My previous install of cm10 everything was fine. I went off to spring break where in my drunken state boot-looped it and just cut my losses and used the RUU to go back to stock. I reinstalled everything and the only problem is there is no 4g or even 3g now, what do?
You lost your APN settings

I loaded 1.2 and am having problems with data, I'm stuck in 1x while my gf with a Droid pro, sitting right next to me, has 3g. I've restarted my phone a couple times and it has changed nothing. Any suggestions?

Furthermore, if i pick cdma only, it goes right to 3g, is anyone else having this issue?

Just out of curiosity...
Settings > About Phone > Network Type and Strength
What is showing in there? I'm just curious if it possibly differs from what the statusbar is showing you.

Guys,
I just installed the official ICS update using HTC sync. My phone was completely stock. After the update, it cannot connect internet using mobile network even though I have strong 4G signal. Do you guys have any idea what is going on?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like your apn got messed up go to your apn and restore defaults and then reboot see if that helps

I did that several times and even reflashed the update but none worked. Called att, apparently my data plan was for my old phone, Blackberry...
Weird though, before the update the internet was fine.
Yes it is glad you got it fixed

I am hating this phone about now.... Grrr. I put the deodexed att stock rom on, installed eqs, and epm, a custom uot theme, then installed all my apps from the market, restored all data to the apps with tb, then deleted bloat, wiped cache, and now phone process crashes for no freaking reason... This phone sucks
What did i do wrong?

You must have deleted something important. Reflash will fix your problem.

I recently got my vivid and when I got it the lte wasn't working so I found what I needed to change the apn and I copied everything verbatim and now my mms isn't working. I made sure everything was correct and even deleted the apn and redid it but still my pictures get stuck in a continuous sending loop. Any help would be appreciated. Here are screenshots of my settings, maybe I missed something?

Just do this...
1) go to your local att store
2) ask for an LTE compatible sim (if you have one skip to 3)
3) ask them to enable LTE on your phone...no you won't be charged extra, no your plan won't be changed...everything will be the same except you now have LTE (this can also be done over the phone)
4) use the stock (PTA) apns
5) enjoy LTE and mms
Again...nothing above will cost you money (well...I guess there's gas) you will keep your plan...no hidden fees or extra charges or higher cost for phone bill...EVERYTHING THAT RELATES TO MONEY WILL STAY THE SAME
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
I have all that done already. Just left the att and they couldn't figure it out

So you don't have lte then...your using hspa+ (which shows as 4g I believe) Its impossible to set up lte by your self...because att has to enable it for your number...you can set up mobile internet on your own but you can't set up lte on your own (unless you hack into att systems and change it your self )
Just call att and tell them to enable lte for you...then use stock apns and enjoy download speeds of over 20mb/s (assuming you have late where you live)

I have LTE and I got everything working. When I got the phone the apn was programmed only to run on the hspa+ to save battery life and so I just went and changed the apn and enabled the LTE again (i do have it where I live I get between 25mb/s to 38mb/s depending on time of day) but when I changed the apn my mms stopped working so I just decided to delete all the apn's on the phone and start over and now everything is working as it should. That also seemed to fix the random restarts cause I haven't had a single restart since I've done that though may just be coincidence

Thanks for the tip. I was having the same issues with MMS not sending. So I deleted all the other APNs and just set up the one for att LTE and it worked great! Thanks again!!! That was bugging the hell out of me.
When using this function and I chose my preferred network as lte/cdma my phone automatically goes to gsm. Can anyone tell me why it is doing this. I have a tower with lte on my street about 1 mile away and can get lte now and then. That is why I was trying this method to try and stay connected to lte. Thanks.

Have you unlocked your sim and changed your settings at any point? It sounds like your device is defaulting to gsm and causing this headache.

I have not unlocked my SIM. Never done anything that involves the SIM card. That was a good thought though. The phone has told me that I cannot get lte because I have no SIM card before though. I read up on that. It said to clean my SIM card. I never did though. I won't if that is the problem? Thanks

What ROM are you running? Is this something that just came up? Do you have any other details that might narrow it down?

We just got lte where I live. I'm on tranquility rls 2. But I also have the stock rooted rom and the same thing happens. I can't think of any other details that I can give. I'm going to pull the SIM card and clean it right now. I'll be back. Thanks

I noticed that effect also when entering *#*#4636#*#* and changing to LTE/CDMA. I just set it back in the settings Mobile data>Network mode>LTE/CDMA and all was good. Not sure why it goes to gsm mode though in the first place.

No, I got a replacement and it wouldn't get 4G at all, just 3G. Figured I'd try to toggle it like you did, same result. Turned out the UICC ID wasn't matching up with Sprint's records. They reprogrammed it or whatever they had to do and all is good now!
