Is there a way to watch movies in portrait mode?
Everytime i play a video, the video automatically goes into landscape... its a pain in the ass when the movie was filmed in portrait and i can only see like 25% because its on landscape...

There is nothing wrong with the video player. You need to use another program to rotate the video. Filming is supposed to be done in landscape mode, you did it in portrait but the phone doesn't know that (No rotation sensor input to tell the camera rotation). Some devices have it built in some don't .

Hey, I was wondering what video apps would one use to create 30fps video playback on the TMobile Wing.
If not the video app, then what codec and settings could I use to playback good video... I'd hate to buy a Apple Nano to playback videos..
Thanks

????? - tcpmp is working perfect for me.... for watching movies....
but making videos with built in camera - there will not be an app with 30fps -- coolcamera is better then built in - but only 20fps...
please describe your wish a little better

Hi,
I'm using Windows Media to view videos captured by the device itself without issues.
TCMP for viewing all other formats without issues as well.

"The Core Media Player"? I'm trying to download that without success..
What I'm trying to do is convert QT's of my demo reel to a format that my Wing can play without dropped frames and I was looking for video settings that could help make transcoding smooth for the wing...

Ya.. So I download TCPMP and pocketEncoder. My playback on my wing is still choppy, but get a bit better when I reduce my fps to 15.
What settings are people using to get 30fps?
BTW, I'm using TTrans001's latest OpenTouch v3_Biggie
Thanks
Is there a way to set another video player as the default in the browser? I'm trying to watch videos through ORB and they appear as a small square rather than an expanded video...

I not familiar with orb. But is there a high quality option as Youtube had a similar issue. When the video was playing in low quality at default, you needed to press the menu button to choose High quality so it would play in full screen.
I thought there was an orb application in the market have you checked it out?
Rockplayer plays my AVIs fine, with a bit of audio lag that's OK most of the time. My problem is that I like to fill the screen of my NC, and when I do that, the aspect ratio is distorted (and so is the picture, of course).
Rockplayer is supposed to fill the screen and keep the aspect ratio, but I cannot find any way to control it by setting preferences.
Also, I can't find a way to terminate Rockplayer, even using Advanced Task Killer. If I want to switch to a different video in the middle of one that's current playing, I can't do it.

You mean this? https://market.android.com/details?id=com.entertainment.mobomusic.player&feature=search_result ... Looks like it only plays music.
OP was talking about difficulty with video in Rockplayer...
MoboPlayer is not a market app.

Okay... that's kinda helpful, coulda mentioned that in your original post.
I suspect this http://www.moboplayer.com/moboplayer_en.html is the app chisleu is talking about.
And very smooth player.
First I've heard of Moboplayer. Just tried it and am happy with it. Seems to be the first player I've found to play back TV show AVI's (XVID) well without audio sync issues or dropped frames. It even played a 2.5gb 1280x544 high profile bluray rip for a while before losing audio. Going to be experimenting with this player to see how it works with smaller resolution high profile rips.
File browsing inside of it is a bit of a PITA. Hoping that during beta they fix that part.

I find MotoPlayer to be the same as Rockplayer, audio lag and all. Both play AVIs smoothly.
It adds a 4:3 and 16:9 ratio, but the 16:9 option, which I was hoping would fill the screen, makes people look skinny.
Is there an LCD density setting that would display 16:9 properly...? I realize the NC is not 16:9, but I'm OK with chopping off the left and right sides a little...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070. Off late if I try playing videos one after the other the screen starts to flicker. The first video plays fine, flickering starts when i play the second video, then I have to bring up Task Manager and clear the memory. This happens only while playing videos, I tried the VLC player also but result is the same. 90% of system resources are free so it can’t be a lack of system resources that’s causing this. Is it a hardware issue, I re installed the stock ROM but even then same result.
I have this problem too but it seldom happens.

In my case ti happens every time I play a video, no exceptions.
Which player are you using to view the videos?
People say I'm crazy, but the voices in my head say I'm just fine.

use mx player
i get this problem upon "ROTATION" (ie, orientation change) while playing videos in the youtube app, or playing html5 videos in the default browser app
X reality works with album and movie apps only or with any pic viewer or video player like mx player???
Any one here have answer!
of course. its used to enhance every kind of information passing the gpu-renderer.
its working for me with mxplayer and gplaer.
if you use gplaer and the floating video mode you can watch a movie and disable the xreality to see the difference. its there^^
