Hey guys, i know it is nothing special, but i thought I would post this to provide ease for users to restore.
Below you will find a download link for the stock rom, and just below here the instruction in order to restore, so here we go...
To restore follow these following commands:
First download and install the zip from this thread, this will bring you back to stock, however, if you want to flash over your recovery and kernel follow the two steps below.
Do this AFTER you have flashed to zip, if you do it before you cannot flash any zips at all! Follow these command carefully to flash back to stock recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once you have completed, the above step follow this following command to finish going back to stock:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now your phone should be completely stock.
Download link: HERE
Please Note: This is the Stock Rom which Einstein.frat removed, my friend mblex provided me with the file, so credits to him for that.

Very useful! This would make me fearless in trying out other kernels! Har har har! :victory:
You can't really brick your phone flashing kernels, you always have fastboot to fall back on.
To hard brick your phone, you would mess up the hboot, which is bad news because think of that as your phones BIOS, without that function you are basically screwed.
But your safe flashing kernels, the worst what can happen is that it won't boot lol.

Hi
I am helping on behalf of my friend with his phone. He told me he had rooted and even flashed a custom rom which I assume when he told me he doesn't have touchwiz.
Now the problem is that when he hangs up a call the screen just goes completely black and needs to talk the battery out. Sometimes even he has problems booting up into android and gets some random script.
Now I would like to know if I could solve the problem if I flashed a custom rom via clock work mod? What other tools would I need?
Thanks

Try doing a factory reset!
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda premium
I forgot to tell you in the original post that this was all triggered after doing a factory reset. Any ideas?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Yh just flash a compatible rom via recovery or Rom manager. Just make sure you read the thread first to see if there are any problems/bugs and what is required before hand. Best to do a complete wipe before flashing though.
Before flashing try to do another factory reset and see if that solves the problem. Along with that delete the cache and dalvik from recovery (3 button combo) and fix permissions. If after all that the same happens then flash the rom. If your not sure of what you are doing then find out before you do start. Just in case something else goes wrong.
I talked to my friend and he told me the phone isn't rooted. He's using android 2.3.2. Is there a guide to rooting for this device?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
There are loads of guides for rooting, look in general section most of them are pinned.
I suggest he reflashes the same rom that way there are minimal chances of any bugs but if he wants a custom rom then make sure you look for one that is very stable. Unless he wishes to learn how to flash and everything that comes with it. I warn it will become addictive.
For the stock roms go here and make an account. Then click on firmware. And follow the clicks... You can also find guides on there of how to do it. Basically how to navigate on the site, how to flash the roms on the site etc all on that site.
If you still want root and only root then search for cf root in android development. Chainfire has an extensive list of rooted kernals, the first post should explain everything, you may ave to read it twice
Edit: Link
Edit: I just understood what you meant by that PM... I suggest you/ your friend sticks to stock and use the first link. However if you really want a custom rom, start with this[ (link arrived...) It is a Darky Rom from their website. Really all you will need is the DarkyROM 10.2 RE Odin ROM and you will be rooted. From there you can flash anything. However the link i provided is to their latest rom i believe and is meant to be fairly stable.
May i remind you that once you flash you will have lost warranty and support from Samung etc. Until you flash stock firmware back on. Also when flashing be careful and know what you are doing, it is all at your own risk

Can you give me the name of the firmware you DL from samfirmware, and if possible the link..
BUT really all you need is a .pit file and asingle .tar file. There may be 3 .tar files (code, modem and csc). The instructions should give you the information of where to put each or the files should be clearly named..
Apparently there was only one tar file. I already flashed the stock rom yesterday and flashed cf root. I also instructed my friend how to flash custom roms. It is all good now. Thank you!

Wiped cache

I waited really long to see what would happen but no success
All I see it error
I kept trying and trying but no luck
I did everything from wiping data and cache
I reinstalled the ROM
And I flashed and ICS kernel I had lying around on my sdcard but yet no success.

Use 4EXT or ClockworkMod v5.0.2.0. V6 is only a port and therefore, there can be some bugs. I know that 4EXT and CWM 5.0.2.0 work. 4EXT is kind of like a modified CWM with extra features here and there. Its also officially supported.
I believe it is kernel related..

Kangaroo Kernel's WiFi works. That is a fact. If it doesn't work, then it might be recovery related where the recovery might not be flashing some modules correctly and whatnot. I used to have the same problem except with dla5244's port of TWRP. That is why I suggested OP use Official ClockworkMod or 4EXT.
Thank you guys so much

No download ROM manager or 4EXT Recovery Updater (the latter may require a bit more searching).
As i've never really used ROM manager (nor would i ever recommend CWM over 4EXT), I can't really help you there.
For 4EXT Recovery Updater, you will need to wait a bit for downloads and stuff (roughly 5 minutes). After click install/update. Choose touch or normal (i use touch). Select version. It will download and then after downloads finish, it will flash the recovery for you.

Umh, download the stock rom from mike's thread.
Now, do a nandroid backup from recovery and after flash the rom.

However, you've tried to erase the cache from fastboot with the command: fastboot erase cache

Defo kernel issue.
- Get odexed from here
http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.no/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html?m=1
Or whatever you desire
- Put the downloaded Rom on to your SD.
- Enter cwm/twrp recovery and do a nand (=backup of current ROM)
- install zip of new stock Rom.
Reboot when done.
Either this or just flash bulletproof kernel from flar. see if it gets sorted.

Well I installed TWRP, did a backup, with the default selection, after that I booted, and copied the files.,
Then I copied the odexed file to the device, booted into recovery, and installed it.
Now Wifi Works , and everything is on the "latest" release and still stock.
My question is:
What ROM-s can I try out? Only Odexed? Or Google Editions as well (from the link you provided) and if yes...
I just make a backup from the current setup, and copy it, and then recovery from the backup am I right?
But mainly my problem has been solved... So thank you very much !
Odexed or deodexed, whatever rocks your socks.. if you are gonna do some themeing of icons you need deodexed.
You are S-off and are free to flash loads of stuff.
Google edition? Sure test it out if you want to.
Sure, just back up current Rom and keep it safe on your phone if you can. Any problems occurs you can just restore it.

Use the guide from here by nirogu325 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
It has all that you need. And when in recovery, it's not necessarily 'apply update from SD card'. Just choose the zip file that you have to flash to gain root. I suggest that you use TWRP recovery on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602188

The original gingerbread recovery had an option to flash zips. The ICS recovery did not. Rooting was way easier on GB because of this. The only way to root ICS is to install a custom recovery to flash a root.zip file.

CyanogenMod instaled and unusable, I have installed GoogleApps separately but they do not show up anywhere. The browser does not work so I cannot try to access gooleplay. The PC does not recognise the tablet any more and I cannot transfer files. Well done me!
I suppose I could go back installing a stock ROM with Odiin, the problem is that the only post I have found with stock ROMs has links to Hotfiles.com which is no longer in service. Can anyone direct me to any other link where I could download a stock ROM for P7310?
Thank you.

Done! Not without drama... At first the system would not reboot, had to flash custom recovery, wipe everything and flash the ROM again and then it restarted. Not sure I am going to mess up with my tab again! Stuck to ICS forever it seems...

Well yeah I didn't mention that you should do a full wipe first because I thought you already knew that
anyway, hopefully messing up with your tab won't be necessary, cuz stock ICS is the best, personally I use this tweaked one:
[ROM][ICS][STOCK][P7300/P7310][LQJ/LPV][Deodexed/Odexed] Final Build [14/1/14]
It is the best!!!:victory:
Cheers, what are the differences with the tweaked ROM you have?

Agree, I've tried the 10.1.3 and 10.2 CM versions before. But IMHO, overall performance is not on par with stock ICS.

It's a matter of preference, actually. In my case, I used the original firmware on the thread and tweaked it to my liking.
