I assume this has been asked before but I can't find the answer.
I've purchased the keyboard dock for the 10.1 galaxy tab and my concern is with the internet and mail keys.
Samsung assure me it's not possible to reassign them to open chrome and the gmail app. However this is android we're talking about so there's always a way.
Does anybody have the answer for this?
Did the store guy say it will work with your Galaxy Tab 7" original?

He didn't say but I assume it would.
Not on stock rom.
Do you know the 10.1 can take a USB thumb drive as well?
It has USB host mode, like a computer USB port.
Our tab doesn't.
In cm9 and aokp9 they got it working but even then, the USB port supplies no power. They have to use y cable and the charger.
Edit: or is it Bluetooth?

Hi all!
Typing on the Galaxy is... not optimal.
So I'm looking for a wireless but small keyboard (like this: http://www.meritline.com/acrylic-mini-bluetooth-keyboard-clear---p-47990.aspx) , connection with the SGS should be via BT (or is WLAN better?).
Thanks,
LB

Try over in accessories, try the search button!
If you have means to pack the keyboard with you when you're on the move, I'd recommend a "stowaway bluetooth keyboard", which is one you can fold together.
Yes, I want to take the the keyboard with me, so it shouldn't be too big.
Can you recommend a specific model?

Hi guys im just wondering is it possible to use the tab as an wireless keyboard
It might come in handy with my ps3

wouldn't it need the bluetooth profile for a keyboard?
I use an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, with my Galaxy Tablet, and know that there are Bluetooth Keyboards for around 20 pounds.
Interested to see if someone can help you to solve this!

Yeahci hope soneone has a way to ger thisbworking it would be cool to see this work

Oh, it's capable of that for sure. However, the Bluetooth stack in the Tab would need to support whatever keyboard protocol is needed, then you need a Keyboard app. that could display the keyboard and push the user input over the stack to the connected device on the other end. All in all, not a trivial task, but doable.
That it was possible i kinda suspected that but seeing it really work would be awesome
Why buying a keyboard if its possible with a tab or a galaxy s

USB Host mode with libusb ?
Did anyone yet get host mode running on the S5830 Cyanogenmod ?
Or does anyone have a link for more information?

I want to connect a kind of USBasp hardware so did anyone compile libusb for android?
If anyone has any information (links) about USB host, it would be extremely appreciated here !
Hi guys, since some day, I thought i could be interesting to use and manage our Note by our pc, maybe while it's connected for a charge. I searched everywhere, and in the end I found a program (but not really)... Android screencast. Connecting the mobile by a usb cable to a pc, and running some adb comands, it should be allow us to manage our mobile from our pc, using our keyboard and our mouse also. Now, I don't know if this little program (android screencast is a little java script) is updated to work with our note, but I followed all the instructions, and I'm not able to use keyboard or mouse. I just can see the display on my note though my pc, but I cannot interact in anyway with it.
Now, anyone already used this program? Anyone know an alternative program to do what I wish to?
Thanks in advance

Interesting app! But it works only with stock rom I guess. Yesterday I found another app, MyMobilier (for pc). Once time you connect your note by usb, mymobilier install an app on your note also and it works greatly. You can control your note totally, using mouse and keyboard pc
My Samsung portable media HD with USB OTG doesn't appear to work on my One, when I plug it in it gives a message in the status bar saying unable to charge please use correct charger or something to that effect, it works fine with my Nexus 7,worked sometimes with my S3 but not all the time.
Haven't got round to unlocking bootloader yet or rooting yet, would this be a reason why it's not working?

The phone might not be capable of running it, try plugging the HD in a USB hub then connect the OTG cable to the USB hub. Some portable HD's work through OTG others don't.

It works fine on a PC, my Nexus 7 and occasionally worked on my Galaxy S3, I'd be surprised if the HTC One didn't allow this to work, anyone else tried?

A PC and nexus 7 have more output. Is the HDD formatted using FAT32? If not format using that, if it is try creating a partition.

USB OTG Not Working
Tried using 8GB and 16GB SanDisk USBs, but I'm getting the errors:
Blank USB Storage - USB storage blank or has unsupported filesystem.
Unable to charge device - Please use the supported charger.
Would anyone know any fix for these issues? Do I need to setup/configure anything else on my phone or USB?? Thanks.
i have standard otg cables and my one doesnt work with jump drives. from what i have read around the forums that the one may need a Y otg cable. because what im seeing is the one doesnt put enough power out the usb port to power much. so the y otg kinda works like the mhl hdmi connector. hope this helps

Got it to work by reformatting my USBs to FAT32, they were formatted to NTFS before. Also, I'm using the generic android OTG cable and it works well.
Usb otg prblm
On my micromax a89,usb otg is not working.
but it is charging the phone when connected to pc through the malt-malr usb connector.
How can i get this to work?
Since I can't post in the CM-10.2 thread (I'm a lurker, not a poster) I have to ask here and hope someone can answer...
Is there any update on USB OTG support in CM 10.2?

Maybe a little late, but use stick mount from the play store.
