[Q] cm7 slow in downloading............ through wifi and 2g/3g

hi all i am having problems with downloading anything using cm7 rom is there any way to speed up.................like stock rom or stock based rom? hope to get a reply soon.......

I experiense faster wifi with cm7

does it got to do with which country you r

While reading up about signal drops I came across this topic of baseband and ril drivers not matching which can cause 3g irregularities maybe you can look into that also could/might help

Kernel flash = Carrier unlock?

Does flashing a custom rom/kernel automatically mean that the phone will be carrier unlocked? Does this go for all android phones or just note?

i have tried many firmwares but it didnt work ! can u tell me where is the wifi chipset located in this phone !

i have tried but they told me that they wuldnt take it because of the bin counter !
i have dissassembled it rightnow and i think the wifi chipset isnot stable it the wifi some times work and other times it doesnt so i will fix it but i need to find the place of the wifi chipset and i cant find any video about that anyhelp !

Wifi Problem solved!
Found great little app ADB wifi and problem is solved! :good:
Edit> again and this is third time Wi-Fi not working again.

system ui problem

I was playing with some modules and i got a problem with my ui "the process com.android.systemui has stopped " and i pussed it from ftf the systemui apk and odex but now the statusbar and nav not exist what should i do now

Simple answer
undo the changes you did to the modules first and go from there.

i did alot of changes and it appeared after installing gravity box and xuimod but even after unstall hem the problem still there

delete the internal storage using recovery mode... it will work as new device...

I don't want to lose any data
Itvs ok i'll try to solve it my self

Maybe flashing with flashtool without wipe will work.
That way you wont lose your data.

problems with fastboot/locked bootloader

hi
i got my mi5 yesterday with china rom
tried to flash it to the new (7.3.5) global one today via edl mode and miflash and the operation was failed with error about not enough storage.
now my phone stuck in boot loop and i cant get to edl via fastboot because my phone is locked
any ideas what can i do?
i thought about running the fastboot flash rom.zip but afraid to make it worst

Have you Applied for unlock bootloader? Worse case you have to wait for it.

The new Global required an unlocked bootloader, seems you missed that step.

thanks for the answer, ill wait for the battery to drain and will try it. sure i applied for unlock but it can take up to two weeks..
and in their forum i found out that it can be install on locked devices.. :\ anyway why they block the access to the edl??

I guess its because of your system.In their forum its written that you have to do this proccese with an 64 bit windows or you will get this bootloop problem with an not enough storage error.

of course:
i applied to xiaomi to get permission to unlock my phone here: http://en.miui.com/unlock/index.html
it took 3-4 days until they approved it.
its very easy to run their software in fastboot (even with bricked phone)
after that i just flashed an official global rom from miui website and it is working perfect now
