My Samsung portable media HD with USB OTG doesn't appear to work on my One, when I plug it in it gives a message in the status bar saying unable to charge please use correct charger or something to that effect, it works fine with my Nexus 7,worked sometimes with my S3 but not all the time.
Haven't got round to unlocking bootloader yet or rooting yet, would this be a reason why it's not working?

The phone might not be capable of running it, try plugging the HD in a USB hub then connect the OTG cable to the USB hub. Some portable HD's work through OTG others don't.

probably the phone has no enough juice to power up the hardisk. you might need a usb hub for that hdd

It works fine on a PC, my Nexus 7 and occasionally worked on my Galaxy S3, I'd be surprised if the HTC One didn't allow this to work, anyone else tried?

A PC and nexus 7 have more output. Is the HDD formatted using FAT32? If not format using that, if it is try creating a partition.

USB OTG Not Working
Tried using 8GB and 16GB SanDisk USBs, but I'm getting the errors:
Blank USB Storage - USB storage blank or has unsupported filesystem.
Unable to charge device - Please use the supported charger.
Would anyone know any fix for these issues? Do I need to setup/configure anything else on my phone or USB?? Thanks.
i have standard otg cables and my one doesnt work with jump drives. from what i have read around the forums that the one may need a Y otg cable. because what im seeing is the one doesnt put enough power out the usb port to power much. so the y otg kinda works like the mhl hdmi connector. hope this helps

Got it to work by reformatting my USBs to FAT32, they were formatted to NTFS before. Also, I'm using the generic android OTG cable and it works well.
Usb otg prblm
On my micromax a89,usb otg is not working.
but it is charging the phone when connected to pc through the malt-malr usb connector.
How can i get this to work?
Since I can't post in the CM-10.2 thread (I'm a lurker, not a poster) I have to ask here and hope someone can answer...
Is there any update on USB OTG support in CM 10.2?

Maybe a little late, but use stick mount from the play store.

I assume this has been asked before but I can't find the answer.
I've purchased the keyboard dock for the 10.1 galaxy tab and my concern is with the internet and mail keys.
Samsung assure me it's not possible to reassign them to open chrome and the gmail app. However this is android we're talking about so there's always a way.
Does anybody have the answer for this?
Did the store guy say it will work with your Galaxy Tab 7" original?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
He didn't say but I assume it would.
Not on stock rom.
Do you know the 10.1 can take a USB thumb drive as well?
It has USB host mode, like a computer USB port.
Our tab doesn't.
In cm9 and aokp9 they got it working but even then, the USB port supplies no power. They have to use y cable and the charger.
Edit: or is it Bluetooth?

Go to the manufacturer's website of your laptop/desktop (HP, Dell, Toshiba) and check if your blue tooth drivers are up to date.

But thx 4 tip!
Do you have USB debugging on? Perhaps try turning it off. If all else fails you could flash a different ROM, sync, then reflash your old one.

Hey,
Has somebody successfully paired a ps3 controller with the one?
I used ps3 pairing tool and sixaxis from the market and I can get the server to start on sixaxis.
I'm running arhd 2.0.

There is already a post about this. They said they couldn't because of the htc Bluetooth drives. But you should go check it out to read it. Maybe in the future with customs roms but I'm not sure, not a developer.

Oh, I didn't find the thread in my search. My apologies.
Then just lets hope HTC will release the sources soon and a dev can get it it work.
@mod thread can be closed or deleted.

The only way that this is going to work is if HTC release working drivers (doubtful)
OR
Someone creates a vanilla style rom like cyanogen mod or complete stock, when KLP arises and they do the stock version, there may be a chance there too, but i don't know enough about it to even speculate.
You can still use a PS3 controller over USB OTG though, right?

i have a ps3 controller and otg cable but its not working, dont know if it is the cable or what? it says in the notification ( unable to charge device) has anyone else got this going?
I only got my phone today but I'm now home so I'll try it in a moment - just copying a load of music to the phone first!
Edit: Same error as you unfortunately. A little disappointing but not the end of the world for me. I rarely used it on my SGS3 so I think I can live without it. Tried a wired 360 controller too, that also didn't work (same error message).

Not had issues on my laptop windows 8 or now on 8.1, i can even use flashtool which didnt work to start.
Happened with me too, windows 8 doesn't let you install unsigned drivers. You need to do an advance reboot and select the option of disabling driver signature enforcement
A couple of days ago my phones free space got down to 1.5GB and I figured I should back it up to free some space. What a pain it turned out to be!
As most of you know we can only transfer as MTP and PTP and I presume this is where most of the problems come from..
1. File identification is slooooww.
2. transfer time literally freezes at the initial transfer to my HDD. making it impossible to drag and drop another set of files
3. I dont believe all of the files were discoverable (aka hidden)
Please post any and all methods/apps/MODS etc. that may help in this kind of process! Thank you.
p.s. I am using Windows 8

I've found it easiest to take out the MicroSD card and put it in an adapter and put it in my laptop or desktop and push files to and from it. Works a TON faster than using the USB cable to the phone.
Assuming everything is on the external SD card.
For anything internal, adb root, then adb pull everything you want. (Make sure the phone is plugged into the original AC charger - it's going to take a while if you pull a lot of files.)
1.5GB left? And I thought I was a software junkie. I still have 23GB free (internal), and there's still loads of stuff I installed to find out why someone was having a problem and haven't uninstalled yet.
For me i only use cabe conection to use odin. For transfearing files i use mmc card reader. Very easy.

Okay. But what if I want to transfer directly from the internal memory? I only just put in an mSD card since the phone got full. Do you push everything from internal to SD then take the SD out and put it in a PC?

I posted a similar question. I used an app called USB switcher on my original Note. I'm waiting to see if it's compatible with the Note 3.
