DriveDroid on One... - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, long time viewer, first time poster!!!!
I got my HTC One on Friday and the first thing I did was root it (as most of us do)
I'm running ARHD3.4 but seem to have problems with seeing the drive in windows. Even after uninstalling DriveDroid I cant see my storage. It mounts the HTC Sync Manager.
Has anyone managed to get this working properly or can suggest an alternative app to achieve the same thing?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but the HTC One X and S have a different way of setting USB-mode. DriveDroid doesn't support this yet, though I'm working on support.
To be sure you have the same problem, could you send me a support email through DriveDroids preferences?

Yes mate it is HTC apps by the look of it and the XBOX Live Extras will not work if u look at he apps page u can see it only people with a htc cannot use XBOX Live Extras on the reviews
I had the same problem with a Game called "Unite" (i think that was what it was called?)
Everything else seems to have installed fine though...
Pretty sure this is effecting everyone with HTC device - I guess they released to updates to fix other issues but they've created their own.
Judging by the speed of the first updates I'm sure this and Xbox Live Extras will be sorted pretty soon.
Typical teething issues - what happened to testing lol
whatever you do, dont delete and restart your device, otherwise now i cant do anything with those apps, they just do nothing now. =( not a very good start
edi* if this happens, a factory reset does the job
This is why I wasn't going to go HTC with wp7 if only the Omnis had 16gb anyware near me but the mess to much trying to put there own mark on things and always botch it same with sence it looked good but was so amature in exection
I just uninstalled all HTC apps and Xbox live rebooted and reinstalled Xbox live and its made no diff to live
so should I uninstall the htc hub, then try to find it again ?
also where does it show updates on the phone ?
No it makes no diff I got rid of all HTC stuff and only diff is I have no HTC stuff lol

No he's no the only one Facebook for WP7 is sluggish, compare to the iPhone or Android version is years away.
I used the android version for some months and the wp7 version is better than the android version. But this is my personal opinion.
hi guys ,Doesn any one know how to uninstall program from WP7.my memory full I couldnt find install uninstall pprogram option !!
Only problem I find with Facebook is the lack of online chat. Other than that, it's nice and smooth on my HD2.
I downloaded FiM as well to solve the chat problem, but it only seems to work properly if I'm connected via WiFi. over GPRS/3G it won't update chat windows unless you leave the app and log back in...

[Q] Screen Photos

Hi there, im very new to smartphones and i just start playing with it recently. Thanks to this forum i was able to change the themes of my phones with a couple of apps. The thing is how can i take photos of my phone screen? My HTC is not rooted yet, its stock. Thanks in advance. Cheers....o,O
Phone needs to be rooted. Once rooted, install ShootMe
Thanks ultim for the tip. Cheers...
Or you can install MyPhoneExplorer, and it doesn't requiere your phone to be root'ed.

Phone not rooted, no problem. You can install No root screen shot IT, or if you install DroidExplorer in your PC, connect and use the function screenshot.
find a photoshooting app in Market.
arrr......root...root........sigh
I personally use the 'screenshot' app. It is guaranteed to work on rooted phones as well as some non-rooted devices. I know it works on Inc S rooted but not sure without. Some settings are kind of neat such as shake your phone to take a screen shot.
hope this helps
now it's not a big deal to root, try it! cheers~

Mango HTC Apps Updates

To all of you that have WP7 Mango, HTC has released new HTC HUB and Flashligth updates.
New HUB has the newest look
Just update in Marketplace and have fun.
very good, thanks

Well i updated my HTC Hub but the LiveTile still doesent show the temperature!?
Can any one confirm this (in germany)? :-(
I confirm that the live tile doesn't update with the HTC Hub v2.2
It seems to be a specific on HD2.
Waiting for a solution and on this time, i use Hub NOW from Samsung.
The new hub only updates when opened and live tile shows temperature and location (at least for me it does) but we lost the ability to choose how often it updates.
what is your rom version ?
HTC Compass here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DEL7Q88F thanks to dazza9075 for finding it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17961768&postcount=32

Pity none of the new Htc apps work though, i'm talking about htc watch and Htc connected media. Lets hope one of the devs can hook us up.

My HTC Hub also stopped showing weather and temperature now.

u need to install the htc media stream as well in order for it to work on hd2. I've got it running fine ... sorry can't remember the link but should come up in a search.
Getting really tired of seeing "device not supported" now, some of it is due to the compass but i just paid for Gmaps Pro only to see that message yet again when trying to login to the latitude site through the browser.
kahiro, link would be gr8?
did search cant find anything
thanks

Skygo or 3 dot menu?

I will be receiving my new device today and I am having a bit of a dilemma. For the first time, I am considering running my device stock un-rooted as I really like to have the skygo app which will only function on an un-rooted device. The problem is, I know the 3 dot menu will really do my head in.
I am coming from the hox + were this menu can be disabled without root so, firstly, could somebody tell me how prevailent this is at present? Are there still a lot of apps with this problem?
The ideal solution for me would be to have skygo working on a rooted device but I have searched and searched and have not been able to find a solution for this. Is there one?
Also, perhaps a noob question, is it possible to root the device, remove the 3 dot menu then un-root it and still have this modification on place?
Any observations and help would be grately appreciated.
This is also the main reason I rooted. There are still a LOT of apps with the 3 dot menu and it is unbelievably annoying to see that black bar so often. I don't know why htc didn't just leave the option to long press back for menu in the stock Rom.

Yes, the 3 dot menu is there for many apps. Yes, it is annoying. However, seeing as the screen is an decent size and I have always had the 3 dots since owning the phone, I am used to it now, it doesn't bug me all that much.
Also, I think there is a decent chance this will be fixed when htc send out an update.
Sky go just recently updated to include working on the HTC one, who knows how long it will last.... Which is why I would say to stick with Unrooted for now if you are a sky go user

Since you already have a HOX+, enable the on screen menu & check the apps you frequently use if they are updated & don't need the menu button anymore. This way you will know if it will bother you or not.
Root the stock rom on your device, disable 3 dot menu, remove the Superuser binaries, install SkyGo. Works a treat!

If someone would like to confirm this as working....
I'd be more than happy with such a solution.
Where I put "Works A Treat" it should read "Should work a treat". I haven't tested it on this device but I had a similar problem getting SkyGo to work on my Nexus 10. I had to root first, edit the build.prop to think it's a different device and then unroot. Worked perfectly.

Im keen to get SkyGo working as well so I will flash back to stock and test. Will report back in half hour or so.

I would appreciate that if you would. This would be the perfect solution for me. Unfortunately, I am not hopeful after reading about this on the net despite there not being a definitive answer.

Well it kind of worked. You no longer get the doesnt work on a rooted device message however you do get the Unsupported Device message. This is because SkyGo doesnt officially support the One yet. A news report I just read suggests that Sky are increasing there supported devices next week to include the One and the S4.
I would suggest waiting until SkyGo is updated next week and then try the above method.
Nope, sky go now does officially get support for htc one. I downloaded it yesterday, it mentions this phone in the most recent updates. And I tried it out for a few seconds, streamed countdown fine.
Just to confirm I am on an Unrooted htc one.

Yes Sky Go now supports the One.
