hi is anyone on EE (UK) with the XZ, Can you please tell me if you can unlock your bootloader?
The same way everyone else did. It's not carrier specific.

The answer is maybe. DHTECH may not be able to but both my Orange/EE Z have their bootloaders unlocked.
FYI dial *#*#7378423#*#* then Service Info>Configuration and it will tell you the status of the bootloader.
Yes you can unlock it. I have EE UK and it is possible

Hi guys,
I have a question about bootloader unlocking. I know it doesn't unlock the carrier, so I've contacted Three UK and they're obtaining a code for my Xperia X8 that I bought on PAYG which will be £15.34 and can take up to 2 weeks.
My question is that if I go ahead and unlock the bootloader so that I can put newer kernels in (and therefore newer ROMs), will it remove the unlock code they gave me in any form, or will my phone always stay unlocked?
Also, if it goes back to locked, can I use that same code from Three and just unlock it again?
Thanks guys.
Also, I assume if anything goes wrong I can use the Pc Companion to practically wipe back to manufacturers kernel/rom/BL/settings?
You guys can't keep posting the Same question.
Anyway, your phone will get locked original network

I believe if you use code to unlock SIM you' ll have phone same as one that was never locked. And none of your actions should lock it again.
It would be nice if somebody experienced confirm this, though.

I didn't intend to ask the same question again. I did use the search so I apologise if it's already been asked but I'd love a definitive answer.
My guess is that either way, my IMEI will stay the same of course so in theory the same code could be used numerous times on the phone regardless. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I think I understand from your post that after unlocking BL it'll revert to original carrier lock? Same code or?

Hi,
I'm from Chile and I've been in France for the last year and I bought a Note here with Orange (carrier).
I'm leaving again to my country and obviusly I would like to keep using my Note and using any carrier.
Looking around i got a little confused and I have some questions.
- Is unloking the simcard (i found some apps to do that) the same to unlocking the phone to use any carrier sim card?
- If not, what does unlock the simcard means? and there is a way (app or method) to do the second?
- If yes, a good app to do it? is GalaxySim Unlock a good one?

As said by the previous post, any phone can be unlocked in any country. Go to any local shop and they should be able to help, be sure to use a trusted and well-known shop as some may end up messing up your phone.

Try this or this if you want, but don't blame me if you f*ck up your phone or sim card.
Hey guys. I'm trying to unlock my booaloader of my Xperia Z C6603.
When I go to the service menu and check it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No".
The point is, that I haven't bought my phone from a carrier, it's unlocked from factory and I don't know why I can't unlocked it
If it says "No", then it's permanently locked.
Did you purchase it brand new, directly from a store or used from a third party?

Then it's possible that the seller flashed generic software on a carrier supplied phone that they network unlocked before selling it to you.
You should contact Sony support and they should be able to confirm this if you supply your IMEI number.

Sorry to hear that.
Did the seller advertise it as an unbranded phone? Perhaps you can contact eBay to see if something can be done, even if it's some time after purchase. It's worth a try.

You cannot unlock a BL locked phone using flashtool.
If you want a different rom there are plenty of stock based custom roms just use the search function

It 100% won't work. You may soft brick the device, but most probably it will just fail with no adverse effect.
