Bionic @ Best Buy - $229.99

Just a heads-up to anyone who may have purchased at Best Buy. I was there picking up The Lion King 3D yesterday morning (don't judge me!) and while waiting in line at customer service for them to apply my pre-order to my transaction, I noticed that the Bionic's tag listed $229.99. I immediately went to the girl working Best Buy Mobile and asked her to refund me the difference, which was done with no problem, as Best Buy offers 30 days for mobile hardware returns.
So if you snagged up your Bionic at Best Buy, get back there before your 30 days are up and get yourself some moolah back. My difference was $74.20! Hope this helps someone out.

Nope. She just pulled up my receipt (because I asked her if I had to run home to get it) and they did a return/resale and just refunded me the difference. Piece 'o cake.

I just went up to her and said, "I just noticed that the Bionic is considerably cheaper than when I bought it. Since there's a 30-day return policy on phone hardware, I can be refunded the difference, right?" She immediately confirmed. I can't promise they'll be nice enough to look up your receipt or not make you bring in your packaging and such (if they are, indeed, douches) but per policy, they can't tell you no, so long as it's within 30 days.

Yes, because best buy has a 30 day price match guarantee on just about everything they sell. This applies to their own changes in price and to "local businesses" pricing. So if walmart/radioshack lowered the bionic best buy will match the competitor price if you are in 30 days of your phone purchase.

Canceling Pre-Order, Buying at Gamestop.

NEED OPINIONS?
If gamestop is selling the nexus 7 in stores beginning tomorrow (12th). What's to stop me from calling google and canceling my order, hopping in the car and buying one over the counter tomorrow morning? Problem? I'll call around to the gamestops in my area to see if this is possible. anyone have some insight for me on this topic? WILL IT WORK?

no, order cancellations are being blocked. but you can return it when it does come.

Depends on what happens, if you have been following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737556 you would know that gamestop may or may not have received an email from google telling them not to sell tomorrow. Also a lot of people who called google to try and cancel have been told its too late to cancel and they would need to wait till after delivery, return/refuse delivery and wait a few weeks for refund.

Here's whats stopping you...
I'm 99% sure you have to be on a preorder list from Gamestop to buy one...
You're not going to stroll in to gamestop and just pick up a Nexus 7 off the shelves. Gamestop has already hit their national wave 1 quota from google. I preordered my nexus 7 on Saturday, the 7th and I'm on wave 2. With that said, I don't know how stores would have nexus 7's just available to a general consumer to come in off the streets.

Bought two ipod touches off craigslist for 60 and 65
Traded them both in for $240 credit
270 (after taxes) + 125 (craigslist ipods) - 240 (trade in credit) = 155 for a brand new Nexus 7

If you would have looked more carefully, you'd see DROID - Life put the link in the article, and the auction ended at $105. Whether he gets paid is yet to be seen.

Deeeeefinitely not worth the price tag. I would say keep it in the box until they become available, but due to most 30 day polices and all these defects, I'd just as soon hold off on purchasing the device until it's all available at once like it should have been from the beginning.

Hell to the nah! The buyer is trying to get the exact amount for what they have posted. It lessens your ability to get your $$ back if there is ever a problem, its also against the marketplace rules. Read it and learn.
Yes it was tested on animals, didn't fit.

If they are requesting gift payments then please use the report post function as this is against the rules.
As mentioned, this makes it much more difficult to recoup a loss and the seller is only doing it to avoid fees.

never ever ever ever pay with gift online, you are not secured, and if you tell PayPal you paid as gift to a seller that was a bum they'll say too bad and hang up on you.

Claims he did nothing wrong. Something about his feedback on ebay. He didnt reply when I asked if he asks for gift on ebay too

Ok, so I'm the guy he's referring to. I gave my ebay references to him and my fredmiranda.com reference. It doesn't look though that he bothered to check them. My objective was to avoid paypal fees, I guess the right way would have been to ask him to pay the Paypal fees himself. I know this is not fredmiranda.com, but over there, it is common practice to ask the buyer to either pay as gift or add the Paypal fee in the final price.
And I did just respond to his cynical ebay question. This could have all been avoided if he just said no to my terms. If he didn't like it, all he had to do was either suggest that he would pay the fee after I made it clear to him that I didn't want to pay the fee, or simply say no thanks.
Instead, he made this a bigger issue than it really is.

2) I supplied you with actual photos of the phones.
3) I supplied you with my ebay and fredmiranda.com accounts so you can check me out and cross reference my accounts.
4) If you bothered to check me out in fredmiranda.com, you'd see that I bought and sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of photo equipment... And not a single negative feedback!
5) And with you... All this for what? $50? Yes folks... For a $50 transaction for 2 phones.
This is definitely not worth it.

It's been stated countless times to add Paypal fee into final price. why should it be up to the buyer to do the math for you? I hate when i see for sale threads with that crap on there. Just have it all factored into the final price. Simple

The lowball offer he's referring to are for a palm pixi and pre two dead phones with no future but I like webos but wont pay out the nose

Hey all, I love my N4, but seeing everyone in the android communities with the nexus 5 makes me cry inside, so I wanted to get one. Problem is, I'm 14 which is below the legal age to work, I root/flash/unlock/etc. peoples phones off craigslist, but that isn't too efficient as I get about $40 a week from that IF THAT, and $40 a month goes to my servers, any ideas on how I can make money? Preferably online as I go to school and I can't really do as many things during the day. I know Java, HTML, CSS, a LITTLE JavaScript, Python, C++, and some Lua. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks all! <3

Well first, I think this is the wrong forum. Might want to post in Q&A. Secondly, my advice as a guy who has experienced the same phone envy as you is to be patient, save up, and wait for the Nexus 6 to come out and get that. It'll hand better battery life, and you're not making a huge step up. I've tried it out, it's not worth the upgrade if you're strapped for cash.
IF you're still interested in a Nexus 5 in spite of all these discouragements, then my advice is this. Sell your phone, which should net you at least half the value (more if you're crafty) of the Nexus 5, and do some phone repair. With the addition of phone repair, which could give you, say, $80/week or every two weeks, within a month you'll have the proper funds. If you sell your phone, get a dumb phone in the meantime. I'll donate one of my old ones to you for free if you want.
Shovel snow, mow lawns, work your ass off doing odd jobs going door to door until you get that phone (wash windows, teach elderly how to use a computer or tablet, walk dogs). You'll be a better man for it and it'll build up that work ethic. Honestly when I was younger I walked rich people's dogs and made a ton of money, helped me save up for a car.

I would say find a part time job with at least 10-18 hours per week, in one or two month (depends upon salary) u'll be able to buy nexus 5 without even selling nexus 4.
