Hy....I have a samsung galaxy s with android 2.3.6 (JW5-newest value pack) aaaand its so laggy...for example: the touchwiz 4 lagging or broken, phone restarting...etc. How to can i fix this laggs???
Sorry For my Bad English!!
What helped me a lot was changing to a custom ROM, which is tweaked etc. If you are rooted then search for tweaks (and the app seeder) here in the forums (or just Google search it). If aren't rooted and don't want to, then just try to keep your phone clean — means that u should uninstall every unused app and use cleaners like clean master (its in the play store).
Hope I could help

Hi All,
As I can see that no matter which ROM I install in my X8 the phone will be great in the initial days but it gradually slows down as days go by.
So can you all list out different methods to keep the phone fast and snappier without factory resetting it?
Thanks,
Well first thing that comes to mind is a reboot. But i guess you've done that. Clear cache?

How often do you install new apps? More apps = more lag

Well I guess that would make it a little faster but is there a way that i can do without rebooting the phone and going to recovery and all?
Does the app "RAM Manager" help? or the "Engine flush" in supercharger script by zeppelinrox?
Try Ram Manager Pro
Clear cache

Ram manager didn't work for me. I use supercharger. I'm not saying it's better, just my preference. Well, fef (flush) works. I haven't experienced a major decrease in performance since using it. Hopefully it works for you too.
But still, i've found rebooting your phone every once in a while helps.

It isn't a good idea to mix scripts.. Use one only for performance tweaks..
So either use Ram Manager Pro or supercharger..
My preference is Ram Manager Pro because you don't need hubble telescope to read the settings and apply the tweaks..
Reset factory settings
Cachemate and similar apps work for me, I clean cache every 3 days and phone is never sloved

How about a custom kernel. That may speed your phone up and give you the option to overclock and undervolt. Both will make it faster. But the x8s hardware is outdated anyway. Won't be long 'til it's on the legacy devices list
Hey theres one simple solution..use good task manager.......and use swapper........

Use swap IF you're on custom kernel. DO NOT use a task manager.
Either way, your phone will gradually get slower unless you do a reboot at least.

Just reboot. Rebooting stops all cache. You could clean database and wipe dalvik cache too

This what I did...
I use FroyoBread v23b (Great rom, hanks to doixanh), I did that:
# Just install the necesary apps. Don't install all the aps, I just have Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, SMmagager and root explorer.
# Install modules and scripts. I recommend you Supercharger, do a overclock (Not to high, just the enough, like 691mzh)
# Like the other guys say, Clear the cache.
# Use a simple launcher. Like LauncherPro, you can do nice things with that launcher.
# Disable the screen animations. You'll gain performance but loose visual attractions. If you don't want it, dont do it.
# DONT USE TASK MANAGER. The simple answer it's, leave Android manage the RAM.
# Use a light and simple theme. Like system theme of Gingerbread or Motoblur.
Here in the forum you can a lots of launchers, modules and more, just use the search tool.
This is I remember what I did, my mobile fell so light and quickly, no lag in the scrolling.
Sorry for my bad english :silly:
I think u didnt factory reset a once.
Thats why rom lagging. Do it for ur sake

Reset to Factory Setting / try to re-format your SD Card. Don't forget to make backup
There is a dudy way to got the phone to new condition.
Backup ur current rom with x-recovery
Fully wipe data
Restore that rom from x-recovery.

Hello there, I am a newbie in this forum. Last few day I flashed my S5830 with SGSII JB ROM v10.1 and it works well. I love the ROM a lot.
However, today I have found out that, every time after i reboot my phone, some settings of my apps are gone. First problem is the launcher, I am using Go launcher all the while and I set it as default launcher, but after reboot the default setting is gone and I have to set it as default again, every time after reboot.
Second problem I found is the setting of my 3rd party messaging app, the settings in the app are all being reset back to default state, meaning the settings set by me are all gone, again, same thing happens every time after I reboot the phone.
I thought it might be the bug of the ROM, but i looked through ROM thread and seem that nobody mentioned about it, so I am curious why this happens.
Anyone can help out? Thanks.

There is a tweak manager come with the CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b82 I installed( is kernel or CWM, I think? Sorry for being noob), I suspected the problem came from this thing, so i tried to remove all the "ticks" in tweak manager and then reboot again but the same thing happen again.
I had used the darktremor a2sd script provided in it & also the a2sdgui app to have more storage. But some of my apps went missing. Though they were existing, I wasn't able to use them.
Fix : Reflash the rom. Delete the a2sd scripts from the system/etc/init.d folder & try some other a2sd scripts like d2ext+, etc.

Hello everyone! I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9305 and I want to know if there is a custom rom with no applications in it but only the google play store. An empty rom with only playstore that I mayest install what I want. Thank you!

search in the development section
Some essential apps like android system, touchwiz, etc are essential for ui... So u cant get one with play store only... If you want delete your system apps with link2sd. But its risky and if u delete any needed file ur ui will be gone .. So keep a nandroid backup with u

No empty roms posted but no reason you could not strip a custom rom of many more apps .
It would of course require a bit more than just basic knowledge .

Thank you for your answers. I understand that this can cause problems in the system ... I would have liked to try to make my own custom rom but I don't have much knowledge ... Maybe I could ask a developer if he can try to make one?

Hi all
Can anyone provide a list of safe to delete/freeze apps on N7000 on the latest Jellybean update. I know it's a tedious work but plenty of members will appreciate it. Tried to search but could find list for SII and SIII only. Have disabled more than 125 apps/services on the basis of those list but there's still plenty more left I believe. And I want to stay with Stock Rom for a while so downloading another clean Rom is out of question.
Thanks and Regards
P.S - what services to freeze to remove the Apps Sync and People Sync under Google account? I know we can just untick it but am curious to know the name of the app/service.
I use Titanium Backup to do this.

I am on latest stock indian jellybean rom, unrooted. My Note has become extreeemely sluggish and it takes ages to open apps. For example, if I am listening to a song, and I try to tag it with shazam or sound hound, they take ages to open and by the time the song has already finished. Secondly, when my friends ask me to click a pic of theirs at any moment, it feels very bad that the camera takes ages to open.
I want to know, if I root the device, and use the greenify app to freeze unwanted system apps, can my phone become reasonably alright. Also if I want to root without flashing any kernal or roms, is it possible. PLease help !!!
I think you should smash you Galaxy Note.
I don't know what a "Kernal" is but if you want to stay stock why dont you just reset factory settings from the phone setting, it will be as good as it was when you bought it.

Install clean master from play store, clean excessive junk and try.

Sorry , but I think you should just flash it to AOSP roms . I experienced what you are currently having right now the sluggishness , it's all Samsung's part to blame , they ruined the Jelly Bean for the Note 1 , I can confirm that ICS was running way smoother than JB too!
Even tried Custom TW rom with JB , still the same laggyness , opening the Gallery app would take a long time compared to other roms. So my advice is to just ditch TouchWiz Jelly Bean for the note 1.
The answer to your problem is simple. Install sweet ROM version 10 with c.o.h kernel and greenify. Then install nova launcher if you want a butter smooth ui. My phone runs like lightning...has great battery life as well. Stock Samsung roms run like crap as they want you to buy a new phone.
Slim Bean 2.0 is your friend. Android 4.3.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
ICS is the only way to go for smoothness. I use 4.0.4 LRK
Sent from my GT-N7000
Use ics if you want stock experience as well as smoothness. Stock Jelly bean for note is total crap. And yes, use a different launcher if you want to preserve 100 mb RAM.

I went for P.A.C. running 4.3.1, and it's a world of a difference! Battery is great, performance is great, and has so many features that it's so much fun to customize.
I do prefer stock, but ICS has that scary bug that can brick your phone and JB for the Note is like a sewer. Thankfully my company is giving me a S4 Mini in the next few days...
The phone is easy enough to root - two files in the main int. memory directory if I remember correctly, and boot into the normal recovery mode to install them.
CM10.2 ran very well for me. Stable, better battery life, more responsive (for a two year old phone anyhow).
I'm currently on PAC as well because I like the extra options, but the cost of these new toys does seem to be minor stability issues, although that could be in part due to the number of memory intensive apps I tend to have running.

And can my note get better on stock rom with root and unwanted apps frozen with greenify, also now what is the best way to root without installing any custom kernel or rom?

Instead of freezing them, just uninstall using tb so will free some space in the system partition. Use the supersu.zip file to root. File can be found in many rooting tutorials in the forum.
