[Q] Unable to flash, stuck at logo - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before anything.
Model: GT-I8190
JZO54K.I8190XXAMB2
I tried to root my device without prior knowledge and ended up soft(i hope) bricking my phone. It showed that the files are damaged and that I need to connect with Kies to repair it. Did that. Twice. Both ended up with me being stuck at logo screen.
Power + home + volume up doesnt work, it just goes straight into logo screen and gets stuck.
When I enter Odin mode I get the custom binary download: 2
Current binary: custom
System status: Official.
My mobile can't load up, so I can't turn debug mode on.
Repairing the phone with Kies does nothing.
Tried to flash into stock, still same thing.
Anyone got any idea about what I can do about it?
Tried using the Toolkit and Odin3 itself. Nothing worked so far.

Here try this it might help you , flash as PDA in Odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1597045&d=1356657742

Phone is all right and well with all my stuff as well. Thanks to you :highfive: so happy, I was almost at the state of crying. now I'm crying from happiness. :crying:
Now, as I dont want that same thing happens as before and before doing anything I want to ask.
Is there any good and viable way to root my phone with that firmware?

To root JB look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147786 ignore stock recovery cause it don't work. If you want CwM download Rom Manager and install CwM in there and use that root zip file in CwM.

Can I root the phone using the toolkit 1.1? That program seems to have the rooting ability when debugging mode is on.
Or just flash in the CWM and then use the zip from that topic.

Either way it's up to you, I prefer the last way, don't forget to update SuperSU you can find it here, flash it in CWM.

What kind of wipe/formatting do you do before you Install a new rom??

Being able to boot into recovery, at least, is a good start. Can you get into download mode, and, if so, have you used Odin to flash stock firmware, rather than using CWM or whatever recovery you're using? Can you use adb while the device is booting?

I have the same problem , although i do have a backup efs file from polar box that was made using i9300 not i9305, but no matter what rom i put on stock from odin or not still stuck at samsung logo:crying:
Iam at the same problem :/
Seems like a brick to me... need to use a jig, or just send back to samsung and say that your phone is not starting up. Happened for my galaxy ace last time. Send to samsung and they replaced my motherboard
Sv: [Q] hardbrick??
Not a brick! Just put it in download mode and flash stock rom via Odin and then go into stock recovery and factory reset!
This should do it.

+1 this.
Same thing happened to me and flashing from ODIN worked. Although I never recovered my serial number; it became all zeros. Thankfully my IMEI is okay so I'll live. And if you need stock firmware hit up samsung-updates.com.

[PDA]Rescue PDA Final

Recovery PDA. Why use it?
- You flashed to stock rom without wiping data/cache/dalvik
- Can't get into recovery
- Repair soft-bricks
- Messed Partitions
Recovery PDA. How to use it?
- Flash RescuePDA.tar.md5 with Odin 1.85+
- When rebooting phone start into CWM6 *
- Wipe Cache/Data/Dalvik
- Reboot into Download Mode
- Flash Stock ROM
- Voilà, Enjoy Rescued phone
* CWM ask you to install an untrusted zip, doesn't matter if you select yes or no
Download: RescuePDA (Androidfilehost)
Download: RescuePDA (MEGA)
that is my problem yesterday
but solve

Thank you, it works!
Note: I don't know is that specific just for me, but the phone didn't autostart in CWM after reboot (if that should be happen). It stops on Galaxy Mini 2 logo and doesn't go into CWM. Then I tried recovery key combination (VOLUP+VOLDOWN+HOME) immediately after rebooting and that worked for me. Everything else was as described.

Galaxy S stuck on custom rom logo

HI, so recently i brought a galaxy s gt i9000. I wanted to flash a custom rom so I install cwm and now have root access. problem is whenever i try to install a custom rom it shows the bar for installation in CWM and then goes to the custom rom logo. It does nothing else whatsoever after that. I need to take out my battery and restore my backup in order to get my phone working again from a bootloop. i tried putting the rom in both my external sd card and the phone itself. Also before installing i wiped the dalvik cache etc. Can someone please help, i've tried multiple roms so its obviously my phone. thanks
details:
Running JW4 firmware
android gingerbread 2.3.6
i9000 stucks in logo because your phone is not acessing internel memory...i have also got this problem..i dont have any solution..one thing u can do is that take your phone in download mode for 2 to 3 minutes approximately and then again on your phone ...this will work...But this problem comes again when u shutdown your mobile..another method is to take your i9000 in download mode and connect to computer and then download dbdata.rfs file put in odin in pda and apply ...these two processess will definately work fine to acess your internal memory

Just a few questions regarding how you installed the rom.
1.) What rom, first of all?
2.) After rooting 2.3.6 and trying to flash through recovery, did the phone skip to the kernel screen before continuously bootlooping?
3.) Did you try pulling your battery, then putting it back in, entering recovery and flashing the same rom again?

[Q] N7000 won't boot into Recovery

Hello XDA,
I've flashed Dirty Unicorns on my Note. I had followed the instructions but then I unfortunately installed the RAW Kernel AS last (twrp zip queuing) and i rebooted the system and not the recovery. My note starts to the title " Samsung Galaxy Note N7000" and freezes. I tried with pressing the key combination to go to the recovery but i dont have success. The screen is black and when i take my hands from the keys , the samsung title appears....Are there solutions to go into the recovery ?
Thank you very much and sorry for my bad english!
Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633846
Remove and reinsert the battery. Then keep the power volume up and home pressed till you see the note n7000 screen.. Let it go.. If you see twrp screen then wait..
Else,
Download philz XXLTA tar kernel file and flash it using odin.. Then again try to boot into recovery.
First, I want to express my sincerest acknowledgements. I am very grateful for you helping me in this desperate situation.
The first solution didn't work for me, the second one requires access to my Note's recovery mode.
Unfortunately, I am unable to boot into any mode, all I am able to see is Samsung's logo.
Try to use ADB to boot your phone into download mode, or try directly to go to download mode. Flash custom rom or just a kernel that gives you root permissions and ther try to re-begin the process of custom rom flash. If it does not work, try to read some posts about soft-brick

This should certainly get you into download mode.
From there another option (which I usually use) is to extract boot.img from your last working custom rom. Then flash that boot.img to kernel partition using heimdall.

Nice method... But raw kernel uses modules and blobs and downgrading from that needs a reflash of rom.

You are right. This step is mainly to get back a partially working ROM with a recovery. For full recovery back then will need a dirty reflash of ROM then things should work again.

[S] N7000 won't boot into Recovery
Hello,
pardon me for my late reply. I was unable to charge the battery with the RAW kernel, but a friend charged my battery, which allowed me to solve my main problkem using ADB to get acces to the download mode.
I then flashed a rooted kernel and a custom rom, and now my note is working fine again
I am glad to be able to count on you, this forum is a true saviour in desperate situations.

Phone restarts every minute, cannot enter recovery mode, Please help!

As I said, phone is restarting every minute, it cannot enter recovery mode by using 3 buttons. I've tried hard resetting, but whenever I press the button to erase it, it either does nothing or it restarts again. Also whenever I change some of the settings they revert after a restart. I've tried flashing some rooted roms with odin, and it said "pass" but phone still remained the same. I've tried flashing pit files, the three button recovery and all, but still nothing did any good... Is there any way I can fix this? Is there any way to find stock official images and install them without odin, like LG's software update kdz, or HTC official installer files? Is the phone just dead? Please help guys!

Well from what I see, it seems she checked right options. What could possibly go wrong with it? After Odin was done, the phone was exactly the same as before...
If odin fails try unchecking the reboot option and flash again.

Try to install twrp from novafusion by odin without checked 'restart phone'. Then pool out battery, put inside and go to recovery mode. Choose wipe, advanced wipe, choose everything without SdCard and slide button. Next turn off phone.
After this turn on download mode and install stock rom by odin.
If it not help, you have bricked phone.
Try any method but i dont know why you do something with pit file. Its not recommended to do wth this if its not necesary.
Cheers!

I don't think pit file thing did anything because phone just reverted back. By the way phone is running stock it isn't rooted. Shouldn't it be rooted for custom recoveries?

Answered on your question, yes. Because you need full access to operations on your phone. Btw, when you instal twrp and in some part of this recovery you want leave and restart, twrp ask you, did you want root your rom (its clue).
The easiest way to root your stock rom, find thread with prerooted stock rom to install by odin. Its the easiest way.
