Is there any way we XZ users can get dual workspace like some samsung phone? I did a search but found nothing useful
What do you mean with workspace ?? If you are saying that the zee will work on the gsm and cdma then that is just a dream
Hit the thanks button if i helped
You'll need a custom Rom to have dual workspace / multi tasking.
There are some apps like browsers and movie players but not to the extent like the note 2

i don't think that thr s rom to support multi-windows like note 2 and S 3
however it s not useful for phones, it good for 10" tablet

SmallApps and pop-up apps are more useful
guess I'll have to be satisfied with the small apps for now!

I have completed Framework and 2-3 more apks its turn of launcher its completed too just adding wallpapers is left
The problem is this: When i add more wallpapers (Wallpaper_name.jpg , Wallpaper_name_small.jpg) properly resized, after adding them to launcher, they sometimes don't show up in the menu -> wallpapers -> wallpaper gallery
or sometimes get added but while scrolling it comes to the thumbnail(small) wallpaper before it & hangs then says me to force close means its added but dosent even shows its small nor full pic.
only the default ones work
what can be the problem & how to solve this problem ?
I have tried :
1. Making the pic small in size(KB) by using PHOTOSHOP CS4 save for web & devices .... Still wont work
2. Tried usind different wallpaper from other themes......they too may hang or wont show up
some one plz help
This seems to be the problem we are all running in to. It seems to be a file size and free space issue within the OS that is causing the angst.
What I personally have decided to do is provide wallpaper pictures in a seperate downloadable file and just copy the images to the SD card to install teh wallpaper that way. It will keep the file size down and allow the user to choose the wallpaper that they want.
i havent been able to "add" wallpapers to anytheme, what i have done is just save my custom wallpaper with the same name as one of the defaults, replacing it in launcher and it works. my very first theme was like this so it isnt related to space issues
ya it isnt space problem its something related ti the jpg images i tried removing all the stock wallpapers only kept the one default , then added one of mine means it had only two wallpapers means even more space in the system partition
but when i install it it starts properly with default wallpaper but when i go into wallpaper selection it asks to force close that apk...
so i think the images too must be hard coaded or the xmls need to be edited...
trying using blank images to keep file size down. plus check out your theme size. roughly round 10.7, 10.8 is the limit i experienced. Makes sure you also signing your launcher apk
The theme is not complete so there only framework-res.apk, launcher.apk, contacts.apk, camera.apk in it with signed certificates and update-script in it
After installing it completes the installization successfully, then boots up properly with custom glow boot screen I can use the phone as normal, make calls, emails, and all the functionality...
But when I go to choose wallpaper, it hangs at the thumbnail image before the custom one... why is this happening I can't understand but I ll try getting it before theme competition...
Also I ll try using blank images and let u know... after m at home how I am in college...
Succeded but lost something
I have succeeded installing those wallpapers but i had to name it after the default ones so lost the default wallpapers...
yeah thats exactly what u need to do, just replace the icons or wallpapers form within the system, dont think there is another way to properly "add" things on top of the system...
and trust me, no one will miss the default wallpapers...
thanks guys i ll be soon posting the screenshots of my theme

Speaking of replacing things..... is that clock for FadeToBlue in the works? You've got my hopes up high when you've said you'd make one for me. Not a biggie, it's just that original FadeToBlue clock drives me nuts. Theme is all clean, proffesional looking and clock looks like...well...ummm... I should probably shut up now or I'll upset "Damnitpud"
Now, that I hijacked this thread....sangeet.003 , good luck with those wallpapers
Sorry

I just bought a 8.9, to upgrade my venerable original galaxy tab 7 that's been working flawless for the past couple years. One of the things I love about the original galaxy tab is that its basically a big phone. I prefer that layout to a tab layout where everything is small and many elements misplaced or ridiculousness small. Changing DPI on the 8.9 really doesn't solve the problem and it makes it incompatible with app's download with Google Play and other probelms.
Basically id like to get the 8.9 working with a phone UI, not tablet UI. I read a while ago somewhere that switching between phone and tablet modes in ICS is very easy, simply editing the build.pro and removing the lcd density line altogether, and instead using the line:
ro.build.characteristics=tablet
-or-
ro.build.characteristics=phone
I'm on a ICS build on my 8.9 but that doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas or suggestions would be super appreciated
Just saw your post I was searching for answers for this myself. Simply change your LCD density to 240. Make sure to have something like LMT Gesture installed as you loose your navbar. This worked with the latest CM9 for me.

Thanks for the reply.. Ive set the DPI to 200.. most elements seems better though I had to do several reboots after I changed the DPI till everything worked well.. specially LauncherPro that got all messed up for the first reboots (I use it as an alternative to TouchWiz that is horrible). Ive been using Button Savior App which is decent. Compared to my Galaxy Tab 7, the 200 DPI setting I have not is still not as right. So, UR suggestion is to up it a notch to 240, correct? Ill give it a try!! Thanks again
Not sure if you experience any lag from button savior but I strongly recommend LMT. Yup, 240 is right! 240 makes it just like a big phone.
---------- Post added at 02:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:48 PM ----------
Also be careful if your on a stock ROM as it may crash certain elements of touchwiz.

I don't like the big icons on my stock Z launcher, so I use Nova Launcher.
I see the Z Ultra Launcher has smaller Icons all round - So can anyone port this over to the Z ?
Something like this idea...
This my current setup with Nova, the icons are set as small as possible.

how you changed the soft keys (navigation bar) icons
I use Nova Launcher, you edit the icons by pressing and holding till the menu pops up, click edit, click the icon and you can change it to whatever you want.

Sorry for the OT:
If you do want to change your navbar icons, you can use this:
SoftKeyZ ★ root - Janis Elfert
Ensure you make a full backup or that you have the necessary experience to recover from any potential issues that may come up after using the app.
Sometimes it causes a boot loop or your navbar may disappear.
Most of the times, it is solely because permissions are incorretly set for SystemUI.apk, set it to 644(-rwxr--r--) if that happens
Let's move this to the thread you previously created to avoid going off topic here.

Hey guys I recently updated my Pebble Original to 2.5 and got to know that it has Accelerometer. Now my question is that is there any app/game which can works on Accelerometer? I installed a game app named as Fallout I guess and there is an option to select motion control but whenever I do that app crashes.
Regards
The Pebble Team released the official Compass app. It might not be the thin you're looking for, but it's fun for enough to check it out.

After using that I was so curious to see more apps so I posted here I hope some developers would develop apps/games in future for this awesome device.
Pebblin - an air violin
Bubble Level
Falldown - marble game with gesture support
Music Boss - has gesture support for music control
Simply Alarm Holo - has gesture for snoozing/dismissing alarms

Also I think you're confused. We've had Accelerometer (motion) support long before v2.5, many months now in fact.
What they added to v2.5 was Magnetometer (compass) support.

I've been unsuccessful in porting the stock launcher for custom roms since it's designed for SDK24 and keeps fc. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do so? I'd prefer not to use another launcher. I'm slowly learning Android coming from iOS.
If you haven't, give NovaLauncher a try. It's very customizable, and has a bunch of extra features!
Nah, I'm really just trying to figure out how to Port the stock launcher. I've used Nova, it's a good launcher and very customizable.

It just keeps fc on anything above 7.0, I'm going to just edit pixel launcher for the look of the stock launcher. Thanks though...
Is someone successful in porting the launcher?? i really like the stock one..
I wish someone would. Above my skills. I've gotten about half way through editing Pixel Launcher too match this stock launcher.
i also liked stock launcher
Just install the Moto Z2 Play Launcher from here. It appears to be the exact same as ours.
