dead phone !!

hello
a friend of mine has just installed Miui 4.2 and he was pretty cool with it ...
after few days he thought of installing an updated version of cwm on the phone ..
when he did so the phone died .. !!
it doesnt turn on anyway .. no smartflash .. no Upgrade Mode
not even charging !
is there anything i can do for him ?

Check the battery before anything else, it may have been depleted completely

i charged the battery separately ... still nothing

This is not a good news. Try to plug in the battery (be sure it is charged even a little bit), then push the power on and the vol-up button in the same time. Whait some seconds. Even if nothing suceed try again to connect the phone in download mode (with and without the battery).
I think it will not resolve the broblem..but try it anyway.

[Q] P880 Bricked !

Hello ! i am new to this comunity ! please i need some help ! It's about my LG P880 ....i flashed a wrong rom to this unit and now it wont turn on. The screen is black even when i plug it in the wall soket. The only thing when i plug it into my pc it shows like a APX missing driver ant that's it. What should i do ? i only heard of the JTAG repair but i am in Romania and here something like this is unheard of and the shipping costs would be around 150$ to usa without repair. PLEASE HELP ! (

relax. 1st thing to do is take a breath. 2nd thing to do is follow some guide to do it right this time. maybe it cant boot, but it can go in adb mode or in upgrade screen and restore the original forcing the original rom in. its ur choice.

oke. since u tried install a custom rom , i suppose at ur pc u have the right drivers installed for adb mode, right ? if yes , then take this all in one toolkit from afro and it will save u . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230934
if not , tell me. next post ill show u what to do for the adb bootloader.

Try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723. This will flash the original firmware by LG.

The phone is like dead it dosent goes into SW MODE the screen wont turn on. Not even the lg logo nothing. I think it has to go on a original LG Service center (((

the link you provide is old. nobody can download drivers from there anymore, his links are dead.
maybe the nvflash utility is the same with this one here ?
and the apx drivers for 4x are those the same for 2x ?

APX device not recognized... NVFlash doesn't work on P880 (AFAIK).
And if you pay atention, the links also as uploaded drivers are from 2011, old.

Check SW
First of all try this:
1. take battery out
2. put it back
3. press and keep volume down
4. while keeping volume down plug USB cable, after 2 sec should enter to S/W upgrade
try exactly how i said and report if that works.

Nothing. The screen is black . I only hear the plug and unplug sounds in windows 7. And APX with ! yellow sign .

I sold the phone ! thank you for your support everybody !!! the only option left was to change the moatherboard but a sh phone here in Romania is 750 ron and a motherboard 500 ron so dosent worth the trouble !

we made it to install the correct drivers. i helped him in this. there was no way. his phone really was dead. maybe he is one of those 3 people in the whole world who bought it new and the update through lg pc suite killed it. oke ... ***** happen* in this world sometimes. too bad i feel sorry for a new phone.

Well i don't have a lot of experience of re-installing phones, but i don't think that phone died of software missing/failure on phone, should be extra drivers/soft to wake it up, even after formatting all device, or maybe when he tried flash rom phone hardware got burned. i feel sorry for that phone

nah its ok. you see , this time i believe he is right , it died. the reason is because this happened while using pc sync with the pc suite. the original lg software caused him this issue. i was not there to see what happened but for the original to fail so bad..... its one in a billion.....

[Q] Help : lumia 920 bricked dosnt power up

hi . i have a lumia 920 with rm-821 that i wanted flash it with atf but it pluged up in start of flashing .
power button dosnt work and even not vibrate .
i cant flash it with atf or nokia care .
can any one help me to fix it ?

Try recovery via Nokia Software Recovery Tool, you can download it free from web

i did .
but it dosnt know the phone . it say hold vol down + power untill you fell the vibrate .
but i cant fell the vibrate . it looks power dosnt work .
i used nokia care + nokia software updater + nokia recovery tool .
but all of them say same thing .

Hi there,
you tried flashing it with atf?
What do you mean with "but it pluged up in start of flashing "? Did you start flashing and during flashing, the battery died?
Is your phone charged?
You can try "flash dead phone".
If it won't work, you should be able to repair it via JTAG.

flashing started but in 0% stoped .
phone can not power on . can not flash or pc can not detecte any driver of the phone .
when i connet the phone to the pc , i hear a sound from pc that means some thing is connected to the pc but nothing will be shown .
sory for bad english . i never learned english well !

Sounds like there is no software in it. It can't charge without it.
Not being funny but it's another example of someone running before they can walk. You need to read and re read everything you can find before you mess with your phone

Of course, if your phone was not fully charged before flashing, you're messed up.
Of course it can't charge, because it cannot "load" the little piece of software for charging.
You should try it with another battery. So disassemble your phone and insert a charged (!!) battery!
If this does not work, you have to repair boot via JTAG and flash your phone with the charged (!!) battery.
Or you can write emmc directly without a battery. But that's way too complicated.

yesterday i was flashing a rom on my ace using cwm but my due to my laziness of reading the rom turned out be for ace s5830i and now it's not booting i cant access anything neither downloading or recovery mod ........... so is there any way that i can bring dis phone back 2 life or .........
i should just kiss it goodbye :angel: R.I.P ?

Sadly you have bricked your phone. But @SuperMini has provided us with a rather simple guide on how to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace. Go through the entire thread and you will get to know all the possible solutions. Here is the link,

Bro, try to follow the guide. Just pressing Vol Down+ Power+ Home button is completely different from preparing your odin, removing battery, connecting phone to computer, inserting the battery and pressing Vol Down+ Power + Home button. This method can, in the best case scenario, force open Download Mode. Give it a try! You have nothing to lose but something to gain. If this doesn't work, guide also provides details on USB Jig which is your last option. Hope I helped

tried it 2 times now no success u know my phone doesnt even lights up it stays in a switched of kind situation

@info2shail2010 had the similar problem but he was able to go to Download mode using that guide. Sadly since that didn't work for you, your only option will be USB Jig. If that doesn't work either then buy a new phone

ok bro is there any chances that a jig might do it ?.... and how does a jig works i know its made of resistors but wat does the resistors do to my phone ?

I haven't used USB Jig or even made one, so can't help you here. But you can use the following guide to make your own,

No bro... i am not able to go to in download mode... i told you... i was using Vol up + power + home key... i was mistakenly thinking it was downloading mode because it was connecting in Odin..... but u told me that is not downloading mode ... that is RamDump mode..... so .. i also cant go to download mode by pressing Vol down + power + home key.... its dead and not responding.. ....

The USB Jig method is just working for softbricked (it can boot, but looping) phones but can't go to recovery or download mode. So, it's not working for hardbricked phone

Bro, but the above guide says the USB jig for Samsung devices force the device into download mode so you can flash firmware over Odin and restore it to working order. Are you sure about what you said?

i even saw video on youtube about a hard bricked s3 ,galaxy y, s2 and note n7000 but in the s3 the guy got his phone hardbricked while rooting ..... i got it hard bricked due flashing another handsets rom

Facing this problem with my phone..have tried a lot of googling but couldnt find anything..was just able to install the drivers for qualcomm msm..phone is not going beyond this screen after starting..any help is appreciated..

Well, that's less bad than what happened to *my* T899M... Have you tried hitting the Windows button to start recovery, as the screen suggests? Alternatively, you may be able to do a boot-time hard reset (the kind done by holding some buttons - I forget which ones, but it's documented online - while turning the phone on) since you were able to get as far as the Windows bootloader.
Without knowing more about what in particular has died, I can't really help.

hitting windows button doesnt do anything. although i was able to enter into something by holding the vol up+ power..but dunno what to do after that..
hard reset doesnt work either..im not able to reach the "exclamation" screen.the phone just vibrates and goes looping the windows screen..

any suggestions please..?? seems like a paper weight in the making..

First : start explaining when this happend ?
did you update the phone with the Cortana alpha firmware ? ( the last update on preview for developers)
if you did that then you can sent your phone back because there is no rom for your phone , only repair center can help you with that.

this actually happened when my friend flashed ATIV's rom into this.. is there any way i can bring it back to life??

nope , only sent it back to Samsung or a Samsung repair center.
