[Q] max temp cpu - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello, I have the xperia t, and I noticed that my phone gets some what hot while gaming, now sinds I haven't rooted it, I know it will not harm my phone, (hopefully) but now I was wondering what is the max temp for our snapdragon s4?

It shouldn't harm your phone if you use it carefully and not heat it for a long time and let it cool often.
I think it's about 80°C or a little more. Any bigger and extremely big values forces the phone's shut down to cool the CPU.

My dad actually bought it recently, so I had a chance to play with it a bit. It's a great phone, and it has a great camera.
Only problems I heard you might have with it is that the plastic around the camera tends to crack. Also, I've read somewhere that RAM might be problematic at times. No trouble so far with the unit I tried, though. Compared to some other phones and their problems, however, I'd say you have nothing to worry about

in my opinion "XPERIA P" I absolutely better
1ghz dual core cpu(equals to 2ghz single core processor)
Sony withe magic technology
Sony bravia technology
Perfect design (arc is better in design I think)
Multi touch, up to 4 fingers!
16 gb internal memory
No sdcard but u can attach USB flash disk
Higher resolution
Mali-400 gpu(4 cores)
8 MP cam
1080p @30 fps video recording (awesome quality)
Gets jellybean, but arc won't
I think "p" is around 2 times faster than "arcs"

The characteristics of that phone are golden. But however, look at the battery. Only 1305 mAh. In comparison, our Xperia X8 has 1200 mAh. Taking into account the heavy OS it has, immense amounts of RAM, a monster CPU, and a large screen, I'd say the battery couldn't even last half a day with normal use. I think it isn't even user-removable.
Don't get me wrong, on other things I think the phone is a masterpiece, but you would need about 50% more battery power to handle all that. Reviews on the net seem to concur. Powering a battle tank with an AA battery would be a perfect analogy.

If you can afford it buy the Xperia S or the Xperia SL. Super phones but costly. They are worthy opponents even to iPhones and Galaxy S3

Is the phone temperature really that high?

Hello, I've been reading about this phone and i noticed that everyone is talking about this phone heating even after just browsing web and that CPU temperature is higher than on other smartphones.
One user said that he has the CPU temperature of about 65 C when browsing web and that it is usually like that.
In my country it is 40 C in the summer and it is very very hot. Do you think that that will be a problem if I get the device?
What are your cpu and battery temperatures?

There are plenty of people from (Spain, middle east, other warm countries) who have the phone and they don't have any trouble.
I also had a heating issue, but it seems to have gotten better and better, now I can play games without the phone heating up a lot.
All phones get hot under stress, my o2x gets quite hot If I play a 3d gfx game. The HTC one gets even hotter.

It gets hot. Just like any other smartphone. Not quite as hot as my previous Galaxy S II in normal usage. Benchmark the XZ with Antutu. Voila, you can fry an egg of the back.

I don't play 3d games on phones and I don't mind if it is hotter on hand than the currently used S2.
I just want to know is there a possibility that cpu it will overheat and die or something like that.

No the cpu wont die.the phone has a built-in app that monitor the cup temp to prevent over heating and the phone will shutdown when needed.

Got XZ in my hand right now, I tried the HTC one in the shop when I was testing both devices before deciding with one to buy, the htc one got hotter doing exactly the same things.
Hmmm.... Okay! That why your signature is always sent from p990?
Never the less the XZ is a great phone, I just cant deal with dead pixels, they make me ill (99% won't even notice dead pixels with PPI as high as the display on the Z, I just have sharp eyes). Definitely gonna give Sony another go in the future. Will be sad to see my XZ go back next friday.
Its one of the most beautiful phones I've seen. The temp isn't that bad and since .434 update its alot less toasty, just gets warm (not scoulding) and as has been said, if the cpu does get too hot, the phone will shut down (That wont ever happen though).

You can check with Bat Stat. It's a widget and work very well.
From my experience a mobile completely in idle should stay at 25/30°C, messaging and do some other light things up to 35°C and gaming 45°

Temperature change means that your CPU is working. That's why you use more battery. If you want to preserve your battery on a rooted phone you can use apps like "SetCPU" and set as max cpu speed 1016 MHz. This will not reduce drastically you phone speed but will help you to preserve more battery. When you want to play some game set the max value back to 1500 Mhz

Atm I was reading a book from Play Books and temp is 29. With my Note I had similar values.
The thing that is different between XZ and Note it's that XZ can't exchange hot cause it's waterproof and Note can do more effectively.
XZ has a front and back "glass" so it's more sensible about external temp.
Here in Italy summer it's coming and I'll expect about 30° CPU temp as normal

Today I wanted to test how is the battery of this phone. I had unplugged from charger at 6.30 AM and connected to PC for 10 mins during the day. Now I have 33% remain and I went on YouTube, listened songs with Spotify (offline), SMS, FB, Twitter, Viber, Play Book: a normal daily use for me.
I have .253 fw and Doom Kernel with wheatley governor and cfq scheduler. 1026 MHz max - 192 MHz min. Juice Defender Ultimate for mobile data and WiFi always active when I am at home or at work.
About 18h without charge. For me it's an exceptional battery life. (when i hade Note I used to go with 3 more battery in the bag!)

[Q] Overheating, throttling, gaming performance

Since one month I am considering an upgrade of my good old SE Neo V. I mainly use it for gaming. After a deep research, and a lot of read I have narrowed my pick to 2 phones Xperia SP and Nexus 4. Both devices have Adreno 320 and similar price level which is vital for me. Since the overheating, throttling, gaming performance on N4 is quite well described over the web the problem seems to be the lack of similar information over XSP. I would like to kindly ask you for help with running few stress tests (you can use app StabilityTest (ROOT optional) by intostudios) and posting those results here. Also if you have some expirience with gaming on you XSP please feel free to write something about it: is there any problem with 1GB of RAM while gaming, or with touch after the device is heavily used for 30-60 min (I know about the issue when XSP is on a flat surface), are all games available for XSP?
All this data should let me make the best choice about my future phone. Thanks in advance to everyone willing to post your results below :good:

Stress test will only end when your phone crashes. It is used to test for stability after overclocking etc.
If it doesn't crash after 30 mins then you can end it.

If 5 hours is not enough I don't know what is.

[Q] My LG OB is getting hot. Is this normal?

Hello there
My LG Optimus Black is getting hot around the ear piece
This happens when charging the device or using It for long time in a heavy app like youtube or gaming.
Is this normal or I have to visit the service center?
I am using IZS v1.1
Interactive governor
Max freq is 1 Ghz & Min freq is 300 Mhz
Thanks in advance & Sorry for my bad English.

Same for me, sometimes it's up to 50C when i use it while charging.
On the other hand ,that also means that much heat is getting off the phone, instead of staying inside and damaging it,thats physhics.
Well, I think that the USB cable is getting hot due to delivering electriciy then this heat is transfered to the phone.
But Is It normal to getting hot during using heavy apps due to processor over-heating.
The question is "This is a normal situation or we have a problem with our CPU??"

Usual, not normal. Cpu is much hotter than the rest of the phone. And it dies at 70°C. Battery heatting as charging and cpu at max should not damage the phone, if it's getting to 50°C, leave it iddle, no?
