Requirements: Android
Overview: The speaker itself isn’t of the highest quality but the Android Community wanted to squeeze as much as possible from it. A project then came along to improve the audio quality and volume and hence AudioHack was born.

Nice idea. I installed it, tried IC2 and IC3 and neither seam to show a difference. Perhaps a more detailed guide needs to be created? Aside from your color chart, the rest is kind of foreign to me.

Looked for "Audio Booster" in the Market. Nada. Does it have another name? Or should I look somewhere else?
Thanks.

any chance for some version for Nexus?
What a shame no nexus support :s
Does not work for me. I get an error message that tells me to restart the app, I do and i get the same message.
Working fine on SD Desire HD
I know this is posted in the HD2 section but when you say "NO NEXUS SUPPORT" are you referring to the Nexus One phone, or Nexus based builds?

They are saying Nexus builds are not supported and never will be. There must be something in those that is incompatible with this .
produces no effect on desire HD :-(
for those who have a phone with which it works, there is an update 4.1

RockoDev has ported beats audio to all gingerbread roms. Can anyone on gingerbread confirm if this works on our device? (MOD)(PORT)Beats Audio&Xloud(2.3+up) thanx

Should I flash this or does it have any disadvantages?

OK, flashing went well, but I'm not sure that there are some benefits
There is no on/off, so it's hard to compare from memory
I don't trust it, but maybe I'll test it after a few reviews. There could be any disadvantages. I can't imagine this will make the sound really better...

You can hear the best improvement with high quality headphones! And with original Beats Audio one ^^ (But of course also with lower cost ones )

confirmed too
I tested it now, too and the sound has really more power.
does the improvment apply only to music (speaker/headphones) or is the earpiece/headset quality also improved (call quality) ?
I don't know. The audio (music) isn't clearer only more bass. It's too much, so I remove it again.
How this works without replacing existing system files?
I recorded the sound via audio jack with and without beats audio mod to compare the differences. Audio levels and spectrogram are exactly the same...
I asked me that, too, but I don't know. Maybe it's only louder and so placebo?
It makes difference in headset when play music or video.
Yep, working great for me too
Well if not satisfied, there are other options for sound freaks - DSP Manager from CM is included in DjangoManouche 1.0, works great with (also included) Google Music. There is a free Equalizer app on Market. Even LG stock music player has some decent presets. Choices, choices...
Anyway, respect to fuss132

I'm on Temasek's Kang 69. Is there any difference whether I flash this or the original one from Fuss132?
The original port was by RockoDev. I have edited the OP and put the link to his thread. (RockoDev's zip file can be flashed on ICS too)
I am not sure whether this works or not. Supercurio has stated that it doesnt.
supercurio said:
Tested, with a precise and valid methodology I use in my work and reviews
All it does is strictly no change in audio output.
If you claiming you're improving sound quality while implicitly asking for donations (aka [Donate to me] button) I strongly suggest you to bring some elements supporting your assumptions.
I might add that by distributing random files and libs you're violating several manufacturers copyrights and intellectual property.

Audio is something special.
When you say there is an improvement, people tend to listen closer and perceive something different even if it doesn't exist.
That's called placebo.
All I'm asking is intellectual honesty in order to not abuse of this many times proven fact.
I also think placebo-mods are affecting negatively everyone's work and also the confidence XDA users have in developers.
The solution is simple: It improves audio? That can be measured then!
If you can't measure it, it means it does nothing.
Me, I measured, Galaxy S II. found it wasn't working. It's not an opinion or a critic. It's a fact.

I try install them on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7", sound better so much, but Phone and Camera is problems, it can't start.
can you help me install them on samsung galaxy tab 2 7" 4.1.1
I try install some another beats audio for samsung, but result sound is not better or sound no change.
even i buy Beat Audio Pro on google play, them is very bad, sound not better.
I see only 2 file that above is best. Sound very nice. that's real beats audio by dre.
Thanks
Bao Huy
My best guess is that they were built around the Sony platform. Anytime you flash something meant for one phone onto a completely different one, you definitely run the risk of breaking something! I will try looking at the files later and see what's up, but I'm leaning towards a comparability issue.
Just to give you more info.. the phones with built in Beats original programming have more than software. There's hardware to make it work as well. So software alone will not get you what you want. However, there are plenty of other options.
I use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923630
It's not the original Beats, but it works pretty good! It's a universal sound enhancement mod that is compatible with the Tab2. It may be just what you're after for improved sound quality.

I have LG Optimus 4X HD since 2012. It was good until I upgraded to JB 4.1.2 (official). Severe battery drain, game lags, heating etc forced me to install custom ROMs. First tried CM, better than stock but not as good as I wanted; then tried MIUI V5, much better than both stock & CM. Never tried custom kernels though. I even tried other Chinese ROMs (based on stock) to see if better. Battery, UI etc were more than satisfactory with MIUI but lags in games and sometimes hanging while opening apps were still frustrating. Then one day I saw "Performance Booster" somewhere & gave a try with free version first. It drastically changed the performance then I installed donate version which improved overall experience. As mentioned in the app it didn't improve benchmarks but improved phones performance for sure. In other words, it saved my money from buying a new phone. Now I don't need new one as I have 'Huawei Mediapad X1' for reading, games & watching videos, which I bought here in China for less than 300$ (it's 400 Euros outside China).
So what is it? I don't try to be rude, but at least you can share where we can find it or something. I know Google it's a good friend but I don't know what exactly. BTW thanks for share your experience

I think it's not allowed to post links to apps here in this forum so didn't post. You can search in play store, it's there, give a try & see yourself.

I don't think that it's forbidden to post links, as long as you don't earn money by doing so (for example adfly links). But I'm not absolutely sure.
I've also searched the app on the Play Store, couldn't find any app called "Performance Booster" though.

Im guessing hes talking about this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.performancebooster Which i would highly recommend not using.
This is from the description:
Performance Booster will change the kernel process for managing all layers such Android Runtime in Core Libraries and Dalvik VM layers, User Libraries layer, Application Framework layer, and Applications layer.

I have tested by curiosity, and my conclusion is "I haven't seen any clear effect"
So... immediately uninstalled

Got curious and decompiled the apk. Most of the stuff is license checking. Otherwise it sets a few process management properties and that's all.

Well yes, there is.
Viper4android,that's the one.
However it runs only fully (with all apps supported) on 4.2.x and 4.4.2 android on xperia devices.
Installing it normally will also work, but note with four example tunein.
If you wanna test this audio mod and want to know more about how to do this, you may contact me.

Well you can only imporve the quality by software, you can't change the hardware, and that's what those mods do
So yes, I'm now using only Viper4Android app (not from the google play) with all of the audio effects (that also include the dowloaded add-ons, which are the most important part of Viper), but on Xperia devices I've used a special audio mod, that enabled Viper4Android for all of the apps (and probably changed audio by itself).
I've written some special tutorial how to install it on Samsung (as S4 needed a bit different mod).
You can use any of the files in this thread, as it doesn't matter for Xperia's. My target is always to get Viper4Android working, as it's the best audio mod I've seen until now.
I don't know which version of Viper You've used, but You should check out 2.3.3.0, as it has soo many options (remember to switch to advanced UI).

It shouldn't damage the ROM, but to be safe, better make a nandroid backup.
