[Q] GPRS not working in Note

Hi people,
I have a note in which GPRS wont work if u dont use it continuosly for some time .after that every app which uses it says no network connection. After you restart it it starts working fine but the problem remains same.
any help???

Yea this is mostly because of tata docomo's ****ty network. The only way is to restart.
Go to select network operator and select TATA DOCOMO. It works sometimes . Not always

Press power button.... Activate flight mode then deactivate.... No need to reboot...

I already tried this thing ..but it wont work..
I took it to service center they said its a software issue but after service also the problem still persists..this phone becomes boring without Internet..
Please tell me if it is network problem or any other issue...

Go to apps, find the dialer app and clear cache and data. This will reconfigure you're data connection.

PFA ... did u mean this app ..but options for clearing data are disabled ...

Go to APN setting and reset to default it will let you pick your network provider after. Then, if this doesn't solve it, find the APN for your provider and manually insert them.

So it was working and all of the sudden stopped? Ymmv did you try to remove the Sim card clean it abut and reapply it? And if you have another Sim try that too.

It usually works but as the network goes and comes back say while I'm driving after that it won't come back again.
all apps who need net will show "network not available" the 'E' sign disappears from the phone.
after I restart it, it starts working...
does the sim card has any effect on this...?

It shouldn't have! That indicates to a bad radio or network in your area. Suggest to try a different provider and see if the problem persists. And Sim can influence the reception if it doesn't have a good contact to the motherboards pins.

No problem mate I hope it isn't the phones antenna and it is your provider/Sim card as you said you took it to a service center, and of your picture I see 2 from max 4 of the signal strength and assuming this isn't hspa! You should have at least edge speeds on it. Did you upgrade the firmware of the phone? Via kies! There was some firmwares with crappy modem.open settings go to about phone and post a screenshot of it plz

I didn't updated it. i gave it to service center people they have done the upgrade..

Now open dialer and give *#0228# don't press anything just take a screenshot to see the mode of the network you are and the strength of the signal provided. At least for me the ics modem sucks, the lc1 on last GB German version was awesome.

Sony Xperia Z C6603 SMART PREPAID LTE SIM PHILIPPINES NOT WORKING

Good evening to all, i'm new here, i just want to discuss the experience that i've went through using a SMART prepaid LTE Micro Sim to Xperia Z C6603, so far, i've been troubled by the SIM because the phone cannot detect any connection even if it's not LTE(i think my phone is the problem). but first let's discuss the sim, i went to the office of SMART(Philippines) SM Ecoland Davao City to confirm my complaint regarding their connection. but worse to worst., they cannot do anything about it(FYI the SIM worked on other devices such as SAMSUNG Galaxy S4 and HUWAIE[forgot the model sorry ]), so after the results, i went to Sony Service Center Located at Gaisano Mall of Davao City, after i've complained about it, they said that there is still no LTE here in our city and yet my sister's phone which is using another network provider is now in LTE mode, after she shown her device, the staff of sony was in silence for a few minutes(haha) . Think they know it all right?.. so after that, they tried and tried and failed. Their last attempt was to update my firmware to 4.2.2 jellybean(Sony update). But it still fails. haha..anyway, if you guys have some idea on how to fix this , please message me here, or send me a mail @ [email protected]. Thanks guys. and I really appreciate the help .

Try checking your supported basebands by tapping in on your dialer the following:
*#*#SERVICE#*#* where Service is keyed in numerically. Sorry don't memorize the number sequence. Hehe
Make sure you have LTE supported as a baseband.
Another way is to try and flash some stock ROM's. You'll find a lot on the forums.

Hey there, thanks for helping me, actually i've done what you've asked me to do and yes it is capable for LTE, i think there are many bands supported by Xperia Z , It actually supports LTE_BC1,LTE_BC3,LTE_BC5,LTE_BC7,LTE_BC8,LTE_BC20..
anyway, can you give me a link on how to properly root my xperia z, i just got it updated to jellybean 4.2.2 yesterday. Thanks a lot man. you did well.

Did you receive any SMS from Smart for setting up your data? My phone also had that problem and was unable to connect to Mobile Data. I don't exactly remember what I did but it's somewhere under mobile network settings.

Xperia V signal antenna problems

I have problem with signal antenna since 2 weeks ago on my xperia v, I lose my signal antenna randomly, rebooting sometimes help but it is very annoying because I always missing important calls... I googled it and according this threads form sony mobile help center get this result at last: It seems the Xperia V JB 4.1.2 firmware find a new bug for signal antenna. Now, is there any one have the same problem here? I didn't solve my problem yet but I think we can talk about that and find out a ceaseless solution. Please let me know your experience and idea about this problem...

i don't know for sure if my problem is related to your's but it's similar i think..
well my one sometimes can't get signal for some while after boot some times..
more frequently it says that the sim card is missing despite showing carrier name and proper signal sign..
i always have my problem solved just by entering airplane mode and out so it could reconnect to network.

It can be firmware bug too. airplane mode sometimes works for me but I have to reboot most of time. another experience or idea?

I have a sony xperia v . I bought it last decembar but facing some problems. sometimes it does not get any network.I bought new sim card but problem remains the same. I restart my phone to get rid of it . sometime it helps some time not.

I know the post is old and others, but now I just got a V xperia LT25i.
In which I have had the problem of the radio signal, and it was as easy as that the signal cable inner radius, had broken [incomprehensible], since neither has shock or anything, and it was something sudden, as it has I been running well for a long time, in the hands of someone else ..
So anyone who may have this problem, remove the cover [are 6 or 7 screws], and on the right side check that the cable is good, and if change is broken, and if it's okay, then the problem is Software , rather than hardware ..

xperia zr sim card problem. specifically on (Globe telecom Philippines)

My xperia zr works perfectly while using Smart, talk n text, sun cellular simcards but doesn't work on any Globe sim cards or touch moblie (tm), this providers that i mentioned is from the Philippines.
I am certain that this phone is openline. I've checked it using xperia codes in dialler that i dont remember.
When I insert the Globe sim it only shows no service and emergency calls. But it shows the Globe provider in notif. I connot make call and text.
But when i use other network it works perfectly.
Is there any solution for this. Thank you guys. Im new here.
My phone doesnt have warranty anymore. :crying:

I am not really really sure as I haven't faced this situation before. Is there anything wrong with that particular sim card? is it possible to get a replacement and see if it works.
Someone in the forum might have better answers than me Wait before you try it out.

Sir I tried different globe simcards, Sometimes it works but when signal drops to zero it remains no service and cant make or receive call and text. But I can see that the signal bars are working. But when I use other providers like smart,sun It works like charm ( , im on stock rooter 4.3 jellybean.

Good day Lervzz, try using gsm only as your mobile network. i'm using tm and everytime I use wdcma, my phone oftenly doesn't have a reception. This may be a problem for globe prepaid subscribers only.

I've tried that huhuhuhuhuhu
still no service , but the signal bars are going up and down. In lockscreen there is GLOBE but in notif its no service sometimes emergency calls only.
yes its only a problem on globe. waaaa .

I'm quite sure that I only encounter that problem when I'm using wdcma only. Why don't you try bringing your unit to a sony experia stall, they may give better info regard9ing this. The phone was launched June last year which makes me wonder why your phone doesn't have warranty anymore.

Is it possible to grant my warranty even though I dont have the receipt but ntc and sony sticker is intact? This phone is second hand. :/

I send my phone to repair, I'll update you guys.. hopefully my phone will work again.

Xperia Z Network Problem

Hi,
I'm using Xperia Z c6603. I face a different type of problem. My phone shows all the signal bars yet I'm not able to recieve any phone calls or dial them. I replaced my sim card, yet tit didnt help. Can you guys help me out. I have also flashed my phone.

Flash full stock ftf and try again

I tried but it didn't help. Any other suggestions

Try to keep your phone in 2g only mode. When i keep 3g only only mode i sometimes can't receive call from other party. But 2g only mode solved my problem....

In old galaxy spica I had similar problem and I had disabled GSM(dunno why) and after second full flash of fresh stock ROM It was working again.

Few quick question before we can help you:
1. When those problem started?
2. After what? did you flash custom rom or Kernel ?
3. You had any app/script that could modify your phone?
4. You had ANY hardware problem before?
5. Your phone fall to the ground?
6. Did it have any contact with water?
7. What system do you have now.
8. did you check sim slot?
9. do you have signal strength in this menu that i post earlier?

1. This problem started a month back
2. It all started suddenly, I am on the stock rom without root
3. No I dont have any app that can modify my phone
4. Yes I had a faulty battery problem which was fixed
5. NYes once it had but it was a long time back before the problem started.
6. No it did not have contact with water
7 I use the stock android 4.4.4 kitkat
8 Yes I have checked my sim card slot, I have also replaced my sim a couple of times
9. Yes I have signal strength -79dbm and 25 asu

I think Im getting a clear view of the problem, my phone isnt able to shift from 3g to 2g I guess. I came to this place where only 2g works, I had my network mode setting as Wcdma(preffered)/gsm, its reluctant to shift. Is it a hardware problem?

Hmm.... If you have signal and phone see network its not hardware problem. To be honest its more like system or more specific kernel problem in 4.4.4 I say this because you ares sixth person who i know that have network problem in 4.4.4
For examle after flashing kk on my phone i have looooooots of reboots if i have 3g network on, and my phone swith to 2g if its in sleep mode.
My friend also have problem similar to yours but it cant use phone function if its have LTE enabled.
Best part is that when he flashed 4.3 problem is still there, but he didnt had it before when he had 4.3
I cant flash any other system now(i use phone too often )so i dont know if i also would had this problem...
So if you can, you could flash even 4.2/4.3 full clean rom and check, just to be sure. Its a bit "extream" downgrade but flashing it and checking its max 1h...
Probably like always its small weird bug or specific system setting problem, maybe different region rom...
So for now you could check other rom, even branded and downgrade to your old 4.3 to see if you still have such problem.

Seriously its a relif that its not a hardware problem yet.
I also flashed the lower version of the kernel. I am facing the same problem . I use the local region ROM only,
I think Im gonna give up on sony now

You are not alone, I am also facing this issue and do not know how to resolve it too.
Sometimes when I try to call (full bars on) it makes a bipbip then Call not possible...
Same issue while switching from GSM to H... Most of the time I have to reboot and let it settle for a while.

I'm in spain,having a virtual operator sim called ono,is using vodafone infrastructure.Is needed to have roamin allways activated for data and call to work properly.When stucks to connect,i put in flight mode 1min.With orange sim no problems.With ono sim in a windows phone i had no problem.Now i demanded a sim 4g,will see if are changes.

Woahh happend to me as well , but it happend after turning on mobile data in 15 minutes my network stopped .
