Hey,
Got a i9000t and went a bit to far with the Telstra bloat ware kill. Now cant seem to download anything from market and also get a "com.google.process.gapps" error on start up.
I figured re-flashing the original firmware via kies would be a given.
I was wrong.
Any idea's on how to revert back to the out of the box Telstra bloat ware and start again?
I've found the reg edit way for the optus firmware codes and the canadian firmware but would prefer to go back to telstra.
Any advice would be great I'm at a loss.
before we begin... can you confirm your 3 buttons to be working?
once you get the 3 buttons to work into Download Mode
you are safe to flash with Odin
then you can even install another ROM to recreate all the missing stuff you deleted
you need to select the Re-Parition option
depending on what you download from Kies, some ROM will and will not repartition depending on the options specified in the package from factory
so it seems like the one you were trying to re-install didn't have that enable so it did not restore the other stuff you were hoping to get back by installing the ROM
You can try flashing the JH2 ROM, then you can revert back to another version you like after that
Telstra i9000 has a 850Mhz radio too, so you may need to keep that in mind when flashing...
As to your question, you'd have to find the original Telstra firmware to flash it, and I don't think there is any around, since it's just come out. You'll probably have to find some alternate firmware to flash unfortunately. Check what version you're running if you want to try and match it, but the Telstra stuff you deleted is gone for now.
Otherwise, someone with the Telstra version may be able to provide you with a nandroid backup to restore, but there probably aren't many people who have the Telstra version at this early stage (OT - I'm surprised to hear people actually taking up their insane pricing for the SGS).
It's a little late for this advice, but I'm sure you'll heed it in future: get yourself Titanium Backup, and ROM Manager and take full backups before you go messing around with /system.
3 button restore is working. Lucky me got a good one.
I ended up just tracking down the apps I shouldn't have deleted and was lucky to get it back.
There's still no one out there who's put up the Telsta rom so I think I might make a back up now
BTW I got the sgs on the $49 + $16 handset which gives me $400 worth of calls but only 200mb. The plans were not as bad as originally feared.
I hate Telstra but the coverage is second to none and I require it for work. The price isn't that bad for what you get.
Thanks for your advice at least I know what to do when a decent rom comes out now.

$65 p/m with 200mb of data is pretty terrible (for me at least). I was really hoping they'd be more competitive, because - as you say - their network really is the only reliable network in the country, but I'm only on a 12 mth contract, so hopefully they sort their act out next year
Glad to hear you got sorted in any case.
Plus,the Telstra SGS is the 8GB model,correct?
Yeah,
Another little kick in the nuts. They only stock the 8gig model.
Still haven't looked into if a larger SD card can still take it to 32gig total like the others.
Hope so.

I flashed my i9000T, with telstra firmware, FW only,
it reboots and errors, so I did a wipe via recovery, then a cache wipe.
reboots and goes to the Telstra NextG splash screen, then to the "S" screen, does the Samsung sound then goes blank – menu and back buttons will glow white if touched but nothing else
Which is the problem ?
thanks
Used 512 pit

I picked up a T-mobile Tab when I was in US and I want to use it in Europe with all European functions. Can I flash it to become equal to an European sold model?
Do I need to get the SIM unlock done first?
After I have done this, can I use KIES to do normal upgrades?
Thanks!
Bump
Still interested if anyone have flashed a US-Tab to Euro and then got it to work with Kies (doing upgrades etc).
I'm aware of the differences in modems support, but that is not an issue for me.
follow the steps
I have bought a T-Mobile tab a week ago and i have changed the Firmware with the European version to enable the dialer and then unlocked the phone with the hex edit by rotohammer first post.
So here is what you need to do
1) flash a euro firmware (get the latest from samfirmware.com)
and follow the instructions carefully.
2) unlock the device using the hack provided on the post here

I am a newbie. If I am in the wrong forum please redirect me.
My problem is that while flashing my t-mobile Samsung G tab using odin3 the power in my house went out and I am now bricked.
I get a logo that shows a graphic of a phone 2 dots and a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, another 2 dots and a graphic of a PC.
When I try to get the download mode I cannot but I could get into a mode "Power reset or unknown upload mode" when I press both the 'up' and 'down' volume key at the same time as when I press the 'power on' key.
The logo would recycle every few seconds even if I try to power off.
I tried to let the battery run out and when I recharge the tab. the same thing repeats.
You need to re-flash using Odin!

I figured I would have to do that. Unfortunately my Sammy would not power down. It kept looping, off and on and when it was on, it gave me either the 'logo' or the 'power reset' message, both of which I described above. I even let the battery run down and upon recharge it immediately went into the loop I mentioned.
I tried to connect it to my PC but the PC would not recognize it at all. I checked to make sure I have the right drivers and I do.
I am hoping some one would know how to get the boot sequence working without having to physically open the pad.

If you can get back to that screen, which is download mode, you can reflash Roto-JME and get back to a working Tab.

I had to wait awhile to reply because the tab went dead - no power. I tried to recharge it but it did not hold enough power to let me complete the task.
I am recharging it for 24 hours hoping that it will hold enough charge to let me complete the task.
In the meantime I located several sites for Odin3 v 1.7 but I was unable to get the same pack as ayman019 had which probably came from you rotohammer. will it be possible to get the link so I will have the right software/firmware?
(I located P1000XXJHA.rar files but I am having difficulties unzipping it. Each time I try it asks for a password. or would not even allow me to unzip it at all)
hi just curious,
can i flashed samsung tab t849 to samsung tab p1000??? it will not brick my tab???

Hi,
T849 from T-Mobile accidently flashed with wrong firmware and tab become totally dead. Repaired boot with Riff Box, so I can enter in to download mode now but couldn’t find Roto-JME or stock firmware. All download links are dead or deleted.
Would you share Roto-JME please?
Thank you in advance.

Horrible guide. Setup for failure and no support.
There is hardly any need for this old firmware. You can always run any European GB rom for P1000 as long as you keep T-Mobile modem you get 3g or use jpz modem and you get voice.
And with roto modem switcher you can even switch between voice and 3g.
The link in my signature is overcome links. It has gb jq1 rom and method to flash it.

I have an SGH-T849. Trying to unlock it. Cant find any positive guides for custom roms or anything. Everything is only on the p1000 so I am taking my chances and flashing p1000 firmware so I can fit in.
You will be alright.
I am holding in my hand a T849 now running AOKP SGT milestone 6.
The T849 is exactly like a P1000 except the modem hardware.
I don't know about network unlocking though.

Hey!
Soo I'm a total noob and i've looked around but can't seem to find this problem. I flashed a stock 2.3.3 for the samsung Galaxy S I9000M. My phone is originally from bell and I couldn't go on the market and sms that where sent to me shows that it was sent 4 hours ago. I bought it off some guy who unlocked it for me. I'm on the Fido network.
So I got a friend to flash it for me and it's on 2.3.3 I9000xxjvk. And now I can't get the 3G to work and it says i'm roaming. Mind you the market works now and sms shows the right time.
I know it has something to do with the modem. My friend suggested the SP6160_ARIES_DB221110 from :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876391
Now I have odin and the AIO Vibrant Toolbox installed. But i have no idea how to flash that modem. And I don't feel like bricking my phone thats barely a week old.
Please can someone tell me if this is the right modem and a step by step guide for a noob like me to install the modem.
p.s. I have the correct Fido APNs. it's the same one i used when i had it one 2.1
These links will help you out.

Have you turned OFF Mobile Roaming in the settings .

you guys are life savers.
well thats weird.... Now i can't search anything on the market, says it's not in the market.... But before I could. i can still download it if i find it on my pc through android market.
Now i can't even download from the pc site. and when i go on my phone it tells me
Warning: : your device might not be compatible with android market. Contact your device manufacturer for information.
This is frustrating. I flashed the JL2 modem, should i try the KCI?

I'm not having any problems with the market, though in the past I did install eris market fix. Give it a shot.
Just flashed the new gingerbread rom. Works great but it doenst recognize my sim card or network. I have att tab. Any help to restore it?
Did you remember to download the Modem package too? That's what I'm guessing.

Did you flash the version with the bootloader? Any whiteline issue on boot?
No I didn't download or flash a modem do I need to? I flashed the one with the bootloader. No whiteline I noticed.
I flashed with bootloader, tried 2 different modems, and no network. wifi works. tried flashing back to stock and everything went crazy. While I was using Odin, I STUPIDLY, plugged in my Captivate to charge without thinking, causing Odin to fail and I got the "phone - ! - PC" Icon.......talked about scared! Ended up using Roto's ATT stock image and Odin to get it back running again, barely. Now I get CRAZY lines when I boot (like if you tweaked the cable to an LCD screen), can't see Recovery screen....total craziness. Still no data. so I flashed back to OverCome Gingerbread ROM following his instructions, still no data
UNTIL
I swapped the SIM card with my phone. I suddenly got data on my Tab, but data would not function on my phone. Seems like the problem follows my SIM. Background: I also had a weird issue before hand where I couldn't open the Market on Cellular data without killing the data connection on Stock Rooted.
Thought I'd share.
EDIT: oh, and I can send text messages without issue.
Go to Settings, Wireless & Network, Mobile Networks, Access Point names and make sure you have one called Broadband (assuming you are on the ATT monthly data only plan)
If you dont, create a new APN and name it Broadband & make the APN Broadband as well. Just leave the other options and save it & select it.
I think by default it comes up with the ATT wap.cingular APN with doesnt work with the Tab Data plan.

Follow my instructions above and flash the JK3 modem fromt this thread.

Mine keeps saying insert sim card to access. So how do I get it to recognize the sim?
Please anyone with some help? Can I store back to original att froyo and just wait for official upgrade?
Have you guys entered in your APN settings for ATT Broadband?
I am also having a strange radio issue. I am using an ATT Tab with Overcome v2.0 Beta 2 and the JK3 modem. 3G data works great until I try to access the Google Android Market. As soon as I do it drops the 3G connection and wont come back until I reboot it. If I dont go to the market or only go to the market on WiFi it works just fine. I also verified that the same behavior happens with the JPZ modem..
My theory is somehow ATT is blocking Gingerbread Tabs from going to the market using their SIM card. Therefore I think maybe I need to edit my build.prop to spoof them. Can anyone recommend which values should be changed? Can anyone think of anything else that could cause this? Can anyone reproduce this issue on their ATT tab?

You used the bootloader patch app, right?
Reinstall the stock 2.3, then the root, then overcome. Follow the overcome guide, this time put the modem.bin in the phone slot in odin. There is no other fox for the wiggly lines. If you don't reflash everything, you can't get into recovery mode.
i cant get into the network settings as it tells me to insert a sim. I tried to flash the modem as well with no luck.
ok so I turned on my tab to play with it a bit and I had data! It was an H and seemed to work. When I restarted the tab it stopped working and said no sim again.
1) The Gingerbread rom has a modem with it that works fine on AT&T.
2) Did you leave your sim card in while flashing?
i did leave my sim in while flashing. Should I have it out? It seems the tab only recognizes the sim card every so often. Not all the time. Any way to flash the sim recognition part?
Could you please post how you flashed your att tab so I can follow it? Thanks.
I've switched to AT&T and gave Verizon the boot. I've got phones that work on the AT&T LTE network perfectly but have this S6 Edge just sitting here.. if I swap the SIM I can get 4G LTE, but if I get a call or text it switches to that band, and never recovers the LTE ... Long story short. If I change the partitions using Odin (PIT file) and an AT&T official Odin rom from AT&T .. will I brick the device beyond recovery? Or is there something in here that will prevent this from even happening? I'm not new to Android or rooting but.. this is new for me.. I've used PIT files in the past but not like this. I'm guessing no matter what I do the bootloader will stop it but.. in theory will this work?
If you attempt to flash stock att on a vzw device you will brick yes. Should be recoverable as long as you can still access Odin and reflash stock vzw ROM onto your device
