i keep hearing that CM7 7.0.3 has been released but theirs no download when i go to the link to the nightlies. how come? source: http://pocketnow.com/android/cyanogenmod-703-stable-released
CM 7.0.3 is Android 2.3.3. The latest nightly is n63 which is Android 2.3.4. I'm not sure why a 7.0.3 Stable wasn't released for the Nook, but the latest nightly is based on a more advanced version of Android so you're probably not missing anything.
Hrmmm this is good to know

I'm pretty sure live wallpapers are not enabled in n63. This is an issue that others mentioned on the CM7 General Discussion thread in the Nook Development Forums. I think someone figured out how to add them back in manually. Check the aforementioned CM7 thread if you want to take a crack at it.
What's wrong with life wallpaper? It works fine in 7.0.2 stable.
As a side note, 7.0.3 is built on Android 2.3.3. The latest nightlies have been using Android 2.3.4, but might have the security hole in them as well. For the time being, if you're running a CM7 Nightly, rolling back to 7.0.3 Stable is advised.
UPDATE: 7.0.3 seems to have some problems with adding Google Accounts and trying to do almost anything in the Market, but ONLY if you're coming from an Android 2.3.4 Nightly.
According to Cyanogen: "The 7.0.3 update is *ONLY* for people using 7.0.2* stable builds. You'll hose your system if you install it on a nightly from the last week."

Yup. I gave it a test drive to see how the nc took to them and immediately went back to plain bgs. I can respect people who like them, I just see it as a battery drain and they tend to be a bit laggy on some "pretty" ones.

There is something specifically done for releases that includes LWP. Why it's not done on every nightly I'm not sure.
Well i just took a visit to cyanogen's site and it looks like this is what they have to say about the 7.0.3 update:
"CyanogenMod 7.0.3 is now available for download. This update contains a bug fix for our update notification system, as well as an important security fix. It is recommended that all users running a version of CyanogenMod prior to 7.0.3 update to this release."
As it says it fixes an important security bug is it not safe to continue running 7.0.2?
The latest nightly (n64) has been posted on cyanogen's site.
Im currently running 7.0.2 and want to update to 7.0.3 but since there is no release of the latest stable update for the nook i'm wondering if i should flash the latest nightly?

Thats because there is no 7.0.3 release for the Nook as of now. The latest build is the nightly n64.
Looks like all other supported devices got the 7.0.3 update. I wonder if the security fix is only applicable to phones.

Nook not booting after 7.0.3 upgrade
Today May 9th at 1:00PM CT, I received a notification of the 7.0.3 update on the nook, I proceeded as usual but when the nook tried to reboot it got stuck on the blue "A N D R O I D _" screen. I'ts been there for more than 10 minutes now.
Any ideas on what to do next.
I checked the backup option before proceeding to the upgrade. Unfortunately I don't have here another SD to boot Clockworkrecovery and try to restore.
Thanks

I read that the first .3 was bad, and now there is a Signed .3 version up, is that the one you tried? If so, suggest you go back to nightly as there is a #67 now. I'm not sure why the dev's split off the two builds, 2.3.3 vs 2.3.4 but it was confusing for many, myself included. I'm wondering if the new .3 Signed is 2.3.3 or 2.3.4, how can you tell before installing???
I don't know if I used the signed or not, it was the one that ROM Manager prompted to install.
When I get home I will try to flash the backup made during the process. hope that take me back to where I was.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the great rom. I really appreciate it.
After flahing my second version (August 1)including full wipe I somehow managed to destroy cwm. I can still boot the OS as well as download mode but instead of CWM there is just a black screen. I also tried to flash a New CWM with rommanager and twrp with goomanager. It didn'change anything.
What can I do to get a working recovery if possible without full wipe again (too much work)? This way I'm unable to flash anything.

No need to open a thread for a already known problem that is discussed in the 10.2 thread in General.
If you install a very early experimental build you could at least read in the related thread. Or consider installing a Stock Rom.
And as other members you have to install a new Rom with PC Odin to eliminate the problem. I made this already two times - and now use an older 10.2-kernel as workaround.
But please use the thread in General for further postings related to CM10.2, ok?
I'm sorry I was coming from CM 10, CM 10.1 and for a year or so I was no longer forced to care about such problems for quite a while. So I couldn't find the thread you linked. Xplowild closed his thread and I was a bit lost with so many threads.
Thanks for your help!

Quick help for a newbe: where to find New Bootloader
Hi there,
I am a newbe that wants to load a custom rom on my LG P990.
I've read a lot about it already and on this forum etc.
I hope you are willing to provide me a few sentences explanation:
* I want to load CM11, I need the New Bootloader for that. Where can I find the New Bootloader?
* I also found out that there is an All In One Toolkit. Does this toolkit include the New Bootloader? Can I use this All In One Toolkit for flashing CM11 to LG P990?
* It does not become clear to me if I only need to download the ROM or also the kernel? Or does the ROM already include the correct kernel? (e.g. following this latest build/update on this XDA forum: post by gucky01 on 25 Oct. 08:41)
* Finally you can maybe provide me a few words on the difference between 3.1 and M1? Why have two sources of ROMs been developed, why not just continue with 1?
Thanks a lot!
In aio u can change bootloaders
Flash with recovery the twrp 2.7.10.zip search it in development. After boot to your twrp recovery make wipe
And install the rom
The kernel is inside the cm11 rom
OK, I was able to flash to CM11.
Just one question: I searched hell out of google, but I cannot find nowhere TWRP 2.7.10 (or twrp 2.7.10.zip), and not at all for LG P990.
Latest version for LG P990 is TWRP 2.6.00 according to official TWRP site and according AIO-tool.

Bad Battery - Battery life (Advice)
If some of you have noticed sudden "reboot" let's say, I have got an advice for you!
Some months ago, my phone suddenly turned off even if the battery level was up to 80 percent. I was pretty shocked and I did not know what that means. Then my phone tried to reboot but it stucked in bootloop and I could not turn on the phone. Is it caused by rom? I thought. So I removed the battery and inserted back again. I plugged in the charger and then I was able to boot my phone again. It happened very often and I was crying a lot.
It was very annoying so I decided to buy a new battery. I replaced the old one by the new one and now everything works perfectly.
And of course it will take some time to get the new battery working well (I recommend full charging cycles (from 20 percent to 100 percent)).
Do not discharge your battery to 0 percent. It does not like any of the Li-ion batteries.
touch my phone does not work
please help me !
can you teach me how to build tonyp's source code ,thks!

Battery Charge Issue
First of all thank you tonyp and all others who worked to get Kit-Kat for our old phones and make it new again
However I have below questions - would be really grateful if someone would help me with them. I am on M1 Jul 21:41:16 CEST2014-20140716
1) I am unable to upgrade my M1 with CWM and TWRP with all versions and all possible wipe methods, was trying to update (gucky01) weekly updates but always ended up in an error, tried dirty, clean dalvik, clean partation..aah everything, but no go
2) This is most important one, since I have upgraded to above mentioned ROM from stock ICS, its taking ages to get a complete charge. Really need some help here since I was able to get a full charge in like 80mins I guess with stock, however with this one it usually take about 5 hours! for 1500mAh battery?? Really?? C'mon!!
Let me know if there are any workarounds for above posted questions.
Thank you again to all developers, god bless you all
link for the updates
can someone please give me the link to download the new updates
Hey guys, i'd like to ask:
Running 13. October build w/optimizations and latest 3.1 KK.
When I manage to get oom (4 tabs in browser or so), phone becomes unresponsive (as expected), but then the notification bar gets really laggy. Interesting is that when it's extracted to fullscreen, the animations are really slow (5 fps or so) , but when the less i see from navbar, the faster it is. (When i swipe down the bar for just a little bit, it doesn't even lag). Do you know what can cause this problem? I thought it might be rendering problems after systemui.apk got forceclosed while oom.

Unknown issue with Google Play services
Update: I found a solution. Please see post #20 below.
Hi, I've installed the latest tonyp test build 20150130. I did a full wipe but often get "Unknown issue with Google Play services." Any ideas why?
I have installed some of the latest Google apps such as Maps, Play Music, and Hangouts.
Google Play services is currently version 6.5.99 on my phone. I've tried clearing the cache and can't see how to reinstall it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Everything is great except for the camera. I have a problem when recording video . picture freezes . I do not have that problem with ICS . I use the kernel M1 .
Anyone have problem with mobile data?I use last tonyp rom and its fantastic, but same problem i have like on previous roms, mobile data crashed all the time...
Video recording and mobile data work fine here.

Hey all, I solved this by updating Google Play services to version 6.6.03. You can find and download it on MihirGosai's [APPs] [SHARE] Google Play Services 6.7.74 and Google Play Games 2.2.09 thread.
Not sure if it made a difference but I also switched from CWM to TWRP 2.8.1.0 found on DJNoXD's [RECOVERY] [newbl] TWRP 2.8.1.0 touch recovery [2014-11-30] thread.
Things seem a lot more stable after these two changes.
Thanks for the awesome ROMs tonyp!!

Few CM 11 questions
Hello, I've used my Galaxy Mini for more than 4 years, but I hadn't known, that it could run also another OS than the default one pre-installed by Samsung. But suddenly, I've found CM and this forum about it. I've made some research, but because I'm beginner with CM, I have few questions:
1. In the description on the thread for the CM 11 for Galaxy Mini there is written, that the development is currently in the testing/alpha2 state. There is also a wishlist of missing features. But the there is also written, that the last update was in January, 2014. If I compare it to Androidarmv6 download archive and its GitHub repository, is seems there already are newer versions out. My first question is, if the most recent version of CM 11 for Galaxy Mini is more stable than that 1 year old alpha2 release? Which missing features from that wishlist have been already resolved?
2. And if the CM 11 version is not stable enough for everyday use, which older (but still based on Android 4.x) and more stable CM version would you recommend me to use instead (if any - otherwise I'll install official CM 7.2)?
3. I noticed, that there is already the official alpha release of CM 12 (based on Android 5.x) and also ported as a new branch on GitHub. I also know, that Android 5.x is really hardware-demanding. Will it be still possible to run CM 12 on Galaxy Mini phone? And what about CM 11 or 10? Could you recommend me the most stable and the newest one (see 2nd question), but still working on so low-performance device as Galaxy Mini in default is (384 MB RAM, 600 MHz, ...)? And if not, could you recommend me some web article describing how to make the performance of my phone better in order to run that recommended CM version from my previous two questions (if it is possible somehow)?
4. And finally, I want to ask, if I need to root my device before installation of that recommended CM version. Because in the installation manual from the original Samsung firmware to the official CM 7.2 there is no need to root Galaxy Mini during process and in the installation manual from CM 7.2 to CM 11 too. But in the installation manual from the original Samsung firmware directly to the CM 11 there is rooted phone needed. I don't understand, why I don't need rooted phone for indirect installation, but for direct installation I do. Could you clarify me the installation process?
I hope somebody experienced helps the beginner there (but good programmer and advanced Linux user) with the installation of CM by answering these a little bit complicated questions

Are you sure your device is galaxy mini/pop s5570? There is no "i" at end? If both yes, then go ahead and read my answers.
Answers:
1. The op(member of androidarmv6 group) isn't active. Thats why the thread says alpha. But you can download and install latest tass(galaxy mini) version from androidarmv6 jenkins. And about feature list, everything is fixed from that list, but camera is colorless(black and white type pics). You need tls enabled recovery to flash latest cm11.
2. Cm11 is stable enough for daily usage. But cm11 is resource hungry. I would recommend you to try cm11 and make your own decision about it. Every android version <= 4.2.2 are fully stable and everything works. I use aokp 4.1.2 myself. 4.2.2 is a bit heavy but if you don't use too many apps, you could use it without any problems. Cm9, ics aosp, cm10,slimbean,aokp jb4.1.2 roms are most efficient 4.x roms and less resource hungry. For better results and good performance, you may need to install greenify. See my threads for 4.x roms.
3. Cm12 isn't booting yet. You can follow review.androidarmv6.org for latest changes and progress. Better use aokp 4.1.2 or slimbean or cm10 with greenify and int2ext(to expand internal memory, you need to create 512mb ext4 partition on sdcard).
4. It is not that hard to flash a simple zip. There is a thread here in galaxy mini section which describes how to root galaxy mini. Follow that tutorial. Then flash cwm 5.0.2.8 recovery(search in and download from galaxy mini section) it from stock rom recovery.
Then you are ready to install any galaxy mini roms.
Caution: Don't flash any zips outside galaxy mini section. Our device board name is "tass". So, you'll see tass in filenames and they are for galaxy mini/pop s5570. If you flash wrong zips, you'll end up with bricked phones(a paper weight). So, be careful. Have a happy flashing.

And finally one more question:
I've seen more threads about Galaxy Mini roms in this xda section. And in almost all of them is written, that everything works, just there are problems using camera. It looks like this is a global problem. Is this problem only in CM 11 at the moment and group members only aren't active to cross the camera out from the "Don't work" list on threads for roms, which were resolved? Or is it still global problem? In which roms camera fully work without any caveat? Search androidarmv6 jenkins in google.
Camera in cm11 actually works but it uses source built libcamera, not the original samsung libcamera. And it gives a very colorless pics. No, androidarmv6 people are very nice. Just they are busy. And we don't have a skillful developer left.
And yes, every version <= 4.2.2 has got everything working as it should. But the video recording isn't good sometimes(only sometimes, it is not good anyways).
I would recommend you to try my aokp 4.1.2. Partition your sd card, install cronmod int2ext to expand ur internal memory (int2ext only not int2ext+). And install xposed installer + greenify, greenify not so important and ram consuming apps. That's my setup actually.

Camera in cm11 actually works but it uses source built libcamera, not the original samsung libcamera. And it gives a very colorless pics. No, androidarmv6 people are very nice. Just they are busy. And we don't have a skillful developer left.

I haven't time before, so today I managed to install a new ROM to my Mini six months after I wrote here. First of all I spent hours of googling and searching, where to download working package to root my phone and where to download cwm 5.0.2.8 for Mini, because all of the packages for rooting haven't been working at all and all of the download links to cwm 5.0.2.8 I've found were dead, except the links and except the packages here. Googling and searching finally helped, so I had my first cwm on my Mini. Then I've checked first three ROMs from the Mini's section. Concretely CM 10, SB 3.1.0 and AOKP JB 4.1.2.
First of all I've tried Slimbean. I was really confused, when I found out, that there is no keyboard inside the installation! What the h*** (sorry, but I really said that when at that moment)? One of my reasons to leave original Gingerbread was that really bad keyboard, which I need to reinstall by some from Google Play every time I had to reset my phone into factory settings (another reason to upgrade btw). And after upgrade again? But Slimbean looked really well, just a few strings weren't translated to my language, so I decided to try AOKP. AOKP hadn't just keyboard, but also gapps, so I needed to google, where to download it from. I've found this and hoped it can't break my newly installed ROM. And there were more strings untranslated to my language, so I decided to try the third one, CM. It was fully translated, but also there weren't gapps and keyboard. And the patch (if it was a patch) - tether patches.zip - couldn't be applied (some error was thrown during its installation).
Finally, I've found gapps for it too. The winner of these three was Slimbean, the loser was AOKP, but I'm going to test more ROMs, until I find some good one. In order to avoid searching the Mini's section another hours: Is there any ROM with preinstalled keyboard (and possibly gapps too)?

I've removed keyboard and gapps intensionally. I use this keyboard. If you really want jb keyboard i'll provide you later(is not better than gb keyboard though). Yourzgapps are best. Google search yourzgapps.

I used this one. Its dev developed JB keyboard too, but it wasn't compatible with GB anymore. Is there any package for this or JB one or I need to install them from Google Play?
I found out that AOKP just needed to restart to be fully translated, so it is a little bit ok than CM (but SB still wins).
I'd like to try some 4.0 ROMs and some 4.2 ROMs (just to try, like yesterday). I saw here some threads about english only ROMs. I'll try them and maybe find my favourite. Is there any chance to build my language version after that? I know there is big red notification This is english only! (You have been warned...!). I don't want to waste your time for so minor things. Feel free to reject my potential request at the beginning.

You can add your language translations to apks inside the rom. ics,jb keyboards won't work on gb. There is a cm10.1 version from androidarmv6 team, try it. It has all languages. To build only your language, then you need to sync sources and modify build files to get your language.

Thank you, I'll search the CM 10.1 from androidarmv6 team and try it. The keyboard looks like ICS, but worked fine in factory firmware GB. I think it could work in this CM 10.1 too. If I install it from Google Play to the CM 10.1 ROM, it will work, or not? But I don't know, how to change the apk into the zip, that can be installed from cwm.
Thank you for your all help. Six months ago I thought it will be so complicated, but it is easy if one follows the rules not to make a bricked phone.
Edit: I tried this and it is totally awesome. The best I've tried. I'll test it for a longer period. My favourite keyboard is inside, first time in my Mini's life I don't have to reinstall that bad original GB keyboard. I just hope it won't be so battery and RAM consuming (I'll test it). I ask here if I have some question or problem in the future. Last time huge thanks (in words and in thank buttons too)

I tried it, the performance is better, but there is a huge problem. I install it in this way:
boot into cwm 5.0.2.8 >
wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, battery stats >
flash cm10.1 you suggested >
flash yourzgapps >
flash int2ext >
fotmat sd-ext >
reboot
After reboot cm10.1 boots and at the beginning works like a charm. Int2ext works as expected, 1/5 from memory used. But after 2-3 minutes int2ext stops working and I have full memory. Reboot or int2ext reinstallation don't work. Why? How could I fix it?

Don't format sd-ext after flashing int2ext. One factory reset is enough.
Try this way:
1. Goto recovery and make factory reset/wipe.
2. Flash rom and reboot system(let it boot first).
3. Again goto recovery, mount all partitions and flash int2ext.
4. You can also flash gapps now. Reboot system now, and start your setup.

I had formatted sd-ext, because it is written in int2ext installation steps. Finally I tried your suggestion and everything works. I just flashed gapps right after flashing OS, because I want Google's first boot guide. I'm so happy everything works like a charm on that older, but good Mini. I'm also happy I got rid of that buggy GB. Once more thanks.

I got the first snapshot a while back and like it. Did the upgrade to the latest snapshot 2 earlier today.
Is there a place to see the changes between snapshots on targa or in general? Thanks

CDMA EVDO Rev.B
How to disable 1xRTT ? I want EVDO only
I will say that this Droid Bionic I bought from a friend for 20 to use as a music player and cam has been thd the most challenging root and customization I've ever done. I began by try
Ing to do the entire root and CM 12 without a pc. I almost made it to, but it soft bricked right At the end. (flash failure) Took me a week and many hrs of research. to get it all fixed and put CM 13 on it. It wassooo slow, Iwent back to a stock roofed, debloated rom that's impressively fast for a dual core (I don't have cel service, but could with it.
I I still get the flash failure fastboot screen every time I boot it. Have touse a key comboto boot, then it goes fine I wouod almost keep it for music, but I cant get t to respond to earbud buttons. That means this formerly awesome phone will probably get tossed in 'challenge complete no longer interested "box in the basement with the rest.

Are you actually running CM13 on one of these? As indicated previously, I found it so intolerably slow I went back to my stock modded. I could switch back to test this if you're still interested.
In the last few weeks, I've come to like this relic. I'm still using it. (oh, the fact that I lost my tab a and am post Xmas broke might have a bit to do w it

I am attempting the same with my XT907. I cant get any of the custom ROMs to flash. I have bricked this phone multiple times and now waiting for the battery to charge agasin to attemot to flash the stock ROM back which is 4.1.2 I think. If you find a CM 13 that will work lwt mw know. I am using RSD Lite to flash with also.
