[Q] (answered) Turn Off "Internal Storage 75% full" - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Is there any way to turn off the Internal Storage is 75% full message? The message has started appearing in my notifications, but when I check storage I have 7.5 GB available. I am currently using the stock AT&T jellybean firmware which is rooted.

Re: [Q] Turn Off "Internal Storage 75% full"
Make a backup of everything in your storage and format it.

I have it backed up on my computer. What is the best way to format the internal storage?

Re: [Q] Turn Off "Internal Storage 75% full"
Settings > storage > clear internal storage
Or you can do it from cwm but the first one should work.

Thanks, I have done that before. I was thinking there was something else that said "format".

If your question has been solved please change the thread title accordingly, as per the instructions in the sticky thread.

Your problem was buggy indicator. But if you want to turn off the notification even if it is correct (e.g you have 16 GB phone, 75% full means you still have 4GB), simply tap&hold on the notification. A menu with one option will show, select -> it will take you to the app info. Unselect notifications from this app and you will not see it again.
The app is called Memory btw

Internal Device Storage Is Getting Low

Hi
I have read all the similar threads on this topic and none of them have solved my problem. I upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3.3 (this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854) before re-installing all my apps.
I have about 200MB of apps (incl data). On 2.2, out of the 1.65GB of 'Internal Device Memory', I had over 1GB free.
On 2.3.3 after a few days of usage I have 0MB free and a warning 'Internal Device Storage Is Getting Low). If I delete an app, or move it to SD, then this free's up some storage, but that storage is soon utilised by 'something'.
I have tried the solutions from other threads:
- Clear Cache for app apps one-by-one
- Boot into recovery mode, and chose the 'Wipe Cache' option
- Check /data/tombstone for crash dump files (none present), indeed, no 'tombstone' folder is present.
Does anyone have any other solutions to my dissapearing storage issues?
Nigel
Try SD card and device storage/format USB storage and then reinstall the applications.

Are you using the stock mail apps?
This mail program doesn't empty your bin other that manually one by one
I remote all settings and changed to k9 mail
Also take a good cache cleaner

Memory error when taking photos

Hi
Seems that there is an over the air /network update from Sony for my phone. Xperia T from phones 4 u. Foolishly (it seems) I attempted to install it, and it failed. My phone is rooted and has Cwm on having unlocked the bootloader. Since the failed update I have been unable to take photos as I get an error saying 'memory error' saving photo failed.
I tried the fixing permissions option in Cwm, then I tried restoring from a backup from Cwm which initially moaned about not being able to write to E/..
Second time around the backup restored fine but still same problem with taking photos.
Photos are saved to the internal storage right, which I have not touched..
Any ideas as to what is going on here and how to fix it?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Nat
Ps. Assuming that the update from Sony didn't work because of the rooted/cwm/unlocked bootloader state of the phone..? It calls itself 7.0.A.3.195

what is your problem?
Is it a memory error or is it a failed update?
For one, the solution is to backup up the memory cards and format them, for the other its to run the install again from pccompanion.
Sorry hadn't quite finished writing that when it posted and you replied. (have updated it now)
Does the advice still stand?

You cannot update the phone via official methods if you have unlocked the bootloader
Yes, advice still stands. Backup internal memory card, format it in settings and restore it
Thanks, is that 'clear internal storage' option?

assuming its not clear internal storage and is in fact formatting with CWM..
however..
if I backup my internal memory card, then format it with CWM
how do i get the data back onto it?
as it wont boot if I wipe it - or at least that is what happened last time I tried
can I mount it in cwm and copy stuff across that way - because I did try that last time with no luck and ended up having to start again with a ftf
You can always format from within android. Settings> storage> format/wipe internal sdcard if I'm not mistaken

[Q] Cannot Delete Apps or Google User Account even after flashing ROM

Hey everyone,
My friend gave me his tab p1000... but I cannot seem to remove apps or even google user account even after i have:
- Reset the phone
- Flashed stock rom v5 ROM with ODIN (with repartition and also flashed dbdata).
- I also tried NAND Erase All, which soft bricked the tab but i was able to get it back.
Even with all this, all the apps are still there.. when the tab loads up.
The Apps keep crashing every minute though.. so they are not stable.
--- Things Note:
1.
After flashing stock rom, when it enters recovery i get the following errors:
part(1): Checksum error
MMC verification failed
and
cannot find: /preload/app folder
2.
There are some weird files under the internal memory root folder that cannot be deleted.
Well you can delete them but they come right back up when you remount the internal drive(16gb).
Also the application folders cannot be deleted.. they reappear once you remount the internal drive.
the files are:
- Copy of Shortcut to (1/2/3/4).lnk
- glweax.exe
- glweax.scr
- x.exe
- xxx.dll
- zjroic.exe
- zjroic.scr
-xjdqob.exe
3.
There is an app called - Perfect Applock - that might have something to do with this.. Not sure.
I have read in forums, to put the phone in flight mode and restart it, then try to go to app manager within 30sec to uninstall the app.
i tried that but it still doesnt work. the App still exists..
btw, i have also tried removing the apps via app manager, that doesnt work. although it says sucessfully uninstalled.
when you reboot the tab, all the apps are present.
4.
I installed root app using superoneclick so that i can install a root explorer app - but it kept crashing.
---
My guess, is that there is a virus, or something that is recreating the apps. or not granting access to where the apps are stored (guessing in /preload/app).
i have read forums and some people said it might be a faulty internal storage.. i did the checks(some commands using adb) to verify but it was negative.
so i dont think the internal storage is bad.
Right now i am stuck... the tab has stock rom v5 installed right now.. not rooted and with 3e recovery.
any help will be greatly appreciated.. thank you in advance.
Wipe the rom...

correct me if i am wrong.. but isnt wiping a rom the same as flashing a rom??
i have flashed the stock rom.. and the apps werent deleted.
if its not the same, then how do i wipe a rom??
---
Just to add, i have noticed that i cannot format the internal storage.
- tried formating by phone (settings > sd card and device storage > format usb storage). it completes but nothing gets deleted.
- tried formating from computer, - it doesnt complete.
- tried formating with partition wizard.. it completes succesfully but nothing gets deleted.
Hence i think the issue is - something is preventing access to internal storage..
is there any app/adb command that i can force format the phones internal storage??
Stubborn data/apps is a sign of internal storage going bad.

Formatting from computer formats your sd card..and no, flashing a rom via recovery does not necessarily mean a data wipe...try following ChrisCTX's guide...search for it

Hey Gogol,
thaaanks a lot. The guide worked after several tries.
Main problem was flashing cm9 pics rom. It wouldn't complete. But I kept trying and it worked.
I now hv cyanogen mod 9 with ics. Using the tab to reply right now.
One issue tho is that the camera cannot store in internal storage. It needs an sdcard.
Is there a work around on this.
I looked under settings-storage and the internal storage is recognized.
And also under camera settings internal storage is chosen as storage location but it cannot save there.
Any Ideas? Guess I Have to find a way to make internal storage and sdcard storage the same.
Thanks

i forgot but it looked for a guide to switch or exchange internal and sd-card.
so the tablet will think its using the internal storage but its actually using the sd-card.
its somthing like this:
If you take a root file browser and edit /system/etc/volb.fstab, there are two sections you need to edit. "dev_mount emmc /mnt/emmc" changes to "dev_mount emmc /mnt/Edvard" and "dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard" changes to "dev_mount SD card /mnt/emmc".
i cant confirm this is what i did.. but i am sure i edited the volb.fstab... i had to google around for a while till i found one that works for me.
make sure you backup your volb.fstab before you make changes.
Note: i found cyanogen mode to be slow running from sd-card.. so i changed to a regular gingerbread rom. and i was able to edit the volb.fstab with sucess.. and the camera was able to save pics.. the tablet just always had the - NO SD-CARD icon at the top all the time. coz it thought the sd-card is the internal storage.. and the internal storage which i removed was the sd-card - which i destroyed.
hope this helps.

Trying to update apps - insufficient storage message.

Hi all.
Having a bit of an issue, I am unable to update apps I keep getting the message Insufficient storage available and Im not sure it is connected but I am also having iissues with the data connection..
The phone is a standard non rooted N7000 running 4.1.2
Device memory 1.97GB
Apps 475mb
Available 207
And theres not that many apps installed and no games. I am not very technically minded when it comes to these things which is why its not rooted, I prefer things with nuts and bolts..
Any advice in the simplest terms would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

that's the problem, if i got Insufficient storage available notification i will restore to factory set up, disable some built in app. you can try to clear cache with some app, if you have rooted phone you can delete (uninstall some app you dont need).
sorry, im not use english very well
JB uses too much space in system partition so you will need to root and uninstall some bloat ware system apps to get it running.
Hmmm all get storage problems even 200mb + are free something isn't right here.
Allways when my free storage space is near the 200mb pops this issue as I was at 0 mb.

Try to check and see your storage available under setting, see how many space is available for both internal storage and the internal SD storage. As you say that you are able to install other app, then I think there should not be any problem with the storage available, well it's still better for you to have a look at it. Also try to move some app from the internal storage to internal SD storage, and try to install it. If it's still cant, then try to install it by download its apk from this official thread.

I think you have problems with your internal storage space. Take a look back your internal storage is what was left?! If this is your storage space is full, then you should have to remove some of the apps that is felt not need via TB Pro app. And see if the problem persists with it.
