Bin4ry v25 Issue - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello All,
Used the root script from Bin4ry, all went well... except at the end where it informs you "If all goes well, I'll tell you, if not this will run forever" (or words to that effect), well... it ran for a considerable time, so I disconnected everything and messed around with the phone, terminal emulator informed me that I did indeed have root access (PID: 0) I was able to access sbin etc... great I thought, but why didn't SuperUser show a dialogue requesting root access... I assumed maybe a busybox problem so I downloaded that and installed it, it all worked well... still no root dialogue, just to make 100% sure I checked with RootChecker and it confirmed I have root. So I rebooted the phone, now there is no root access and I can't seem to get Bin4ry's script to work again, I'm assuming there are maybe remnant files causing an error of some sort?
Anyway, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this and maybe provide me with a solution to rooting the thing?!

Sv: Bin4ry v25 Issue
I use version 21, anyway this should be in the question section not general.
Sent from my LT25i using xda premium

v22 and later Bin4ry versions fail on Xperia T JB at the busybox installer, so use v21 instead. If you can't find it, I can upload it to somewhere, please pm.

I think just go to your phone, this line tells you what to do next
After restore is confirmed please look on your device and choose "Service Tests
-> Display" in Service menu and WAIT THERE!"
In your phone, the service menu is displayed, go to "service tests" > "display"
then just touch the screen, the color will change and the rooting process will proceed..

Downloaded v21, it still stops here:

It flashes up "Restore started", then a couple of seconds later "Restore ended", I'm guessing it doesn't stay in the restore process long enough, any ideas?
Cancel that, reset phone to factory, uninstalled/re-installed Companion, root now works...

Why? Binary v21 works very nicely with xperia T... Interestingly, v25 seems to temporarily root it, then on reboot a factory reset is required before v21 will work. Strange.

It would have done it by now, if it hasn't done it's job in 2 minutes, it's not going to... I know it's painful, but.. restore your phone back to factory, uninstall/reinstall the Sony app from your computer and try again, it took me a fair bit of messing around, and ultimately when I got to where you were that's what did the trick.
You're also getting a "Restore started" then straight away "Restore finished" dialogue right? ... that's exactly where I was.
How this works is, the backup restore process is started and data is mounted as r/w the superuser app and busybox are put there during this time (all ninja like), but it seems it can/does fail, I'm sure someone cleverer than us can shed light as to why, but until then... start with a clean slate both on the Xperia and your computer (... a complex version of "Turn it off and turn it back on again")

I once read somewhere you have to keep tapping it every 3 or 4 second.
That's whati always do and it worked for me. I always use v21 though (just because I have it )

Fortunately I didn't have to go through all this. I went through the simple version of "turn it off and on again", and it worked. I simply disconnected my phone, rebooted it, restarted the process (twice), and it just magically worked on the third time.

Try v26 option 3. It worked fine for me. I have the Bond branded phone with locked bootloader.

[Q] Cannot get root on Xperia Z1

I've been trying this for most of the day, having read everything here about doing it, and even watching the video.
Unfortunately, I let the phone update to 14.1.G.2.257, but I found the instructions on how to flash back to the previous 1.534. The flashing worked perfectly.
I am trying to use Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v32 having read how to and watched the tutorial. USB debugging is enabled, as is Unknown Sources, and the 'adb devices' command in the stuff folder of the afformentioned program lists the phone.
However, it does not seem to work. I get the following output:

Yes thanks, USB debugging and unknown sources are enabled. Is this the screenshot you need to see?
**Edit**
I got it to work!
I just pulled out my laptop which had a clean install of Windows 7 as of a few days ago, installed the above stuff (plus ADB drivers from pdanet) on that, and it worked.
Why it didn't work on my main PC I have no idea, but it is probably an issue with some driver somewhere messing things up. I did try reinstalling all of them, but to no avail.
Anyway, got it now. Thanks!

Root Xperia Z1 (4.4.4 official), install recovery

Hello Sirs,
First of all, I did search about this topic and I couldn't find the answers I'm look for. (may be my search skills are so bad). I apologize if there is already a thread related to this.
So here is my issue.
1. Updated my Xperia Z1 (India) to official 4.4.4 update via OTA. I rooted the phone using EasyRootTool_v8. Everything looked good and I used root uninstaller app to uninstall Walkman (before backing up). Now I need it back because I felt Walkman 8.4.A.1.4 works better. So I tried to get it back by downloading the same exact walkman APK and put it in system folder with full permission and restarted the phone and that got installed. But everytime I restart the phone it says "Android is upgrading". After this when I try to open walkman it says "Unfortunately walkman has stopped"
2. So I tried to install the Dual Recovery and it says success, but with read only errors. The reason why I needed recovery it to flash everything from scratch and go back to 100% official built so walkman would work.
Here are the results of EasyRootTool v8 and Dual Recovery:

Please help as I'm very very new to this..
First, correct me if I'm wrong. Walkman 8.4.A.1.4 is on Android 4.4.3, isn't it?
I don't think so. But I received this update for Walkman only after updating to 4.4.4. By the way. I managed to root install the recovery successfully. Just waiting for the stock rom download to complete so I can flash it.

Z1 boots but cant boot into recovery or bootloader

Hey guys,
i have rooted many phones before, however i am having a problem with a previously rooted Sony Z1.
The previous happenings:
I rooted the device by unlocking the bootloader on the sony site. I then loaded on clockwork recovery and slapped cyanogen mod on it.
The phone was fine and working nicely, but recently stopped updating Cyanogen mod. I attempted to boot into recovery to install the latest version but all combinations of button pushing lead to nothing for a good few seconds before it starts to boot back into cyanogenmod again.
I tried using apps and various other methods to boot into fastboot, recovery and bootloader but it all goes right back into the OS.
I now have no way of updating the OS and tried using ADB to load on recovery again. ADB can see the device, and pushes successfully but when trying to boot into it, again, it does nothing but go back to the OS.
Can anyone give me a hand in popping on a recovery and somehow installing the latest Cyanogen back on? This is by far the biggest pain in the butt phone to root to begin with, but any help is much appreciated.

I've ran into almost exactly the same issue. Only difference is that I'm yet to install a custom ROM.
If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on the stock Vodafone rom.
I've tried running the dual recovery again it says it succeeds but I still can't boot into flash mode.
The weird thing is that I previously could.
I've also tried flashing boot.img but still no luck
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

You do not need recovery or root to enter flashmode. Flashmode is a boot mode that completely stock phones can boot into in order to perform updates via PCCompanion

I'm not sure how to quote inline as you just did but:
- Yes I've rooted the phone
- You're right I'm mixing things up. I can't enter recovery I can go to flash mode. (blue led)
- No I haven't unlocked the boot loader
- Dual fails on my Mac, I will boot into my windows install and come back with the output.
Thanks for your time.

Ok don't forget to flash the .108 kernel. It hangs there if you are on the .133 kernel.

Ok, so I flash the .108 first, then root, then flash 133?
Yes, but kernel only

Ok, so I
1. flashed .108
2. rooted user dualrecovery
3. verified permissions by creating a new file in system and recovery was working fine.
I then tried to install darkCM per instructions but after flashing in recovery the phone wont boot.
It will just show a a blinking red LED when it's on a charger.
The only way I could find to fix it was to install stock vodafone firmware.
I retried the above twice with the same result, I hope I'm not to much a nuisance but if you could help me any further i'd appreciate it.:good:

Hi. U need to update the busybox and then
try to install it again.
P.S. I think that it is must to be in the header.
Download is not working
I'm having issues downloading the following installer zip: Z3C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.3-RELEASE.installer.zip from nut.xperia-files.com
Each time I download the file, it has a different SHA1 hash and none of the last ten downloaded .zip files was a valid .zip file.
I can however properly download the .flashable.zip
Is the .installer.zip file broken? Or maybe the "randomizer" part that get's added to the URL?
[Edit:] None of the .installer.zip downloads are working for me, all of the .flashable.zip downloads are. OS is Windows 7 Pro with most recent patches, but shouldn't be relevant.
[Edit2:] Chrome and Firefox behave the same way, IE aborts the file transfer at a random point
PhilZ Touch & CWM & TWRP not installing
the process is stuck here for a long time. i have unlocked bootloader. my phone is z3 compact D5833 & not rooted. i'v pressed 3 & enter after opening the .bat file.
Fixed: Download is not working

In case anyone should ever have that issue: Downloading the file on my mobile phone using the QR Code and then transferring the file to my PC worked.
Awesome!
Thank you very much. You saved me, I was really stressing over this. Your solution worked perfectly. And so much simpler than many other options I had seen.
problem with 64GB microSDXC card
The recovery can not see my card microSDXC 64GB. 32 GB microSDHC card is visible. In version 2.8.10 and 2.8.12 is the same problem.

Are you installing on stock 5.0.2 and do you already have root access? If so choose option 1 during installation, if not rooted already follow the procedure to downgrade firmware and root on 4.4.
Guys, please much needed help here... For Mac.
I know very well for the devs this one is no brainer, but I need to ask since I'm not that tech savvy, anyway, here is the question; in the instruction listed, there is a command for windows and linux. May I ask how about for Mac, using the Terminal.app.
What installer option
Hi there,
I'm using Kingroot. Your install.bat file has options 1. Rooted with SuperSU & 2. Rooted with SuperUser.
Can I still use this installer? if so, what would I do, please.
Thank you
Hi, i flashed this stock pre-rooted with the recovery integrated on my z3 compact http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/d5833-lollipop-pre-rooted-xzdr-2-8-14-t3091372 and i have NDR Utils installed and i can reboot in recovery via NDR utils, but when I turn off my z3 Compact, once I boot it, I feel the vibrate, see the green light but whatever i do, holding or pressing volume UP or DOWN, nothing happend it won't start in recovery, just boot normaly, and I wonder why. If anywone have an answer, that would be apreciated thanks.
Hi,
I have rooted my Z3c with KingRoot and installed TWRP Manager. TWRP Manager installed a patch to enable writing to SD and busybox. My question is :-
Can I install the Z3c flashable zip via TWRP manager ?
Flash Recovery while already rooted?
Hi,
I have a Z3c which is already rooted and running SuperSu and Busybox. Is there a way to flash a recovery without going via an external PC?

No luck installer - waiting for device connect USB now
I am using the Z3C installer - I am rooted and running SuperSU. The installer starts the deamon and then waits for the device - and stays waiting.
I have tried with the USB cable connected before and after running the script - same result.
The instructions just say to run the script - is there another step that isn't mentioned?
Waiting for device - help
OK Z3C on 5.0.2 rooted initially with KingRoot then replaced with SuperSU. All functioning fine.
Now I need a custom recovery. Downloaded the 2.8.21 install script to a Windows 7 laptop. When it runs it starts a daemon and then says connect uSB cable now. It then waits for the device - for ever.
There is an option to install ADB drivers to Windows BUT that requires your 'phone to be in recovery. The Z3C has no recovery!
What am I missing?
EDIT
It was and ADB drivers issue. For anyone else having this issue Install the Windows version of the Sony Z3c companion as it will install the ADB drivers for you!
