My brother was playing on my the phone and put the wrong pattern multiple times so now I need my google account to log in and that does not work, so how do I unlock the phone and I don't think that wi-fi was on when he locked it so I don't know if it can check correct google account if the wi-fi is not activated, so can someone help?
Best bet is to take device to service store and have them unlock it. T-Mobile does it free

Don' t try it. There is a counter for number of attempts for network code. Just click cancel if it works. If not search a little on this forum

Since I upgraded to ICS on my Vivid, I've been using the face unlock option with pattern unlock after 15 minutes. Yesterday I decided I want to change that option. However, when I went into Setting/Security/Screen Lock option, the options "None" and "Face Unlock" were disabled with the message "Disabled by administrator, encrypt policy, or credential storage".
Does anyone have this problem?
Screenshot....
Yes I get that same message, but mine is because my work exchange email account requires either a pin or password lock. Is that the case for you as well?

Have you since installed a phone tracker app or something that takes over as phone admin?
I have been using Lookout since the first day I got the phone. I'll try to uninstall it to see if it makes any different.
Removed Lookout and rebooted, made no difference.
interesting... i was previously using phone locator pro, and it took over as device admin and limited what i could do to unlock the phone. i'm sure someone here will be able to figure it out!
I'm trying to unlock the Exhibit 4G this week for use on a trip abroad (and yes, it is legal to do so since this was a prepaid phone paid in full in 2012 so T-Mobile did email me the unlock code - all that is good). What I don't understand is why it is not prompting for the Unlock code at boot. T-Mobile says I must have another company's SIM card in the phone to unlock the Phone. So, I bought a Simple Mobile SIM and placed it in the phone but it just boots up to the ROM as normal without asking for the unlock code. I am using the Linaro 4.2 rom (which is amazing btw!) but I also tried with Peach Sunrise 3.0 and Cyanogen 10 - nothing but a normal boot with no phone capabilities. So I have these questions: Do I actually need to pay for SimpleMobile service first to get the phone to recognize the SIM as different and ask to unlock? (seems unlikely) - Is Simple Mobile just not a good SIM to use for unlocking this phone... Or do I have to go back to stock ROM and unroot to unlock this? Of course if there are any other apps or shortcuts that will let me get straight to the unlock code prompt I'm all for it. Any help is greatly appreciated - not finding a lot of answers out there on the net and if it is on this forum I apologize for not finding it and would appreciate a link to it - Thx!
You probably need a different sim card. As I understand it, T-Mobile phones don't need to be unlocked to work on Simple Mobile.

Thx - it figures I would choose that one to buy!
Meekrawb is right, simple mobile uses the T-Mobile network.

To get your IMEI go to your cell phone and enter *#06# This will give you a string of numbers you will need to unlock your cell phone. Enter *#06# as if you are going to make a call. Then you will be given the string of numbers you will need.

After you obtain your IMEI and copy it on a piece of paper, power your cell phone off. Take the back off if you have a removable back. Take the SIM card out. Put a BLANK SIM card in its place. Power the cell phone on. A screen should come up asking for your IMEI number to be entered. It should look like a rectangular box. Enter you IMEI. There should be a small box under the rectanglar box that you press. The phone should then eventally unlock itself. You can test it by putting a different SIM card in your cell phone.

I am wondering if all Note 2s allow for using gmail account to unlock phone when you are unable to remember pattern lock. I, Myself, do not have a problem, however, I have seen people mention they can unlock the phone if too many unsuccessful attempts are made at trying to unlock the phone. I do have a gmail account which is linked to the phone. I have tried 100 times to get it to give me the option to use the gmail account without any avail. I am a ATT user, was wondering if this might have something to do with it. The phone is not rooted. Any ideas? Also, it doesn't give me a countdown timer saying try again.
Thanks
Looks like I posted in the wrong forum.

Hi I'm needing help bypassing the activation lock on my brothers phone he bought it off eBay and when he got it he reformatted it (activation lock was not on in settings) but when he tried to go through the set up it asked for him to log in to the Samsung account (witch there wasn't one logged in when he formated it) now he's locked out of his phone and I can't work out any way of getting around it my self I have checked the imei number and the phone hasn't been reported as stolen
He has contacted both the eBay seller and Samsung but neither have been of any help it was running android 5.1.1
Make a Samsung account and log into it when the phone prompts for it.
