Hi Ishan Sardar,
There is a saying that "A picture is worth a thousand words" in this case i hope that the thread that i open recently will give at least one correct answer for your question.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130215
In short, there are some users like me that experience network problem and some not,In my opinion i suggest to wait to galaxy 4 or to buy this version and check it carefully In the early days after purchase. again i think to wait to the new one or to buy another 2gb ram & lte.
Hope that will help you to decide.

hi, I read the whole thread and it's a bit unclear to me if your problem still persist. so can u tell me in short if you still face the problem after flashing roms and modems?? And about buying s4 I can't really wait that long cuz its gonna take at least 2/3 month to come to my country after release and I dont see any alternative to s3 cuz I really want the expandable memory and removable battery feature. Now I can buy the non LTE version to avoid problems but I really want to have the 2GB ram.

Hi again,
Yes and no,yes- i still have problem, but now it seems to workout without a restart,it happen me yesterday,i can not call and surf and after half a minute everything back to work just fine by himself. The no- is cause i did not flashed any other modem, yet. the delay is still exists in net surfing.
I really understand your need to 2gb ram, this was also look like big plus to future android o.s,like the 5.0 that will probably will support in better way than jellybean.
If you have some more question to me,do not hesitate to ask them.

Poll: With no penalty, would you return your Galaxy S i9000?

I've just upgraded from a Topaz to the Galaxy S I9000, and it's been great so far. "So far" being less than 12 hours. However, after reading the forums here, I have my doubts about its performance in the long term.
I understand that the forum will be biased; This is a place for folks who like to hack and tinker with their devices, and those who seek a resolution to a problem that the manufacturer won't resolve, so I expect to see a lot of issues posted on the forum. However, when the issue involves features I use frequently (GPS predominantly) I get concerned. Further, there's the issue with an Android 2.2 release date; I see posts saying it's ready, posts saying it's not, posts saying Samsung are fixing bugs, and more worryingly posts saying Samsung make phones for people to buy, then abandon them!
So, my question is:
"You have the option of being released from your contract without penalty, or have an unlimited term money-back guarantee from your supplier, covering issues stemming from the build quality of the device itself, or Samsung support being useless. If you like, an unlimited warranty offering you money back. Would you, knowing what you do now, return your Galaxy S I9000 and acquire a different model of phone?"
If you answer "Yes" could you put a short note on here saying why?
Thanks for your time.
Short answer, no.
Gps can be an issue sure, but I've found it better with the updates, I use it every day to track my bike to work and its very good.
But lets be honest, this is a phone, one of it's other functions is GPS, I wouldn't expect the camera to perform at the same level as a stand alone camera, so I think some of the complaints that the GPS takes time to lock isnt fair, if you want something as fast as a standalone GPS buy a GPS unit.
As for samsung updates again I think the general feeling is somewhat over the top.
It would be understandable if there was no news, no betas and no hope, how ever there have been updates, many many betas and we know it's coming, this to me shows that unlike older sammy phones we will get the updates (2.2)
I'm not a sammy fanboi, I came from mapple 2/3g 3gs,
I've had my phone since launch and I still love the many good things about it, I brought this sim free and im due an upgrade in 3 months, but unless the samsung beam is out here ill be sticking to my sgs untill late next year and the sgs2.

Yes I would but ill be getting the same model again, I just want my IMEI fixed.. it was rude of samsung to put a bomb on JPC.

I wouldn't call it rude.. It's your own fault for messing with leaked pre-releases...
But I would, but only to buy a new one again (because the casing is getting a bit rough). I guess I might also consider the Desire HD too (since it apparently has more RAM, a product of evolution), but realistically, I'm happy with the SGS now.
Sipdroid seems to have released 1.6beta too, which supposedly targets the I9000 compatibility issue, so if it works, then when my skype credits expire, I'll be even happier.
Personally, I think the lag is mostly overrated still..
Thanks for your input so far folks.
Just to point you to the last line of my question; Would you swap out for a different model of handset or refund? This isn't about replacing it for another Galaxy S; I want to know who's happy with it, who isn't happy with it, and why.
I wouldnt mind to change the phone mostly cause of bad manufacture... the frame make so much noises on top ( at the usb gate).
Wont even mention gps cause its a known problem
tbh i am thinking of taking the phone for repairs if they dont fix the gps and claim a refund or a new phone
Personally I would change the phone.
After the dissapointment of having a phone which in reality only half works and thats with hacks/fixes, I wished I had waited a bit longer for a Desire HD,etc.
The only plus point of this phone now to me is the screen size and quality.
If the desire HD, etc can match the screen then i would swap in a heart beat.
In hindsight i should of known samsung would **** it all up and never actually fix the problem,i thought they would being android with the system using android. Looks like i was wrong.
Oh, heck no...
this phone is too good to be replaced anytime soon.
there is nothing better out in the market yet, specially nothing with a SAMOLED screen
hmm.... in simple words samsung galaxy s is the most advanced and looks better than any other android phone , it has the biggest screen and is very light weight , yet a very powerfull device .. so all these features makes it the best available phone in the market today..
so now coming back to your question..
"Would you return your Galaxy S I9000 and acquire a different model of phone?"
there is no choice right now.. all the other handsets like htc desire, lg optimus, wildfire, etc etc... do not match up to samsung galaxy
and i think the only better phone than samsung galaxy s right now would be
htc desire hd.. and i m sure it might be surely atleast 25% more expensive than the galaxy s.. so there is no competition between the two..
so the bottom line is that .. samsung galaxy s is the best in the class right now
^^ I concur!

what can i say... SAMOLED screen is like better than any other high you can get on the market, you get the taste of it once, and you keep coming back wanting more
anything less will just not give you the same high....

Personally, I don't think there is enough information yet to judge if the new Desire is better...
Realistically, the devices are mostly the same (if the GPS is in fact fixed), and on both of them, I'd probably end up installing Cyanogenmod anyway. I purchased my phone as a tool, and the last few days have truly made it more useful (with Skype being released officially, and Sipdroid being apparently fixed in 1.6beta).
Obviously though, if newer devices with better hardware are released, obviously changing phone makes sense.

yup... thats true
I've cheated slightly, and not posted that I've used an HTC Desire for the past few months, and I really liked that phone. Sense UI is phenomenal, the phone itself is wonderfully capable and I know it has Froyo out on all the UK carriers now.
Saying that, I've not had the GPS problem (slight deviation on the way home yesterday, but nothing serious), and as everyone says the screen is divine. Still, I can't help but think that the serious lag issues (which are noticeable even when performing simple tasks like moving between sections in Android Market) is just one more example of how Samsung roll; Release great hardware, cripple it with buggy software, forget about it while you work on the new shiny-shiny.
I'll see how it fairs over the weekend, and check up more on the Desire HD, and hopefully between the two I'll have a wicked phone I enjoy for the next couple of years!
Thanks for all of your input, it's genuinely appreciated

[Q] A Rhetorical Question: Should I Buy The 2X?

Thats right people, i just made the million dollar question. As a quick background, ive owned an ETEN X500 (terrible phone), an HTC TD2 (ridiculous newton rings issues) and up until a few days i was a proud owner of an Acer Liquid E, which was, with the help of some geniuses up at modaco, an amazing handset which had cost me only about 280 euros more than a year ago. Due to a terrible car accident (from which i miraculously survived almost intact) the Liquid fell into the sea and, well, thats all with that. As you can tell im not into paying incredible money for a phone, since i hate contracts (pay-as-you-go is the future lol), so id rather save up and pay for an unlocked device. I have found a pretty good deal on the Optimus 2X, about 380 Euros, which i consider great for a dual-core device, but as i keep on reading page after page here, im quite shocked on the amount of issues this phone has. The screen bleeding is really nothing new for an IPS LCD display, ive seen it b4 and im sure ill see it again, and its only noticeable in extreme situations (full brightness, black background and nothing else) so im not so much worried about it. The lag/freeze/reboot situation is a completely different issue of course. There are so many people experiencing these problems that one may think that the 2X is a faulty device by design, but im still not totally convinced about it. Are we seriously talking about bad HW here, or is there any substantial hope of getting a holy-grail-type SW fix? I know that this has been talked over again and again and i have already read more than 50 pages on that, so my question goes more to the people that have done serious research on the issue and could, possibly, have a more global view on it. The phone does have all im lookin for on a device: dual-core CPU, LCD display (S-AMOLED burn-in? no thanx), HDMI, 1080p video, affordable.. But having lots of doubts, as expected.
Anyways, any thoughts/replies would be very welcome.
PS Even if i dont end up buying the phone, good luck to the owers
Peace
Buy it, root it, install CM7 on it, most issues would be gone. Gingerbread also slated to come soon. This is a value for money phone imo.
The freeze problem I think are not on every device. I think that some countries do not have this prohlem at all. Like here in Slovakia I read a lot of reviews and people reviews, and no one was affected by this problem. So I bought it too, and never this problem never happened so far. So... you make a conclusion

Buy the phone, The bang for buck is high regarding performance. Screen is good and if you lucky like me almost no back bleeding. The phone itself has a solid build and you get the Quality feel when you hold it. Camera is good and HD recording as well.
I only had the random reboot issue at the begging but with the latest Update its better now, has occurred but not that often like 1 in a month or something. Lags sometimes when installing apps or the F-secure is doing its thing.
Overall i'm happy with the phone, Just wished that LG put more ram and faster NAND. However don't get me wrong the phone doesn't bottleneck because of this performance wise. If i where you and wanted powerhouse that's cheap then the 2x is for you.
Also note that i run Stock ROM froyo, think with GB things will get better.
A tip if you get it change the launcher right away or put another ROM(CM7 or Modaco if you ask me, also check out MIUI) and Kernel.
(Haven't done it myself cause of lack of time, need to start exploring Android dev wise. Used to work with Winmo 6.1 on my xperia x1 (old dev) ).
If you have plans to use custom ROMs, buy it. I never had any problems with it.

Thanx for the replies guys, its good to know that things may not be as bad for everybody. I guess i might take my chances with this one.. Ill def be doing some more reading bout it though.. thanc again
I compared 5 phones:
Sony Ericsson Arc - no front facing camera
Motorola Atrix - no FM radio
Samsung Galaxy S2 - great phone, but a little out of my budget
HTC Sensation - a real contender, but more expensive than the LG and starting to get close in price to the Samsung
LG O2X - the lowest price with all the features I wanted.
I've had one reboot in over one month's use: I had the LG tethered to my notebook (works surprisingly well as a 3G modem). Surfing the net and charging the phone at the same time. I then started making voice calls and Tango video calls while still tethered to the internet and charging.
I could feel the LG starting to get a little warm and then bada bing! Re-boot.
I think I pushed it a little too hard that day.
Under normal use and conditions, my LG works well.
I would happily buy another one of these bronze beauties.
(I think black is also available, but I only ever seem to see the bronze coloured handsets)
Rhetorical answer - No.

Hi mate, are you from Italy?
I bought it 10 days ago at the same price you said on an Italian website (maybe the same u saw) and I had a lot of BSOD. IMO when you find it at a very low price it's because they have "bad" phones and they want to sell them as soon as possibile but I don't know if this is true!
But you have to consider that with the warranty you are almost sure that any issue will be resolved, you just have to wait... Mine is at the LG center right now and I'm waiting for it. Luckyli my HTC Magic is still working, so I have a good replacement during the wait!
Sorry for my English, I hope you understand everything

After first few days I was realy disapointed. The SW is realy but realy crap, battery was overheating, lasted only few hours. Response of the phone was very slow and I had few reboots. After 3 days I rooted it, flashed MODACO rom and ... I couldnt get better device for the price.

I am in Spain actually and it seems that my case looks a lot like yours. The retailer is very well known and it sells in all Europe. There is only 1-5 phones on stock at the moment so i think that maybe its a 'bad batch' that they are trying to get rid of, hence the low price tag. Mixed opinions here as well, so.. im really not sure about it at all. Continue reading
I'm satisfied of the phone...
When I buy it I had a lot of SODs with stock rom, but now with CM7 and MIUI this phone is much better...
Call quality is good
Camera is good (the glass in front of camera is crap...you have to clean it every time otherwise it causes the "myst" problem on the photos)

So.. The phone arrived yesterday from the UK. After about 10 hours of heavy usage i had 1 reboot, that, from what ive read over these days, doesnt really bother me.. Coming from a Liquid E, this phone feels very very fast, no lags or slowdowns of any kind. From earlier experience and knowing that the phone is on stock ROM, i can imagine that with a custom CM7 it should be faster than Bolt. BTW i left the phone last night with 64% battery and this morning i had.. 64% battery!! Incredible.. Anyways, im not gonna be flashing custom roms just yet, the only thing im interested in at the moment is getting the [email protected] patch working.. Even though i have found the 'start here' post here on xda, it will take some time to understand what needs to be done 1st etc since there's no clear guide, but im used to this kind of situations (just like anyone with a smartphone browsing through xda pages i guess).. Very happy with my purchase for now, i think that a tegra2 phone for 370 Euros was a bargain after all.. Thanx for your input, c ya around

2 of my hfriends have a sensation and galaxy s2. mine is the fastest
(i want an optimus 3d now )
i can only choose between LG O2x or Nexus S, i like the timely software support of the S but the specs on LG are way superior...should i just get the LG?

Abot the battery issue, Ive been having it too after one month using it. The thing is, that the phone actually gets charged, but somehow the phone unable to detect the actual battey level.
I found that restarting the phone will get the phone to redetect the battery again. I think its a SW problem though, so any custom ROM will likely fix the problem.

If you like to have the latest version of Android OD with no bells and whistles then get the Nexus.
If you like to wait 6+ months for LG to install a boatload of crap (that nobody wants) into a phone, then be late for work every other day because the alarm didn't work etc etc then go for the LG.
Nexus S anytime.

Should I upgrade?

Hi there guys,
Currently I have a S3, my friend recommended the Sony Xperia Z1 and after some research, it does seem quite a nice phone.
The issue I have with the S3 is that after a month or so of usage, it slows the hell down, im thinking kit kat would be able to resolve this regarding the way the memory store things as such.
Also Samsung has really pissed me off, my charging port on the phone is damaged, therefore I cant charge or connect to my computer. I have called up 3/4 times for a repair envelope to get sent to me, every single time I dont receive crap, all they do is send out another. Only choice I have is to take it to an authorised service centre which isnt too ideal as I work full time and by the time I get back home the centre will be closed.
I am on o2, my upgrade isnt till June, but I can buy out my contact for under £200.
I really do need to play with the phone itself, if its anything as smooth as my friends HTC One mini then I will buy it straight!
I guess I just need a nudge in the right direction?
Thanks.
I just upgraded from a Galaxy S3

The issue with the S3 is that
1. It doesn't have TRIM which causes it to slow down like in a month's use so 4.3 which does have it should reduce those issues.
2. Battery life is horrible if google now is enabled however doing a few tricks its solved.
I had an S3 and it was a lemming unit so I upgraded to the Z1... If your'e S3 is working fine once it gets the 4.3 update, hold on as the Z2 will probably be out in Jan-Feb... Its not worth getting the Z1 now halfway to December...

This comes with experience!
1. If you like to play with roms and modes, Sony is just not that great. For that HTC is the king and thats a huge thing for me
2. If you like to have a device with premium material in your hand Sony is the best, HTC is a close second and if I were you I'd blend the hell out of my S3 and then feed it to my worst enemy!
3. If you like lots and lots of software features stick to Samsung (I would advise you not to do it though!)
4. If you like the best UI go for the HTC
--------------
Pros and Cons time!
Pros:
1. Z1 imho is the best looking android phone ever (yes I had a black HTC One for a brief time and its a beautiful phone but I decided Z1 is better)
2. Z1 up until now has the best performance in graphics comparing to other "phone" flagships (not so sure about the G2 though)
3. Its waterproof (I love it, think about the opportunities you'd have by having a waterproof camera and you'll fall in love like I did!)
Cons:
1. Not even a good "8MP" camera, you figure what its fully sized pics would look like... if you can't check this out
2. Okay speaker comparing to other flagships but superb speaker among waterproofs
3. The display is power hungry
4. The display is also not that great specially if you got used to S3
5. Its an expensive phone considering your only option is 16GB (though you can add an sd card)
-------------------
all these things aside. As you can see I decided to buy this phone and I don't really regret buying it (I'm 80% happy) and again as you can see in my signature I wanna buy the Z2 too, so its really up to you to decide...
if you have any more questions I'd be happy to help you with what I know

This was very helpful!
The pros for the Z1 out weights the negs for me, im not a big modder, i just like to install omega rom and run that.
The biggest thing holding me back right now is the news of a Z2, if I get the Z1 now and the Z2 comes out after Christmas then that will not be good news since I will be tied into a 24 month contract!
I think I should fix my S3, install the new version of Android and test it out as im still on 4.2.
Thanks you guys.
its impossible that sony will announce z2 in Q1 . it will the same date as they declared Z1 . so go for it now and dont wait cause if u do so u will not buy any phone

Sony wont be announcing a new flagship device until Qualcomm announce theirs (Save February for Qualcomm and April/May for the Z2). I've heard that there will be a close to 2k display this time around I don't think it will be a good idea for "everybody" to buy the Z2 because of two reasons, 1. Qualcomm usually introduces two flagships a year, one at the beginning of the year and one at the end. The ones at the beginnings are always CPU jumps not graphical jumps, so considering the increase in resolution at best we will have the same performance as the Z1, 2. Since it is a new display there will be problems (which will be fixed for the Z3!)
On the other hand I'm pretty certain that the Z2 will be a considerable improvement over the Z1 camera wise that's why I say I wanna buy it.
anyways don't worry about the Z2 we wont be seeing it soon(probably!)
I decided I want it!
Now the choice is which network, three: £36 or O2: £41.17
I have used three before in an iPhone 4, it was pretty crappy in my area/house, I am willing to give them another try with the 7/14 day cooling off period, I can technically get out of the contract if I receive crap signal.
Im currently on O2, they are ok I guess, its nice to fall back on 2g if 3g isnt available.

Thats one network I would not like to go with. Friends who are on EE in my area have crappy connection/signal, granted they are not on 4G, but still it give me the impression of not being good.

I was on T-mobile and upgraded. Signal stable and H+ most of the time when not 4G.
service was good on T-mobile and same levels so far from EE as same people.
not trying to sell on, just giving honest feedback from experience
I'm on 3 and it's a great network and the cheapest. What's not to like about 2000 mins 5000 txts 5000 3 to 3 mins, unlimited Internet and unlimited tethering all for £15 a month! Mind you that's a sim only deal. I buy all my handsets outright I don't do contracts!! And also when 3 roll out 4G you don't have to pay anything extra on top.....happy days
I love my z1 paying 15 a month
Sent from my Z1 using XDA Premium App

Just an update, I got mine on o2.
I would have liked to been on 3 but they are pricks with their credit checks, rejected me for a £36 contract via affordablemobiles.
I applied for my 02 contract from mobiles.co.uk and was accepted say 9 hours later, £42 for 8gig 4g.
I dont understand 3, just take my money and stfu, now they lost the chance to take my money as im back with o2, oh well tough luck.

[Q] Do you guys recommend this phone?

Hi everyone.
Need a phone for my wife. Hers was lost ):
Thought of this or a Xiaomi one.
I like that this one has CM build.
How do U guys like this phone (even on stock rom)?
Would you recommend it?
Basic everyday usages. PS - how's the camera?
Thanks so much!
wont recommend for the camera, rest the performance & battery is huge and efficient... I keep iphone 7 for camera/snapchat/etc
No, not at all. After about 10 days I got airplane mode issue that can't be solved now, I had only 7 days replacement warranty :/ Camera also not of that level. So don't go for it.
thank you guys
The camera is not good and the fingerprint sensor fails after a few months, but the long battery life is awesome and software support (CM14, NucleaROM) is great. It depends on what you want/need. As a practical, affordable tool, the Zuk Z1's a great phone.
I probably wouldn't consider it if I weren't putting a custom ROM on it, though.
YES
Yes I would surely recommend you this phone. First thing is that its battery is very efficient. Next is that I liked its front camera 8MP. Performance is also quite good.

I do think, though, that if his wife wants a nice camera, she should look for another phone.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you are willing to install a custom rom

What's your problem with this phone and why are you only talking about getting custom roms???
I have my ZUK1 since more than a year as a daily driver. Travelled the world with it using its dual sim function to the fullest. Use my fingerprint reader every day and has not failed nor can I confirm the other problems people are "experiencing".
I do read a lot here and can only assume that a lot of the "problems" are self inflicted, flashing and or unlocking/rooting while they don't have a clue what they are doing...:silly:
My phone is stock COS12.1 since day 1.
About the camera...its not the best but for the money you pay descent enough.
I have also a NOTE 4 and can say the ZUK1 it beats the Samsung with ease and that for less than half the price.
And if you are scared reading about problems with a phone, please do yourself a favour and go and read on the Samsung NOTE 4 section...that's suppose to be a flagship phone!
Would I buy the ZUK1 again? YES, for the 200€ I paid more than a year ago it has fulfilled all its promises and is still going strong...but then again thinking about it, maybe its better that you buy another phone as I am sure I bought the ONLY good ZUK1 ever build!

I have my zuk z1 since October last year and flashed a rom a few weeks ago cause of all the problems with the standard software, yes I did try a factory reset to see if it solves my problems wich it didn't. The hardware of this phone is good enough the only problem I have is that my fingerprint scanner doesn't work anymore. The biggest problem is the software, it's buggy, slow, still runs on lollipop and the last security update is form June

Lolipop is pathetic, with default operating system screen was way too yellowish (even after customizing colors), finger print button wasn't working as home button, too old operating system the default one is.
I also won't recommend, even if you he goes with it I'll recommend custom rom.
Phone is great, really a value for money device. I was one of the first that took the risk to buy it more than 1.5year ago, but it turned out it was the best choice. ZUK Z1 still going strong in 2017.

I agree, good value for money! Has the best GPS I ever encountered in a smartphone...
When I unpacked my "brand new" phone more than a year ago it had (still has) a small nick in the frame next to the USB charging point, that's how it came off the production line. Got the phone off ebay.de and decided it wasn't wort the hassle to get is shipped back and replaced. Lenovo probably "marked" the few good phones...

Question S21 Ultra it is worth it?

Hello here guys, I need some of your knowledge and those who have the S21 Ultra in their hands.
First thing I am a htc fan since 2010 with the htc .. After this I changed htc phone every 2 years until 2018.. My last samsung phone dates back to the samsung galaxy S I9000 model back to 2010 and I didn't like them, I didn't keep them for long. My actual phone is the last flagship is the HTC U12+ i liked this phone very much and still love it, it still works fine but it is getting a bit old. After this Unfortunately HTC is almost dead since the takeover by google, i only had one major updates from android since, and give us only android pie and security update July 2019 this is unacceptable for a flagship i have pay more than 1000 $ for it in 2018. I would ideally like to have a new phone with new technology this year. I wanted to wait to see the oneplus 9 pro but .. the 8 have so much problem and i have read on the forum, the update support is getting very bad like htc .. and google no longer make flagship... Not a lot of choice other than that .. and i never want an apple.
So I am looking for the S21 ultra but it is a tough decision for me! I need your experiences with this device and with samsung..
Are samsung phones is strong and durable?? I dropped my HTC several times with a case of course i always have a case on the phone and a screen protector and is never broken. One ui has become much more interesting i have see but i still need to make some debloat it with the root. I find that the fast charge is a little low for this phone, how long does it take you to charge it with a 25W? what more can you tell me about this? Also another thing that bothers me is the curved screen. I am really not convinced on this? but all the flagship are like that now. A Another problem for me is the root, I don't want a phone without root! I am in Canada, and I know that the galaxy variants canada, the bootloader is completely locked and still no possibility to unlock it on this i find samsung very stupid about this.. unless that has changed but it would surprise me I saw nothing of that.
So if I want the device I have to buy the global model ( i want snapdragon too ) ( china model i think ? )which is the SM-G9980, but as I have seen 5G will not be compatible in Canada with this model, can someone confirm that? for 5G and that this model the bootloader is unlockable please?? I don't care much for 5G either but I would prefer to have it compatible.. If i flash a canada firmware is will work or nothing will change ? and is even possible to change the firmware ? For several years now I have been buying my phones full price from some online stores that sell global devices in Canada and for a little less expensive too. I am with public mobile ( belong to Telus Canada ) i really like this company this will work for the 3G and 4G i have see right? not sure.
Thanks for reading me and your answers guys!
UP please ??

The phone is not worth it!
This is a gadget geek forum many of us waste money on shiny toys. You have a very old phone by the standards of tech enthusiast, but you don't seem like you feel you're missing anything accept software support. If that's the only thing that really concerns you, I would say save $600 and get the Galaxy FE. It will outperform your current phone in everyway. It has a plastic back cover that feels like premium material but is durable. It's 5G. It has android 10. Its got better cameras. It has an SD Slot. I think the only thing you may miss is the headphone jack, and just about all phones are loosing that. So I would say unless you plan to change the way you utilize your phone. Save your money and go Mid Range feature rich, your not going to miss flag ship features you've never used and will never use more than a few times just to test it out anyway.

I agree with you. Those flagships models are not worth the money the vendors are asking for. Sure they are really good like Samsung S21 Ultra which is my daily driver now, but typically you get all you need either with new midrange phones or 1-3 years old flagship models.
Hi, I pretty love the flagship but yeah I find it expensive this phone... Will see what I will do. In the meanwhile if someone have the information I want for the model is will be great!

The Ultra has the least aggressive curve of all curved Galaxy models. The viewable area doesn't really cascade over the side like my s10+.
The phone takes maybe 100 minutes to charge but I haven't really done a controlled test. I'm just going off the avg time it says when I plug it in to my QC 3.0 charger.
US / Canadian Galaxy 21s will likely never get a real root. Root would most likely trip the security fuse if ever possible. So at that point you could no longer use NFC payments. I could be wrong on this since I haven't been rooted or unlocked since HTC M8 days.
As far as durability goes, this phone is made from the most durable Corning gorilla glass on the front and I think the back is one step down. The phone has a metal frame and the camera housing is integrated into the metal frame. So I'd say it as durable as a glass phone can be.
I can offer no insight on Chinese market phones and their radios compatibility. I'm not brave enough to spend $1000+ ordering a device on the net unseen, with no warranty, and questionable compatibility. I need my device to work out the box, root is not that important to me anymore.
@mc_365 So you have the phone with what I have understand? Well I know is since the s7 I think the us and Canada having a locked bootloader and I find it stupid from Samsung really. For the NFC payment , my last three phone having it I think and I am still not using it.. Still not really interested by this. Well the root for me is still pretty important , I am using it for some reasons...
Well my last two HTC devices I have buy the global version and everything work.. and the phone work great too, and warranty on this. Is for Samsung phones I am a bit lost.. for the global version ( because the bootloader is can be unlock and also global version phone is always less expensive I buy my phones full price) what is working in Canada and what not...

Yes I own the Phone.
I bought the phone outright as I do most of the time.
The non US/CAD phones are unlockable because from my understanding the law requires it in Europe. In the US the I think the carriers are concerned with subsidized phones being hacked for use without paying the phone off. That in combination with the US credit card companies concerns about fraudulent payments from hacked devices. These 2 major industries (Telecom and Banking) force the manufactures to adhere to these demands. So US/CAD and EU being the 2 major regions with strong governing laws force companies to comply or not be allowed to sell direct to consumers. Samsung has decided to just make it easy and keep everything coming to the US and CAD locked down tight. Europe must have their phones unlockable and the Chinese probably have some rules, and that's why they have Snapdragon chips and the rest of Asia has Exynos. There's probably some back door built into the Chinese variant for the CCP to monitor or to enforce the firewall etc.
Global version is less expensive because it has Samsung's Exynos processor which was somewhat inferior to Qualcoms Snapdragon in the past. Also in my experience you only save on the Global models after the phone has been on the market for a while. When it is relatively new you pay a premium to get that device from an importer. And again you get no warranty or support.

Not exactly , the global version I am talking about is the SM-G9980 and is the Snapdragon model ( Hong Kong ) is unlockable. I have buy my last two phones at launch day and is 200-300$ less like the s21 ultra right now... And I have got a support and normally a warranty.
However, not very precise for the bands network here. I am looking for that is will be the same for all Samsung phone I guess.

Well as far as I have ever know, Samsung does not offer any warranty or servicing on devices purchased outside the region it was intended to operate.
Maybe the specific vendor your buying through is willing to warranty the device. But according to everything I've read and every place I considered buying from its always been stated up front,"Intl version NO Warranty" and the Exynos versions were cheaper but the Chinese version were just as expensive and more in a lot of cases. I've also heard of people receiving the phone and the language be set to Chinese and they could not operate the phone, LOL.
If my S10+ had 5G or 120hz screen I would have stuck with it. S21 Ultra is a great phone but in reality overkill for me. But I got $700 worth of trade in credit 500 for the phone and 200 worth of new accessories. So for ~$750 tax included and my old phone, I got s21 Ultra 512GB, Buds Pro, Soft touch Silicon + Spen case, Soft touch Silicon case, Clear TPU case, Rugged Hard Shell case with Kickstand, and a tracker tag thingy.
the s21 ultra is FAST and smooth.
i going to keep it for a few years unless the newer phones are a lot better.

I have the 988B/DS and I love it. I had a note 20 Ultra and I traded it for the s21 Ultra and I don't regret it.
Durability: Phone has Gorilla Glass Victus (latest one) on the screen and on the back as well, really premium look (love the phantom black color). I don't plan on dropping the phone to test it lol, but videos show quite a lot of durability in drops up to 10feet. I will get a case to protect it just in case.
Storage: I don't miss the SD card (havent used one in over 7 years). I have the 256GB model one (12GB ram) and with cloud storage I don't think i will ever get close to filling the phone.
Cameras: I love the cameras, but it does get a bit to get used to the different options and mastering it for pro photos. It really is something else.
Processor: i have the Exynos version and I can't find any lag or issues with it. no overheating (this seems to have been fixed with an update), no issues at all with the phone.
Battery Life: With the 25W charger, from 0 to 100 in about 100 minutes give or take. It does charge fast, keep in mind that the battery is 5,000 mah so I don't think it's bad charging time.
Honestly? It is worth it... Not sure if changing from HTC will mean a lot of getting used to, but it's a nice experience.
I don't think flashing firmware to other models will result in 5G band compatibility, you can enable other market dependent services, but I believe network bands are more of a hardware thing.
About rooting, I used to root all my samsung phones and play around (and brick some phones) along the way, but I don't know why, but tripping knox and messing up banking capabilities is not of my interest. I'm happy with the phone as is and don't intend on rooting (disappointing I know).
Hope these comments help a bit on your decision making process
Thanks for your answers! When I have buy my HTC phone global version I had always every languages even the French ( the French is my principal language ) but with what you are saying the global of Samsung do not have this, China language? Can you flash firmware of another country on it like Canada? I do not much how Odin works... Yeah I am still not sure about the network bands compatibility and if is a software things or hardware? I saw posts that said it was one or the others things... Not really specific!
Disappointing? Yeah? Haha! Well in your place i wouldn't stop myself if the device you can unlock it !l Also in the reviews I have see is take approximately 1h11so 70 minutes to charge completely the phone with a 25w charger , why a big time difference here?

I used to root all my samsung devices (I stopped in Note 8). About the battery charge time.. I haven't let it go to zero lowest I have gone is like 35% and then charge so my calculation was based on the time to charge from that point, so 70 minutes is NOT bad at all...
My version has French language as an option in intitial setup (it has a bunch of languages - pretty sure it covers all needs).
Also, reading further in the forum, 5G bands are more software related (enabled), so it seems flashing firmware will enable/disable bands.
There are many posts in the forum on how to flash different firmware or change CSC codes so youmight want to take a look there. Odin is pretty safe to use if you follow the instructions. I haven't used with recent samsung devices, so I'm not sure what considerations you need to take.
I love the phone, but then again, I do not get to deeply play with it (unlocking the bootloader, rooting, flashing) as I did with other devices but I'm ok with it (for now). Given it's a pretty new device, it's kinda hard to find stuff for it yet.

I think the time difference is because we are not testing the battery with stop watches we are just telling you what it says on the screen when we plug it in and giving you an ball park estimate. It always says a longer time to full charge but ends up being faster as the battery calibrates during the charge process. Its like when you down
load a large file from the net it first starts off saying 20 minutes but then only takes 5.
If they don't fix the camera, especially taking photos at night (Exynos2100 version), Do NOT buy this phone
@mc_365 I understand now what you are saying... Thanks!
@oae08 What is the problem exactly with the camera? I do not see that on the reviews , good to know if you have a problem! Do you know if is Snapdragon too ? Or only exynos

So your 988B/DS is the global version ( china and global is the same thing as a know ) on Exynos if I understand? And you have French on it and many others languages!
Do you have some links near for what you are talking? About the 5 bands and the software flash? No need for how to flash a firmware of CSC codes I know is easy to find this, but it is quite possible to do it, to flash the firmware of the country you want right? No problem on the device after this? Also you only need the bootloader unlocked for flashing a firmware on a another country I Guess ?
Well I know magisk is not working yet on the s21 but is will be soon.

The camera is really disappointing. I have bought this phone for just over almost 1600$, which is above my budget actually) but I was really anticipating to buy a phone that has a monster camera that I can use to get decent photos point to click. However, this is not the case. The night time photos especially, are bad quality and there is too much flare. I have tried it in many different scenarios and cleaning the lenses in every possible way but still the flare is way over the acceptable. I even compared with iphone 11 photos taking the same photos back to back and the older iphone 11 results in much cleaner and better photos.
Please note that i HATE the iphone, but this is the truth unfortunately. So until samsung releases an update to fix this (if its even possible), the phone is not up to standard.
EDIT: I have the exynos version

Odd, I have the Exynos version and haven't had any issues with the camera in the many modes even night mode and it's awesome. I don 't know if the latest software update had something to do with it, but when I bought the phone and turned it on it updated and the update said camera fixes, so that might have been the case.
