It just takes time to clear the cache, leave it aside and it'll eventually complete after some time! It's completely normal and is no problem. And for the errors, they are too normal and just log errors. Don't worry!

I cleared it, after looking through the log, the ROm i had flashed had corrupted the cache... ,
So i flashed a new Rom and it worked fine and was able to refix the permissions and clear the cache , the errors are gone

my god so problems! I did the update but now the screen is not the drawing below where android says Cyanogen 9 and not beyond this stage. What should I do? help me people. the rom is cyanmobile
Do a clean install... go to cwm, mounts and storage>format /system, go back to main menu, wipe data-factory reset. Go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache. Install rom, and when its finished wipe data-factory reset again, reboot device. Note that you'll lose all data stored in internal memory (messages, contacts, apps...) and please tell me if it worked after you do this
yes yes it working, thanks! already now you can tell me something about this "E: error in / cache / recovery / log" underneath it says "no space on device" will be that this has to do with it? tanks bro

there is no problem
cache is fully filled with files and no space left so recovery cannot paste the log of flashing

Its very possible that low internal space caused that problem.
Hi,
after installing the cm9 nightly 2012/06/29 and had a reboot, the /data folder cannot be mounted anymore.
already tried to install factory-rom with pit-file and re-partition over odin, but the install stops with the error "failed to mount /data".
can anybody help me?
thank you

Solved:
had to do a full wipe and flash the rom again.

Same thing happened to mine. What do you mean by full wipe?
I'm s-off revone method + cid11111111 flashed the mod hboot successfully and a custom splash screen.
fastboot erase cache
Now I've go a boot loop and the spash screen works great.
went into recover to wipe and restore on wipe I get
E:unable to mount '/cache
E: TWFunc: :Copy_cache -- Can't open destination log
E: failed to wipe dalvik cache
looks like I've corrupted data partitions some how? Should I RUU? let me know if you guys can think of a fix?
thanks in advance.
wiping cache in advance for TWRP wasn't working. DOH. all better

How did you fix this?
Advance wipe in twrp said failed.
Some reason standard wipe erased cache and booted fine.
Also did fastboot erase cache before hand and that didn't seem to work.

Hi,
I'm running Cyanogenmod Nightlies on my rooted I9305, but for some reason the device is stuck at boot (Since I woke up, only booting until the samsung logo).
I wasn't flashing a rom, so I don't think Cyanogenmod has anything to do with this.
However, I did install "Hide My Root" not that long ago (I was trying to bypass the rooted-protection from my ISP to watch television; it did not work though).
I was able to boot in recovery (ClockWorkMod v6.0.4.5) and performed a wipe data and wipe cache, but problem remains.
I wanted to do a restore, but found out there wasn't a backup on my external SD card (sdcard1).
Installing a new nightly ends up with this error: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed. E: Error in /storage/sdcard1/cm-11-20140122-NIGHTLY-i9305.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
I did install ODIN, so maybe this could be a way to solve this.
I wanted to check if there was a backup on my internal memory (sdcard), but then I saw I was getting all kind of errors:
When starting Recovery:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
When trying to restore from internal memory (sdcard):
E: Can't mount /sdcard
What can I do to fix this problem, considering I'm not sure I still have a backup (I know, rookie mistake!)?
No one knows what to do?
I will wait 24h

Rules we have to wait twenty four hours before replying to you .
So... anyone who knows how to fix this, or who can point me in the right direction? :fingers-crossed:
Possibly wiping cache in recovery will remove those errors shown in recovery but that will not resolve the bootloop. Have you tried a full wipe as there may be something corrupt in the data partition causing the bootloop
I see I forgot to mention it, but I already tried that (cache, dalvik and data). But to no avail.
When I tried to wipe dalvik cache, not much happened.
When wiping cache partition, I'm getting this error: Fomatting /cache | E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 | Cache wipe completed.
I also found the PIT file, and downloaded the stock ROM from Sammobile, but running ODIN failed.
Okay, seems like nobody knows the answer... guess I'll have to ship it to Samsung for repair.
Does anyone know a way to remove the "times I flashed a ROM"?
Triangle Away won't work, since I'm not able to boot properly...

Put in download mode then flash a stock rom over it...
@Raistlin1158: In the meantime I already tried to do that, but flashing (anything) with ODIN end up with a "FAIL".
Any clue what might be the problem?
Update your Odin, Also can you do a factory reset ?
@Raistlin1158: I've tried ODIN 3.07 and 3.09, both fail.
I am able to boot in recovery, and I performed a factory reset, but it didn't change anything.
Can you help? Please

Nice necrobump.
You haven't even told anyone what you need help with nor what your situation is.
Few weeks ago I flashed TWRP-V2.8.6.0 over TWRP-V2.8.5.0, after flashing mokee 51.1 nightly I got an error message E:unable to mount storage. After clearing cache and dalvik cache also resulted in E:unable to mount storage. So I flashed TWRP-V2.8.5.0 again.. Still the same problem arises. Though flashing new roms work. It's still annoying to see that message during every action in recovery. Please help..
