Hi to all,
I'm using LQB firmware with root (thank you again shaan ).
Sam browser it's not bad but i don't like it, so i'm trying to install the aosp/stock browser without success.
I've tried to delete secbrowser.apk and secbrowser.odex and push browser.apk to system/app fixing permissions.
I've reboot my advance, but the launcher (stock touchwiz) don't show the browser
I've found this but for me it's not working:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003650&page=2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780746&highlight=browser+apk
I think the problem may be that stock samsung rom is not deodexed, and without the .odex file the stock browser can't work or be seen: it's possible
Thank you
Have you tried clearing the data of the browser app in the settings app?

Will result in touchwiz being extinguished from your tab. Won't be running at the back after you delete it.

Just remember to have another launcher installed prior to doing that .

Anyone tried that without any problems? I have a gt with overcome 1.2.1 rom and kernel!
Which is the filename of the touchwiz i can delete?
I have adw already installed abd working.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
If you set another launcher as default and then reboot, it shouldn't run the default launcher anyway.
And the name of the Touchwiz launcher is "TouchWiz30Launcher.apk".
Don't delete it, move it to /sdcard/ so you've got a backup.
You can also just freeze the appa instead of deleting/moving it. Use Titanium Backup or similar to freeze it and then it wont run.
Alternative if you want to remove you can also use SystemApp remover if you cant locate the correct apk.
maybe you can crash something. in P1000L (Brazil) tab, TV app doesn't work without touchwiz...
the phone app will not work without the touchwiz launcher
How to simpy freeze it?cant find its filename in titanium backup!
Uhm,are you sure that touchwize wont load on boot but just adw?

Do we need this file?? or just copy paste in system/app??I've XXKB3..not deodexed will it work??
And yes what is deodexing? how to do it?
Well deodexing would be a better option.

Hi guys,
I'm back on ICS cause of battery drain and lucky again. Only thing I am missing is the improved LG stock Browser of JB cause the ICS LG stock browser is stuttering / lagging. Can you pls. provide me the apk of the JB LG stock Browser so that I can exchange old vs. new Version, that would be really great.
Thx and best regards
Stephan

Firtst of all thanks for your work but damn, Parsing error. Either the file was corrupted during up-/download or the JB stock browser is not possible to install on ICS.
Do you mind to upload it again just to be sure no file corruption occured during the last attempt (I downloaded already three times but no difference).
What's the ODEX file for?
Regards
Stephan
Here I copy the Files now with ES Data Explorer.
The Odex will need to work normal.
I think you have not change the permission.
Make a Backup of the Old Data (apk+odex)
Remove the Old
Copy the new files
Set the permission (look at the other Apps there permission and set the same)
Install
Wipe in Stock Recovery or other Recovery Cache.

I just hate the default GB & CM7 gallery app as they take a lot of time to show up my pictures ( there are about 600 pictures on my sd ). That's why I decided to replace the default GB gallery app by quickpic. I renamed it to gallery3D, moved it to \system\app by replacing the original gallery & set permissions & rebooted. But quickpic on opening suddenly closes all by itself. Tried a fix permissions via recovery with no success. My question is, how do I get quickpic working ( as a system app & as an alternative to the original gallery ) ? What's causing it to close all by itself ? Is there any odex file of the gallery that causes this ?

Some apps like camera and quickpic use lib files to function. The lib files have a set of instructions that are common to the corresponding app. So having a lib file makes it easy so you dont have to re write them again and again.

Sure! I think is the best gallery app
Why does it have to be a system app? Just install Quickpic and use TB to uninstall default gallery. That's it. Even if you don't uninstall default gallery, the OS will ask you which app to use by default.

Samsung gallery app problem. How to make Quick Pic app as the default instead
Dear All, Samsung users.
I have been having serious problems with Samsung S4 gallery App. The App just does not work anymore, as it keeps on freezing etc. I have resetted my phone several times and did it hard reset and the same problem occurs.
After several hours of research, I was told to use Quckpic app, which as a standalone is brilliant, but can anyone please give me a step-by step guide to make QuickPic as the default app to work with my S4 camera app, and also how do you delete the standard gallery App from the S4.
Kind regards
J
