I've Vodafone Australia branded xperia tx which also sim unlocked. I no longer use Vodafone and I would like to debrand it.
Is it possible to flash it with normal non branded Sony firmware?
Also my phone is bootloader locked and it can't be unlocked.
my reason to debrand it is i am afraid that i have to wait for vodafone to release jellybean. not sure about though.
Any help would be really appreciated since i am a noob in this regard.

You can flash a STOCK firmware without root nor BL unlocking, I did it, had this hideous Telcel Logo at startup, lots of bloatware and decided to flash a generic firmware from Canada. Now it's the xperia's multicolor horizontal lines while booting..I have a C6906 running 4.3 with no root and locked BL.
I do not have operator logo but I have some bloatware. How to check if it is branded?

Hi guys, I in Vietnam and I have a Xperia TL Lt30at, I bought it from a store in my country, now I want to upgrade firmware 4.3 for my phone. But I don't know what firmware for it, as I search, that just has firmware 4.3 for Xperia T/TX. I just wondering my phone can read my sim, can use gsm and 3G in my country, so is that unlocked? If it was unlocked, can I use it as every Xperia T (Lt30p) other and up every firmware as Lt30p?
Sorry for my bad english
Hello. I am also using Xperia TL. I can answer your questions :
1) TL can use any rom of Xperia T, not TX made for looked bootloader.
2) You can test your phone with Vietnamese mobile network. If it doesn't run, you should ask your seller to unlock network for you.

I sure that, because i have tried it. I'm using Ultimate PureXT v2.1 of DaRk-L0rD and it run properly, except general bug of xperia T
Had you used search before posting, you would have found my guide on upgrading LT30at to 4.3. LT30p and LT30a/t are the same devices. The only difference is that that a devices have LTE radios in them. Since you use only 3G network, you don't need to worry about basebands.

PureXT is based on stock. Sony no longer upgrades software for its at&t devices, so you have to use stock-based custom ROMs if you want to be up to date.

So if I just use 3G network, I can flash firmware via flashtool normally? But can you help me to know which firmware can flash from the list in above ?

Let me get this right:
- you own LT30at: Xperia TL with USA at&t branding, not Rogers from Canada, which is LT30a
- you live in Viet Nam and you don't have 4G/LTE network where you live
- you want to upgrade the firmware to 4.3 and keep all native Sony features
All you have to do is follow my guide. There is no 4.3 coming for LT30at via Sony Update Service.
"ROM cook" stuff doesn't mess up your device because it's basically the stock ROM with some APKs added/changed. I don't know why you worry about losing at&t branding - it's absolutely useless to you since you aren't in the USA.
Moreover, flashing using the flashtool, you will lose all of your apps, settings, and root access. If you are fine with that, then do go ahead and pick any TFT firmware for T or TL from the list and then flash it.

If I don't need to keep apps, settings and LTE, can I follow the instruction in DaRk-L0rD's post?
@kulomo: You can either follow DaRk-L0rD's instructions or just flash an FTF using Flashtool.

Why are you even trying to unlock the boatload? You need to root the phone not unlock the bootloader. Just follow the instructions.
Hi, I am new in this forum. I have an Xperia Z (C6603) and I’m currently on FW 10.4.B.0.569. I am planning to install FXP CM11 but before unlocking the bootloader I would like to back up my TA partition. I understand that I will need root access for that. My question is whether I can use DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit by flashing back to KernelOnly 10.3.A.0.423 even so I currently have 10.4.B.0.569 or will I have to entirely downgrade the phone to 10.3.A.0.423 by using a full version (not KernelOnly)? Any hint will be much appreciated.
I was going to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/root-how-to-rooting-firmware-10-3-1-0-t2386405 but after reading the instructions again, I guess the warning “THIS IS ONLY FOR THE XPERIA Z (C6602/3) FW 10.3.1.A.0.244 / 10.3.1.A.2.67!” stopped me and I thought I better ask.

the better way is to downgrade to 10.3.1.A.0.244 / 10.3.1.A.2.67 4.2.2 firmware, root it then backup TA,unlock bootloader & flash the CM11
Thanks for your reply. That's the safest way and that's what I finally did. Worked great.
