wifi during Screen mirroring - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I knw that the wifi disconnects when u use the screen mirroring , but at the same time I also have a note 2 which has the tool called all sharecast but when I use that the wifi still works along with the screen mirroring any solution to make this work on our XZ?

I just tested this feature on teh Xperia Ion and TX both stay connected to the wifi during the screen mirroring so you stream data from youtube on your phone via wifi and same time mirror it to the screen , any alternate way to achieve this on Z? or a third party app ?

Yes I am having this problem on my tablet z too. On my note 2 it can connect on both lets hope its a software bug and not a hardware limitation.

[Q] Does anyone have working Miracast with XZ?

I have a D-Link DHD-131 Mainstage WiDi adapter, supporting Miracast because it runs WiDi 3.5 firmware (correct me if this is not correct). I can find the device, but when I try to connect the D-Link says that it has found a device that wants to connect and after a few seconds the message disappears. The Xperia on the other hand is just patiently counting down from 120 seconds to 0 and except that does nothing.
Are there any people that use Screen Mirroring? If so: did it work with your adapter? What brand adapter are you using?

I have tried connecting to a Samsung AllShare Cast Hub, which may not be 100% MiraCast compatible, but according to some video on YouTube it also works with the LG Optimus G Dual (also a 1080p phone)
I found the following issues:
Connection is 'successful' but screen remains black and no sound is transmitted
On one occasions I somehow managed to hear my phone's sound through my TV - haven't managed to do so since
WiFi is disabled (indicated by a pop-up message) as soon as screen mirroring is activated, and re-enabled after the screen mirroring connection is closed!!!
The first 2 items may be compatibility issues, but the third one surprised me and is probably a limitation in the Xperia Z. While the Galaxy S3 can have WiDi and WiFi active at the same time, the Xperia Z apparently cannot
Edit: note that in order to connect to the dongle, I had to press a button on it first. Before pressing the button, I would just keep seeing the same countdown timer you describe here. Maybe that helps somehow?

Hmm... My WiDi adapter had no buttons at all, only a reset-button. I tried resetting and pairing, but that didn't help. Thanks anyway for your reply, at least I'm not the only one having problems using the Xperia Z's Screen Mirroring function with 3rd party adapters... I wonder if there are any combinations of adapter/XZ that do work...

Screen Mirroring from Xperia Z to Roku 3?

So I've just found out that my Roku 3 streaming network player now has beta support for screen mirroring from some Android and Windows mobile devices. Roku's own blog shows that they have tested it with a selection of Samsung and Nexus devices, but they encourage trying other unlisted devices.
I know the Xperia Z has supported screen mirroring since day 1, and I have tested it successfully with a friend's Sony Bravia TV. However I can't get my Xperia Z to mirror to my Roku box. When I select screen mirroring in the Xperia Connectivity section of the settings app and then tap on Turn on Screen Mirroring, I then get "Searching for Devices" and after a second or two, I see my Roku 3 listed. It then attempts to connect, and the TV screen goes from Roku screensaver to the main home screen. After a few seconds I get "Could not turn on screen mirroring" on the Xperia, but the Roku home screen remains unchanged. I get a similar result if I select my Roku 3 from the Throw menu on my phone.
I checked that Screen Mirroring is enabled in the Roku settings menu. My phone is a UK unlocked handset with the latest 10.5.1.A.0.283 Kitkat 4.4.4 build. It may well be that the Roku3 mirroring feature being in beta just doesn't quite support Miracast properly, but it could be that my Xperia Z doesn't support it properly. Does anyone have any ideas? I searched the forum for the term Roku but found 2 unrelated threads.

Hi! I was just testing yesterday with a Philips 7800 series 4K tv and found that the same error occurred. I have used my Xperia Z in the past with a D-Link MainStage DHD-131 and it worked successfully (when my phone was running 4.3). Now with 4.4 it connects sporadically but it won't display anything using Miracast. I guess changes in the kernel broke general Miracast compatibility or something. It did work with a Sony TV tho...

[HELP] How to Connect my phone to Bravia

Okay folks..! So, i bought a Sony Bravia last week which has WI-FI Inbuilt and also have the screen mirroring option..
So my problem is im not able to connect My Xperia SP With Bravia wirelessly ..Im using CM11 which doesn't have any screen mirroring option in it is there any way to do it
Thanks in advance
PS;- i dont wanna use HDMI
im not sure ! but i think is not possible with CM11 !!!
CM11 dosent have SONY service like bravia engine , conversation , DualShock 3 , and bela bela ,,,, and i think that Screen Mirror is just on OFFICIAL Rom ,,,
if you really want Screen mirror , so say goodbye to cm11 and install an stock Rom
anyway you can go on your cyanogenmod's thread and ask from developer of your rom

I have a Bravia with the same capability, but unfortunately this function is a proprietary feature, which is permanently disabled on bootloader unlock (if you haven't got a back-up of your TA partition, you won't ever be able to get it back again).
You can, however, use 'AllCast', written by a highly-respected member in the CyanogenMod community, koush, available on the Google Play Store. Whilst this doesn't currently mirror your screen, you can play your content using 'DLNA' technology on the television.

Screen casting problem in Mi A2

I tried to cast my Mi A2 to LG Smart TV and while casting I was only able to get the home screen that too with a settings button, which is not what my phone's home screen looks like. Does anyone know a fix to it?
Also, there is another problem of hotspot and wi-fi not working together now. Any fix for that too?

Ya I am using stock android 10 only. Casting is supported, I can cast my other phones on TV and I can even cast YouTube through other casting app. It's just that I am not able to mirror the screen and also not able to screen cast YouTube directly.
Also, if you are talking about extending feature in developer settings, that I have already tried but no luck, still it doesn't opens wifi and hotspot at the same time
