[Q] Editing build.prop with no success.. Help NEEDED! ..=)

I was confused...everytime i edited my build.prop with root explorer...i remounted R/W....i did every trick...and saved it...after a reboot..my build.prop returns back to the default things with no additional with my edited file.....whats happening here??...TT

so antother buildprop is in bin folder replace this also then it will permanently changed

u need to change the permissions to rw- r-- r-- before you reboot
Read - check all three
write - check the USER
execute - all are blank
save then reboot, then reboot (BE SURE TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP 1st!!!!)

Its not done that way.Even if the two build.props are edited and the permissions are set to rw-r-r sometimes you wont see a change.
This is because some custom roms now have a tweak to change the build.prop back to default on boot.So if you want to change the build.prop then you will have to change it in the computer and then reinstall the rom to your phone.

Inside sam keypad folder are some files, copy these files with Root explorer in:
1. AxT9IME.apk to /system/app -> permision set to rw-r-r
2. Touchwiz.xml to /system/etc/permission -> permision set to rw-r-r
3. libdhwr.so,libXt9_core.so to /system/lib -> permision set to rw-r-r
4. T9db folder (incude all files inside) to /system -> permision set to rwxr-xr-x
5. Restart !

i use jusada ics final rom with slaidfastmod 2.5 and samsung keypad in 3x4 in can't type any letter just numbers :S

it did not work for me could you explain better on what files you have to change permissions on.

Hi guys, I'm new but I follow this forum from months, I installed the Ice cream sunday final rom on my sistyer's Ace and it's perfect but she wanted samsung keypad so I installed it as written here... but when I try to add a new word to dictionary it crashes! Any suggestion? All permissions are setted right, I checked them many times! I had this issue also with gingercrutz and kang... It seems that I'm the only one with this issue!

I also search the orinal ace keyboard, but I need the german version.. Because in the german keyboard is qwertz..

hi guys, i today create a new boot animation for all android phone that is awesome!!!
and you must download it to see how i change xda to xperia!!!

How To Install:
1. dl bootanimation.zip and replace it with system/media/bootanimation.zip ( use root explorer )
2. change the permissionns to:
rw-
r--
r--
3. reboot too see:laugh:

if you want to use it in your device
TAKE BACKUP OF YOUR DEVICE BOOTANIMATION.ZIP
0.install image resizer
1.extract bootanimation.zip
2.Resize all images to your custom resolution, delete original images.
3.open desc.txt and and enter your mobile resolution(replace "1080 1920" by your mobile resolution)
4.open desc.txt_cust with notepad , here also enter your mobile resolution(replace "1080 1920" by your mobile resolution.)
5.now zip everything and select COMPRESSION METHOD TO STORE.and name it as bootanimation.zip
now copy bootanimation to you system/media
and set permission to rw- r-- r--
shutdown device and power on.

Help me please, about permissions.

I was changing my default emojis in system/etc and system/fonts, then I finally do it, but I had changed all the permissions on those folders and WiFi doesn't work (turn on) anymore. I just want that folder permissions to fix it please.
