So I was just taking some pictures with my Xperia T, after a few shots, the camera app said it couldn't save the pictures because there was no memory card installed.
I have a 32GB Kingston memory card that's worked flawlessly since I bought it and has never been taken out of the phone since purchase.
How do I fix this?
Thanks for any help guys.
EDIT; the SD card doesn't show up in Windows/ doesn't show up in settings > storage/ can't run Chkdsk on it/ fails to work in Recovery.
Try formatting it. If not im guessing the hardware has problems.

That means it's broken.
I had similar problem and found others have too, Xperia T seems to be breaking cards.
The solution was keep trying the card in your computer, then do a full format to FAT32.
Took me about 15 attempts.
Had the same issue awhile back. Happened right after I watched a movie via MHL. The phone cannot detect the sdcard suddenly. Though card can be detected as a 36MB memory only when inserted in PC. Tried many different things to revive the sdcard but to no avail. Bought new sdcard, this time a Samsung 32GB class 10. Last card was a 32GB class 10 SanDisk one.

Sucks when that happens.
What kind of card did you use, normal microSD, SDHC or SDXC? As only SD and SDHC are supported (SDXC also if formatted differently I believe). If you are using the last 2 formats then make sure your cardreader is capable of reading them else your pc won't see it. For now the only thing I can say is to go look on the Kingston site for any tips/prog to recover/format your card.

Its been a week since Ive been desperately searching with no luck!!!!!!!
I just baought a kingston 32gb class 6 micro sdhc but when ever i put it in my hd2 it just freezes up and as soon as I remove the card it works fine again. At first i though that it was a fake so I:
1)performed multiple tests,
2)reformated a 1000 times,
3)even putting 20gb of data just to make sure.
Turns out that it is authentic and it works perfectly on my girlfriend's htc BalckStone it also worked when I installed NAND (which i later removed due to insufficient memory).Ive been searching for weeks, I think its a windows mobile issue, any tips??
HD2 freezing with microsd
I have the exact same problem.
HD2 + 32Gb Kingston micro SD card (bought from ebay)
Freezes on card insertion. Unfreezes when card is removed.
Found any solution?
Do a google search for SD Formatter.
Try reformatting using that program.
Also, when you're reformatting, don't use the phone, use an external card reader or adapter.

If you ahve bought a 32GB SD card from ebay there is a very high probability that you have bought a FAKE 32 gb card.
If it was cheap its 100% a fake card.
These fake card are actually 1/2/4/8/16GB card but have been modded to report 32GB, some of them you can use but data will get corrupted as soon as you get near the real capacity. Some will just not work from the offset.
Stick your card into your pc via reader/adapter and run it through a drive scanning software and see if its got any bad sectors you will soon know if its fake or not.
The same issue with my 16gb microsdhc. On my friends Samsung Galaxy S it works, on microsd carder it works. But not on my HD2.
I had scanned my microsd with few scanners all of them shown that my SD is in perfect condition.
What about formating? What program should I use? And what formating options should be(file system and etc.)

Fat32, 32KB Cluster, Quick is fine usually but do a normal format to test your card
I red somewhere says that HD2 are compatible with 32GB SDHC class 2 only..
Same problem here…..
Is there any hot fix for the HTC HD2 to solve this problem?
The card is Kingston 32g class 4.

This is an issue that has yet to be solved, unfortunately I cant get any real answer even after searching for weeks. My only solution now is just to buy a 16gb and use the 32gb for some other occasion.

Oh, yes it is. At least mostly true, if not even absolutely true.
I've been using a class 2 32 GB Sandisk micro SDHC card for a year now on my HD, and it will go into my Leo as soon as I get it. Absolutely no problem at all, of course.
It's also the one to use on the HD7 to get the maximum available storage memory.
It was quite expensive when I bought it, but it never bothered me, neither did the Sandisk Compact Flash cards I'm using with my goo old Canon EOS 350D camera.
Some Kingston memory card seem to have compatibility issues with some devices (I'm thinking about EeePCs, too, as it's a very frequently reported problem), but it may be essentially related to higher speeds, as those cards drain too much current. The symptoms are exactly the same : the device will sometimes boot when mains powered, but will crash as soon as you disconnect the mains plug, and won't boot at all from battery power.
The HD2 (and HD7, as it's exactly the same hardware) is known for not loving too much current consuming memory cards, so you'd be wise to stick to class 2 only, as it's supposed to be what HTC recommends.
If you still want to use class 4 or 6 cards... Then don't complain if it doesn't work.
And no, it is not "absolutely true". While the HD2 may not r/w any faster no matter the card, any class will work just fine.

Easy. I always first format my cards using a card adapter and a windows machine.
I know for a fact that class 6 microsdhc 32GBs work. It's what I have in my phone now. I also use a 32gb class 2.
I'm using a Kingston card. I've formatted, the computer sees a mass storage device with 30.2 gb available. However it locks the phone up in the boot sequence. Any Ideas?

What program did you use to format it?
One recommended app, outside of the built-in windows app, is SD Formatter:
http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/
(Link leads to the SD Association, of which I have no affiliation.)
If you have a card adapter, format it there instead of while inside the phone. Good luck
You suggestion is right.
Correctly formatting the card first generally solves most of the problems.
However, most high class micro SDHC cards will probably drain too much current from the phone. You have to find a really serious brand, and a really good one.
I've tried the posted formatting tool. Is there a setting or something I'm missing? After an hour of formatting, nothing, same problem.
I put the card in a 3 year old blackberry curve I had before the HD2, and no problem. I then put an 8gb class 6 card I had in that same blackberry into my HD2 and it worked fine.
I'm trying not to have to return this card because I don't want to wait another week and a half for back shipping etc.. Please give me some hope
"SD Card blank or has unsupported filesystem" --arghh
I recently bought a Class 10, 16gb card from Patriot and RMA'ed it because it kept declaring itself damaged sometimes (although it did work for weeks at a time). Now the new card they shipped me doesn't work at all in my Captivate.
It seems to work in everything except my Captivate (which is where I actually need it to work). It works in my father's Motorola Bravo, in my Canon Camera, and in my computer's SD card reader.
But when I put it in my Captivate, it'll say "SD Card blank or has unsupported filesystem". When I try to format it, it won't actually do anything. Sometimes it won't read the card at all, it'll be like I never inserted it.
My Captivate works perfectly with all the 2gb cards I have which are probably Class2's. I'm clueless what is wrong.
Some class 10 cards will not work well in phones. Sorry mate.
It's certainly seeming like that's the case. Oh well. At least I can use it in my camera.
Are class 6 cards ok to use with a Captivate? Is that the highest class that's fully supported?

Did you try formatting with your computer, then inserting into phone? Used to have a phone that would only take card that way.
I've tried formatting on the computer both through windows and the SD card formatting utility from the SD card group. I've tried everything... my captivate hates that card even though my computer and father's phone have zero issues with it.

I was talking to my relatives about memory cards. He has a problem with his Note N7105 not detecting this Sandisk Ultra 32 GB Class 10 microsd. As far as I know he is using stock. I'm not sure whether or not if there something wrong with the memory card or a capaibility with android not detecting exFAT?
I'm sorry if the language from the screenshot is Chinese.

When I inserted my 64GB microSD (Sandisk) that was in my S3 4G into my XZ it didn't see it as being formatted. The XZ prompted me to format it, so I did.
Total space is 59.45GB

They are quite cheap, you can get them for like 50$ or something, though I wouldn't advice on buying from ebay.
64GB SD cards will work on any Android phone as long as it is in the FAT32 format.
there is a way to convert them to exFat

Am using SanDisk 64 ums 1 class 10
XperiaZ and SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC 64GB
I have a SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC 64GB installed to my new smartphone Sony XperiaZ. The problem is while I want to see the files (videos and photos) of my Xperia Z via my PC (USB connection) some files are not appear. On the contrary, the files are visible when the micro SD in on the phone and also visible to the PC when I insert the card to my PC with an adapter. Do you have any idea why I have partial access to the files of the micro SD when is on the phone?

I also bought a sandisk micro SDXC 64 GB. a notification of memory card "SD card unexpectedly removed" several time. and the device just freeze when accessing files on sd. card. I'm using now 8 GB till I find how to solve the problem. I already format the sd card to fat 32. and doing it several times. if you find any thing regarding this subject please let me know.
Why dont u try and change it to exFAT instead of FAT 32? Check the method posted in GENEREAL section.

Hi Guys,
Do you guys able to write to exFat formatted 64GB MicroSD card from Windows7/8? I mounted the card from XZ as a storage and I can see the content of the card but not able to perform any write operations.
Any advise?
Thanks.
I have a rather funny problem tho is that when I copy videos on the card, it wont play on my XZ the first time I insert the card, so I put it back in the card reader in the laptop, played every videos from start, and skip to the last minute, still plays, so no problem with sdcard, that 8gb videos, put back in to phone, and the videos now all plays perfect, wonder why that is.... this is with the 64gb sdxc
also when it doesnt play the video the phone loses the card then mount it back on again, gonna try exFat and see how that goes
result: no problem so far... copied all the backed up from old sdcard on t it, have album on screen while copying and everything pops up very quickly, all videos play perfect, all images perfect, 8gb on it so far, would take a while to fill the card
i bought a samsung 64gb with 70mbps read speed. The newest apparently... not sure if i feel for some marketing trick but whenever i read from sdcard i have never had any lag...
i recommend if you can afford the $70 - $90 price tag
I have a 64gb Samsung Evo+ SD card, and in the two months I've owned this phone the card has become corrupt - Android recognizes that there is a card, but I cannot read/write to it. I can take the card out and put it in my PC and do a CHKDSK and get the data off of it.
Any idea what causes this? Or is the card shot?
I have exact same card and haven't run into this issue.
I had issues with my SD card on the regular E4 (Non Plus Variant), popped it into the E4 Plus and haven't had any issues. It seems Moto has some bad SD readers floating around.
I'm using that same card for a few months. No issues.

Are you using that card as internal storage? That'll burn one out real quickly since they're slower than the actual flash hardware on the device

Nope. I don't see the point in that. I want to be able to take my card out if the phone gets damaged.
I have been having this issue for months now! I am using a E4 perry and it seems like when I torrent and save to the SD card (as portable storage) this happens.

I'm having the same issue with my E4 as well. I noticed that it's only the 64GB cards that don't play well. In all the other E4's I have, using a 32GB card seems to do just fine.
