Hi all.
Having a bit of an issue, I am unable to update apps I keep getting the message Insufficient storage available and Im not sure it is connected but I am also having iissues with the data connection..
The phone is a standard non rooted N7000 running 4.1.2
Device memory 1.97GB
Apps 475mb
Available 207
And theres not that many apps installed and no games. I am not very technically minded when it comes to these things which is why its not rooted, I prefer things with nuts and bolts..
Any advice in the simplest terms would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

that's the problem, if i got Insufficient storage available notification i will restore to factory set up, disable some built in app. you can try to clear cache with some app, if you have rooted phone you can delete (uninstall some app you dont need).
sorry, im not use english very well
JB uses too much space in system partition so you will need to root and uninstall some bloat ware system apps to get it running.
Hmmm all get storage problems even 200mb + are free something isn't right here.
Allways when my free storage space is near the 200mb pops this issue as I was at 0 mb.

The reason I mention tb is it has a market link which often affects downloads from play store. So if you've restored using tb, this may be why you're unable to download from play store

Simple question and you've probably checked -
But under storage what shows as used / free?
For both USB and SD card?
Might find your culprit in there....

Seems you've a s**tload of stuff on the internal SD ....
Possibly move some of the pics/movies/music to the External SD and see if you get the same issue...
Given that the OS will need at least some space to run 212Mb seems awfully low for your internal SD..
Just for reference - I've got
Internal Storage: 1.97Gb
Free: 1.38Gb
USB Storage:
- Total: 11.08GBl
- Free: 9.6GB
And my External card is more or less empty since last nights return to 'Virgin' system...
So that is:
SD Card:
- Total: 7.28GB
- Free: 5.76GB
Just a thought....

No don't even try it.
You're wasting your time. I had the same issue.
I deleted some apps, transferred them to sdcard, tried airplane-cold-reboot, wiped all caches, restored fixes, reflashed kernel... everything failed.
If you're in the same position as I was, then backup whatever you can.
Do a factory reset from the Settings (so everything in internal memory gets wiped).
Then wipe all cache, re-flash your rom, then kernel, fix permissions... and reboot.
Restore all your stuff, and it will magically be fixed !
(its because of accumulating bad partitions in your internal sdcard, combined with kernel misunderstandings, it makes it impervious to re-write in some sectors)

Do NOT Full Wipe / Factory reset on ICS Stock Kernel, For real safety save what you can - Flash a GB Stock via ODIN, Do your wipes / formats in GB then proceed from there...

Hello, right now i'm using miracle v4 ROM with dartremor a2sd script for cm7. I'm facing a apps installation problem that always occurs when I try to download big-sized app like inotia4, magic piano etc. It keep saying insufficient memory, but when I check the available space on titanium backup, I still have a lot of space in memory card also internal storage because of a2sd partition. Anyone suffer same problem as me?

i have same problem..
i hv lots of space in internal and memory card.
but evrything installs to the small a2sd partition, which is only 180 mb
I have 1.16 GB on my a2sd partition and 88.5 MB on internal storage. The inotia4 only around 43MB. But it can't be installed even downloaded before the download process it keep saying error insufficient memory.

Anyone know how to solve this?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
This is most probably some conflict with the play store and/or titanium backup
go to settings->applications->manage applications
Clear the data and cache from the play store
If still doesnt resolve the issue, delete the vending.apk from \system\app
use this to reinstall it

Okay, the first suggestion failed and now i'm working on the second, do i need to install it via root explorer (copy paste to /system/app) or just normal installation?

The second way didnt work either

Hi, my girlfriend have this phone and pratically she always have 20-30mb free on internal storage.
It's something like 159mb storage and just facebook its 40mb. She has a really low number of essential apps, and I already moved every possible app to the SD.
She keeps getting this NOT ENOUGH SPACE error, and everytime I have to clear facebook data to remove that.
Is the only solution to root the device to let more apps into the SD? is there any other workaround cause I would like to avoid to root her phone.
No ...! I think theres no other solution to move apps into sd when the device is not rooted.. bcoz like link2sd... it needs a superuser permission..and superuser works on rooted device

Also, you can not uninstall unecessary system apps, to create space in /system partition, without root acces

In my opinion the best solution is link2sd and in developement section is how to simply root/unroot your phone ... you can do a totaly backup your stock rom and install root patch ... then superuser app and link2sd ... you must partition your memory card ... you can do this in windows or linus with some free apps ... if you are afraid that your girlfriend will kill phone you can in superuser add only link2sd for root permission and when something will going wrong you can restore backup that you will do
I use always link2sd becose I have alot apps installed
Sorry for my bad english

in addition to saeed's answer, i should say that u remove facebook cache because it consumes a lot of space (use apps like 1tap cache cleaner).....no need to clear the app data
Try this tutorial: http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...-force-install-apps-sd-card-without-root.html
When my phone was not rooted I tried this tutorial and I was able to move Facebook and other unmovable USER apps to SDCard without ROOT!
Hi Guys,\
I am looking for your advice on some internal storage issues on my Samsung Galaxy Note 1 (N7000). i have been using mainly cyanogen rom 10 and Super Nexus Rom.
I keep getting warnings my internal storage (not the internal or external SD card) is nearly full. Apps won't install or update.
If i look at settings/storage/internal storage it says total space 1,97 GB. First it starts out grey and the bar is nearly full. Than it calculates and says there is 192 MB available, 631 mb Apps (app data & media content) installed and 7,71 mb cached data.
I am not an mathetmaticien, but 192 mb + 631 mb + 7,7mb adds up to 830,7 MB. Where is the other 1,166.7 GB gone???? What is eating my internal storage and how can clean this up?
I have tried wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wiped app data, used apps2sd, i have tried loads of cleaning apps. the only that works is a full factory reset. And after a couple of weeks the internal storage fills up again with ghost data... Any advice here??
Try to use Forever Gone, it fills the memory with .blank files, then it erases all those files and free up space. Hope it helps you with that issue.
If not, consider use another rom , like Asylum Rom, it's CM 10.1 and it simply rocks on my Note with no issues at all.
Good Luck!

thanks for the help,
But Gone Forever only cleans up the "internal SD card" Not the internal storage. I have 9 GB free on my Internal SD card, so thats not the issue. The issue is about the 2GB internal storage.

Actually, this post did solve my problem! But i could not solve it without root explorer! Loads of dumpstate files in data/log/ map! I deleted those and my my memory was back to normal! THANKS a lot.
Ofcourse, curious as I am: What the f .. k is causing this?? I did run a malware app to see if there was a corrupt app somewhere to blame.... but found nothing.

Hello!
I'm trying to install apps from either APKs or the Google play store, but when I try to install them I get an insufficient storage available error. The apps are about 10MB, and I have 2GB of space remaining!
Why is this happening? Is there an easy fix? I'm rooted with TwerkMyMoto but not bootloader unlocked.
Thanks!
