[Q] I9000M Menu/Back button not responding - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recently pressed the "Touch key FW update" button. All of a sudden the menu and back button stopped responding. The lights go on when I press the home button but that is all it does.
Can anyone help with this? I've tried searching the forums for answer but couldn't find anything related to this.
Thanks.

HELP! Hardware button "Volume up/down" doesn't work anymore!

Hello around,
i wanted to change the volume of the speaker during a call and it didn't work.
What happened? In Standby it was alwyas possible to press the "Volume up/down" button located at the side of the phone and I saw the black "scroll-bar" that changed left/right. That thing doesn't appear anymore.
Anyone with the same problem? Can you help me please?
I've installed some software and made some of the known reg-tweaks, but nothing special...
Thx 4 help!

Let's start with the basics:
What software and reg tweaks? Have you tried a soft reset?

Power button problems

I can't see any similar problems on the forum, so can anyone help?
Yesterday my Kaiser's power button stopped working. In the middle of the day, not doing anything with it, installing anything or changing any settings. I took it out of my pocket and the screen was on with the power off dialog box showing (I normally keep it on standby in my pocket) The power button wouldn't put it into standby, and holding it wouldn't power it down. Intermittently the power off dialog appears on screen, if I click yes the device restarts (doesn't stay off). Everything else seems to work normally still. Soft resetting works normally. All the other buttons seem to work ok. I've tried a hard reset, but that made no difference.
Anyone else have anything like this?

I'm having the exact same problem right now. The power button definitely seems to be stuck. Can't figure out how to unstick it
About a week ago I had a similar problem.
The power button and the photo button stopped working. I couldn't turn the the device off or set it to standby.
Had to soft reset and after that it was ok again.

Problem with hang up button or software?

I will try to explain the problem as simple as possible even if it's not.
The problem is as following: after closing "opera" and I disconnect from WIFI after awhile being used pressing immediately the "hang up buttom" to enter into the rapid menu or the specific function that I selected, it does not do what it's suppose to but the touch flow iscons scroll towards the right. The only solution to abilitate once again the original fucntion is to do a soft reset.
Can you help me?
thanks
I have been experiencing something similar. Sometimes a press on the end call button seems to be registered by the phone as a "move right" command. I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help? After I go back "home" everything seems ok.
Maybe that touch pad at the bottom is not as good as it should be?
ok but why after soft reset the button turn ok?
please help me

Hi,
Are you using Stock or custom rom?
Try to do a factory reset or flash an other rom and your problem will be solved.
