tablet, no issues. The one in the GN2, I originally put in my Evo 4G and it worked fine; it couldn't get class 10 speed, but worked very well with Boot Manager

I have been looking for a 64g SD card for my samsung tab 3 7". After reading many reviews on amazon I have discoverd a few things you might want to consider.
1. Anything over 32 gig is a whole different world for sd cards an compatibility especially for Samsung tab 3's
2. I don't know about other brands but sandisk seems to have formatting problems with android. They sell several different 64gig cards and some come with a warning that reformatting in the mobile device will leave the card unusable.
2. There are a lot of counterfeit 64gig cards out there and even though people are complaining about it, Amazon continues to sell them. Read the reviews carefully.
3. I don't know if the tab3 can utilize the class 10 cards that claim 30 mb per second.
I just started looking into getting a 64gig card for my tab 3 and my information is still incomplete as to what to get. All I can suggest is read, read read... There are some shifty deals out there.
I hope someone that has more knowledge about this subject will chime in as I am somewhat confused about the best card to go with.
Copy that. Thank you very much or the input, I was also just reading about the counterfeit cards that Amazon is selling in the reviews for some cards and elsewhere. I'm not sure why or how they would continue to sell them knowing that they are fake! I am seriously thinking about just going with one of the nicer Samsung cards and be done with it.

Cool, Good info. Thanks
Just to update its been 2 weeks now and the cards are doing great. I read the reviews before I bought and they said the transcend was very compatible with devices and since samsung is so picky I liked hearing that. Also a lifetime warranty is great too. its not clear what your problem is. Try again to explain what the issue is.

Sandisk Ultra 64gb micro sd write speeds just tanked.

So I was loading my SD card up with music. About half way through the transfer stopped. At that time I was roughly 50% through the transfer . Up until that point I was getting write speeds of between 6mb-11mb/s . Then half way through the transfer seemed to stall out . After a min or two it resumed. After it resumed I was getting between 600-999KiB/s
Any idea what could cause this ?
Did you format the SD card in your pc, phone, or just pop it in and go?
From Dante's Inferno via XDA Premium HD
Given that you are having problems I would format it in a computer using exFAT format with quick format turned off so that the card is fully tested. There could be issues with the card itself and this would help identify that.
And then order the Samsung card...
Back up all our info . card is gonna take a **** soon.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Backup whatever you have on that SanDisk and get a Samsung or another dependable brand. I've learned my lesson on 3 SanDisk cards that clunked on me, causing to me to lose unrecoverable data each time. I got a Samsung Evo.
Where did you get it from and how much did you pay? It could be a fake.
I'm using a SanDisk 64gb extreme ultra which to my mind is the only suitable card for the note 4. I'm getting write speeds of 44mb on average.

^^ What he said.. Stick with the Samsung card, you paid a boatload for a flagship phone, don't save a buck on the SD card.
I'm using a Samsung 64gb UHS-1 card, works great. The Sandisk UHS-3 64gb card is like $40 on Amazon right now. I think that's a heck of a deal. I just want to upgrade to a 128gb not to another 64gb.
